It seems a lot people have a semi in their garage. I also have a guy standing in front of the car that looks to me to be a large potted plant. But what do I know.
Those old school big, flat chrome front bumpers of oncoming semis really send my TACC into a panic on two lane highways. In the old pre-TACC days I usually covered the brake when using CC. Now I cover the accelerator pedal.
Two months and 1200 miles into my Tesla experience the windshield was hit with a big rock thrown from a dump truck. It hit right on the edge of the glass on the lower left side. Five minutes later a crack had spread halfway across the windshield right in my field of vision. There was no...
Even running a cable all the way from the MCU to the console, it takes less than an hour. There is no need to remove the center console. Definitely try another SC.
The most difficult part is removing the panel on the side of the console in the passenger footwell. It is fastened with 10 plastic "C" clips that have a pretty tenacious grip. There are several YT videos that show the process.
The panel underneath the glove box is easy to remove. The trick is...
It's easier to understand when you have only seconds to get off the road to a safe spot. Then wait three hours for a tow truck to arrive to take your car to a SC that's a two hour drive from your home.
It was a catastrophic failure, no limp mode, no MacGyver fix, no getting towed back to town...
When my new (<800 miles) Model 3RWD was towed to a SC (dead inverter) the first things done were tire tread depth check, tire pressure check and a 4 wheel alignment. Weird, but hey, it's Tesla. They left a printout of the before and after settings which showed three settings out of spec. To...
No, but mine did within a month at a bit less than 800 miles. Same scenario. The SC in Norfolk replaced the inverter in just a few days and I picked up the car on 3/6. It made the two hour drive home and is now stored away in the shed until a decision is made on what to do with it. My wife...
That would probably be the way to do it for the best durability. Would a body shop have access to those trim pieces, either new or used? We have a really good body shop in our area so when I get the car back from the SC in a couple weeks I will see what they think.
This morning I had the same fault as the OP with my 1 month old M3RWD with about 700 miles on it. There was a side road just ahead so I was able to get completely off the highway and was not in anyone's way. Called roadside assistance and a rollback arrived in about three hours and hauled the...
I originally had my sensors about 6" off the ground. One morning as my wife closed the garage door on her way to work our cat tried to duck under the door as it was closing. The sensors were not interrupted and the door closed on the cat crushing and killing her. Now my sensors are 3" off the...
As someone here pointed out, all the identical splash guards from a bunch of different sellers come from the same manufacturer. I just picked the cheapest which at the time was Bomely (on Amazon) and they fit great and are easy to install. I live down a long unpaved lane and they work well at...
It was less than 3 miles from the SC where I had just taken delivery of my M3RWD that I discovered some of the car's idiosyncrasies. As I drove into a patch of dappled shade the wiper started flailing wildly. Not more than a block later in another patch of shade the car suddenly braked for no...
Stupid work flow seems to be a feature of a lot of automation. I will be taking a trip in the rain today and will try this out.
Just a few days ago I lost the argument with my very recently purchased M3RWD about when the wipers should be on. I kept mashing the button and shouting "Wipers...
Thanks for the reply. The aftermarket console USB hub I bought from Tesplus does not seem to pass any data. I have tried a different cable going from the Tesplus directly to the MCU USB port with no success. I have also directly connected a know good flash drive directly to the MCU USB port...
I have about 1500 tunes on a flash drive. They are all MP3s and are arranged in folders by artist. When I connect the flash drive to the glove box USB port the USB device card appears and I can play whatever I want with Music Player. It reads the MP3 tags so I can sort by artist, album, etc...
Does the MCU USB port that is usually connected to the center console USB hub, either the OEM part 1755200-00-B or an after market replacement, only work with those hubs? Will it also work with a directly connected USB storage device (flash drive)?
Old thread but I would like to know if your MCU USB issues were resolved completely.
I ask because I can't get the USB port in the AMD MCU (1/23 build M3RWD) to detect a known good flash drive even when directly connected with a short USB-A to Mini USB adapter. A Tesplus module also does not...
Oh, wait, I got distracted with my rant. I bought a TParts USB module that does not work so I am considering the Carrkoopy module. I've seen some conflicting information on its compatibility with the AMD Ryzen based MCU. Can anyone confirm the Carrkoopy works with that?
It's certainly aggravating. I picked up my decontended 2023 M3RWD on 1/31. No USB data in the console, no mobile charger. Even the key fob I ordered had no batteries, just two empty CR2032 sized holes in a box that certainly cost more to manufacture than its contents. No spare, no jack, not...
