Plugged in or not plugged in?

Yesterday, my model Y LR app warned me that I should charge immediately (my car was at 8% SoC)? Why would it be so important? Anyway I plugged it in at my relative's home a few hours after to charge it up anyway...

Plugged in or not plugged in?

Personally, I'm too lazy to plug it in if there is no need.... For example I have now 41% and do not plan to go to any trips besides my usual work day 10-20 miles. On Friday I will charge to 60% since we plan a short trip. I do not think it would be better to go to SoC 50% every day. Anyone in...

Does Chill mode increase efficiency? Surprisingly, Tesla says yes

Sorry, am I missing an important point in this discussion - what does the Tesla SOFTWARE do when the car is in chill vs standard mode? It might have been programmed to (let's say) maintain 20 degrees C in chill mode and 35 in standard mode, and just THIS could be the main efficiency difference...

Tesla algorithm for cooling/warming the battery while done with driving

After some observations, i'm sure my car is doing "something" about 15 minutes after driving to a known location (have not observed others) with the conditioning of the battery. it takes about half an hour and then it stops. Am I the only person noticing this?

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

Sorry, but i do not agree. If someone does a 10 or so mile a day, it's best to go to about 20% and then to recharge to 50%. It's easier and better to the battery. Low SOC is better than a lot of charging.

Connect to the Wall Charger while charging vehicle

What would go wrong? Actually this is a new information for me and will try it just for fun...

Model Y Occasional 100 Percent charging

While reading this topic yesterday, I've charged my car to 100% and left about one hour later on a 450km trip (had to charge about 20% at a SUC) and now, I'm on 14% SoC. Should I leave the car overnight to let it (?) balance at this level, or charge it at my Wallbox to 50%? And how can I see...

Tesla algorithm for cooling/warming the battery while done with driving

Well, could be just a trigger to the MAIN subject - when does Tesla (if ever) to cool or heat the battery while not in motion (or not charging)? Nobody speaks about this, and I wonder, whether is is applied to the BMS?

Tesla algorithm for cooling/warming the battery while done with driving

To be precise - after cca. 20 minutes when the car is idling and locked the "pump" starts to run, it is not loud but it stays so for 45 minutes or so. It does not make sense to me to clean the "radiator and evtl. pipes" for such a long time. Must be something with battery, my guess.

Tesla algorithm for cooling/warming the battery while done with driving

Wander if anyone has an idea how Tesla decides to cool down the battery after driving? Been searching a lot all over the web and here, no information about it. Let me point to things that matter (hope not only to me): - after driving and locking the car (no charging underway), my Model YLR 2023...

    Apple Music problems-Sometimes won't play

For me, not the case with 12.9 . Seems to be an interaction between LTE internet throughput. No problems if I switched to radio before exiting the car the day before and on the next day turning on my mobile Hotspot before switching to apple music.

Energy usage while parked [with sentry mode on]

Interesting, the LV battery charging should be done only if the capacity goes under 40 or less percent, since it's a li-Ion one. Probably, the main reason is that they installed a tiny LV battery (99Wh, as I saw somewhere), which is a shame.

How many of you removed your Hubcaps?

HI, I just received the same ones and once put on the wheels, it seems that they cannot be removed without braking the plastics which holds them, have you tried to remove them?

Energy usage while parked [with sentry mode on]

Seems that a lot of energy is wasted and potential software optimization could save at least 50, possibly up to 80% with Sentry on, first, the 8 cameras and CPU cannot draw more than 50W total, impossible, CPU for sure is not utilized 100%. DC-DC converter needs to turn on only if the LV...

Gen3 Wall Connector Update Firmware Issue

OK, but it's on my private ground. And I keep it unplugged (via a Wifi controlled grid power meter which shows me the real power consumption).I wished it would replace my power meter and let me control the real power usage - for any car plugged in, but this is not realistic to come in a future...

Tesla sets charge limit to 90%

I'm driving weekdays up to 20-30km a day and do not see any reason to plug into my Wall connector every day. Come on, I'm too lazy to fiddle with the cable to keep the battery in extra optimal contidion. Just charging it when it drops below 35% and going up to 70% or 80% if weekend trip is about...

Gen3 Wall Connector Update Firmware Issue

What would a new firmware bring to Wall connector 3? More or less everything what matters can be controlled on the car via Tesla app.

    MY Eating Tires

Really? How have you measured it? (been searching for rolling resistance factor for EV-a a while, and it seemed to me that it's in single digits i.e. less than 5-9% at most)
