    ChargeFox EV charging Network

Now you can see just how long people have been plugged in at IKEA for. 4 and a half hours - maybe they got lost in the showroom?
  2. B

    ChargeFox EV charging Network

Can't get the VIN over AC (except for Tesla EVs + the Tesla Wall Connector AFAIK) and I don't think the VIN is accessible over DC, and the MAC/ID accessible over DC isn't always unique to all cars Plug in and Charge aka Autocharge aka Plug & Charge I didn't realise this was possible - unless...

    ChargeFox EV charging Network

Today's app update adds support for seeing how long ago a charging session started (both AC and DC), but for DC also shows the state of charge for the car plugged in. Bring on the shaming!

Kerbside pole-mounted chargers are now a thing

I'm sure I've made at least 457 reports to councils about cars being parked illegally ;)

    Superchargers in Australia

It would be nice if more networks fed this data to PlugShare, like Evie, bp pulse and Chargefox do. *glares at Tesla, etc*

    Jolt EV charging network

It's still connected to an external source of electricity so it's still parked legally.
  9. B

    Jolt EV charging network

As per above, 203C is the same in NSW. https://legislation.nsw.gov.au/view/whole/html/inforce/current/sl-2014-0758#sec.203C You don't have to actually initiate a charging session - just be plugged in.
  10. B

    Jolt EV charging network

Yes the other states have had road rules 203B and 203C in effect for some time. As they're national road rules - the wording is the same. SA road rules are here - LZ You can park in a Jolt bay, plug in, and you're parked legally. You don't need to start a session to be parked legally. (Of...

    Jolt EV charging network

Yes. Heck, technically you don't even need to start a charge to be parked legally (under the road rules you only need to be connected to an external source of electricity) if you really just wanted the parking - but that would be a terrible person thing to do.

    Novated Leases

Any unspent funds for running costs (registration/insurance/tyres/electricity/car washing/etc) should be returned to you at the end of the lease, taxed at your normal rate. You may even be able to request a 'refund' mid lease, or just lower your deductions going forward if you find you've...

    NRMA fast charging network

Finally - though it's not hard to be better than the NRMA website 'app'. Much easier to scroll around and check which stations are actually available.

    Wiki Exploren supported Charging network

Thankfully PlugShare (and Google Maps) seem to ingest Exploren sites within a day or few of them going live - unfortunately they don't seem to differentiate between public and private/restricted charging, so there has been the odd site ingested that probably didn't need to be.

    Supercharger - Exeter, NSW

I think ABRP is the only third party with Supercharger availability. Are you a ABRP Premium subscriber?

    Supercharger - Mildura, Vic

Took a few days, but Mildura is now showing in the 'Charge Your Non-Tesla' or 'Charge Your EV' section of the Tesla app.

Took a few days, but Orange is now showing in the 'Charge Your Non-Tesla' or 'Charge Your EV' section of the Tesla app.

    Evie EV charging networks

Gave it a go last night, the unit with 2x CCS2 was on and working, the other unit with 1x CCS2 and 1x CHAdeMO was off (and cones in the two parking bays). Activated with a RFID card as it wasn't showing in the Evie app last night, but it appears to be today. First time at Riverwood Plaza...

    NRMA fast charging network

I believe Tesla is the same - one app, but varies from region to region (eg in Europe you can add charging cards to the Tesla app as a payment option, like Polestar Charge, but not in other regions like Australia)
  22. B

    NRMA fast charging network

Or to prevent confusion - ie you can't download the NZ or US McDonald's apps in Australia, or the US Starbucks app. Download apps, wonder why they don't work! And then visit overseas and be annoyed when you cant download the apps for the country you're in. - As a developer, they just need to...

Good to know it's not just me - bit hard to plan ahead if you can't tell what the availability is until you're actually there!

Western Sydney University charging (Now restricted)

I assume the student (and staff) ID cards are RFID - I'm surprised they haven't just set up authentication so that the chargers only activate for approved cards. Or, use an app to authenticate and start charging.
  26. B

    Ampol AmpCharge network

Is it just me, or does the Ampol app not show availability at stations?
  27. B

    Ampol AmpCharge network

No AmpCharge at eg stations in Australia. Overseas, eg are using the V4 Supercharger hardware EG Group to acquire Tesla’s ultra-fast chargers to accelerate the rollout of evpoint charging network across the UK & Europe
  28. B

    Jolt EV charging network

Because Mitsubishi is Japanese? ;) It's fairly common on a handful of EVs, like the Leaf and Mitsubishi's cars - Type 2 for AC charging, CHAdeMO for DC charging.
  29. B

    Jolt EV charging network

The port next to it in the photo looks like a CHAdeMO port
  30. B

    Jolt EV charging network

There isn't a thing (ie from CCS2 DC to Mennekes Type 2 AC) - perhaps it has a CHAdeMO port? The Jolt app should have shown which plug is in use.
  31. B

    Supercharger - Orange, NSW

Up on the Tesla website now - https://www.tesla.com/findus/location/supercharger/34178 Showing in the app as 3 of... 3... available this evening. Not showing as open to Non-Tesla EVs in the app (or mentioned on the Tesla website yet)

    ARENA/NRMA national fast charging network

Allegedly the Tritium gear is easier to adapt for off grid stations. As used in the WA EV Network (which are almost exclusively Kempower for their grid stations)

    SA Govt EV Network

Port Pirie went live this morning I think? Interestingly Chargefox app is showing it as 4x CCS2, rather than 3x CCS2 + 1x CHAdeMO

    SA Govt EV Network

I still have no idea why most of the 7kW AC chargers alongside the 150kW / 200kW DC charges aren't on the Chargefox network (yet?), so a free charge is always a bonus - but I don't get why!

    EV Energy plans - NSW

The annual inspections are only required for vehicles over 5 years old :) https://www.nsw.gov.au/driving-boating-and-transport/vehicle-registration/renewing-vehicle-registration/safety-checks-and-vehicle-inspections (but yes, they could make it mandatory sooner than 5 years if they wanted)

    Novated Leases

The vehicle belongs to the financier - they buy the car and rent it to you. It does not belong to you. The NL company has nothing to do with this arrangement - they set things up to start with, collect their commission/kickback, and organising the novation and for your employer to pay the rent...

    Novated Leases

Don't be too concerned about any 'interest rates' you were quoted, as this is a lease not a loan, there is no 'interest' and so there can't be an interest rate. You can work out an 'effective' interest rate, but if you're just comparing to buying outright with cash or a regular car loan - you...
