    Values dropping for used Teslas

Values are dropping for used cars in general because the covid chip shortage is over and the supply is not as restrained. The days of 1 year old used cars costing more than a brand new one are over.

Will the free FSD trial convince you to purchase FSD?

I took a ~2000 kms trip to the US a few days ago and got to test it out in many diverse conditions, mostly highways. Overall I don't really like it. On highways, when approaching a slower car, it will change lanes to pass, but then stay in the left lane far too long before moving back out of the...

    Supercharger - Trout Run, PA

I charged here a few days ago and didn't like the way the chargers were behind the building. It might feel less safe to more vulnerable people, although maybe they're planning on expanding that building somehow. I also don't see the point in putting a charger here considering the Williamsport...

Tesla Owner Calls Police on Rivian Driver Using Supercharger

Well that tesla owner sounds like a complete moron. If he did actually call the police he should be charged with wasting police resources. And I agree about the need for tesla to email owners that other makes can now use superchargers.

Will the free FSD trial convince you to purchase FSD?

No, to me it's more of a gimmick than a useful feature. A cool way to impress your friends who haven't been in a tesla before, but nothing more than that. I genuinely enjoy driving and don't want a computer to do it for me. However, I've only used it around town so far, I have a multi-day road...

All US Cars capable of FSD will be enabled for one month trial this week

I just got an email saying I get a complementary FSD trial. 2023 M3 RWD, never had FSD before.

Alberta imposing $200 EV tax starting in 2025

Maybe every car should have the ability to report the combined weight of all its passengers + cargo, and relay it over the air to the government so that they can tax us based on it.

    First Long Road Trip

I've had my 2023 M3 slow down aggressively for no apparent reason, both when using autopilot and on regular cruise. It mostly happens when cresting a hill but I've had it happen on level roads too. It's happened so many times that I no longer use cruise at all when driving in traffic cause I'm...

What new Supercharger site do you want the most? Supercharger voting 1Q2024

I see what you mean, that is a huge gap. Is it common for europeans to drive their cars between western europe and greece? I thought since flights were so much cheaper in europe you'd just fly.

Anyone got door edge guard protectors?

Yeah I'd prefer something clear and low key too. I'm less worried about scratches to my own car and more worried about dinging another car and being forced to pay for someone's entire door to be repainted (huge $$$).

    Supercharger voting results

Agreed. A good spot would probably be on hwy 12 near Beaverton, everyone from the eastern GTA would pass through that way if they're going north, eg to cottage country. But Orillia is getting one.

Model 3 and Y the same price now in Canada

Is this the cheapest the Y has ever been in Canada? Although still more than what they pay in the US (after incentives).
  13. S

Anyone got door edge guard protectors?

After giving a ride to someone who flung open my door and very nearly hit another car, I'm considering these: Another option would be to just get this clear edge guard which runs along the entire length of the door...

Trade in looks great, rates, not so much

Maybe you shouldn't be trading in your car every 3 years if you need to finance.

    Supercharger - Baie-comeau, QC

Impressive. I just checked the circuit electrique app and was pleasantly surprised to see they have fast chargers all the way to natashquan.

What new Supercharger site do you want the most? Supercharger voting 1Q2024

I cast my votes based on where I'm mostly likely to drive in the future. I never vote for anything in my area cause I charge at home, but I can see how that would be important for those who can't charge at home. One gripe I have about owning a Tesla is that on road trips I can't stray too far...

    Supercharger - Baie-comeau, QC

Great news, I was planning a road trip up that way this summer. I've been as far as Natashquan on my motorcycle, the 138 is a great road. There is a plan to extend it all the way to Nfld.

Cold weather trip; Considering avoiding Nav directly to SC to avoid preconditioning

Contrary to what is written in a post above, you will not cause any damage by charging without preconditioning. Just a few days ago I stayed at a hotel in sub-freezing weather, when I left the hotel in the morning I navigated to a SC 10 mins away. When I plugged in, it would only charge at 5kw...

Cold weather trip; Considering avoiding Nav directly to SC to avoid preconditioning

During my road trip last month (temps were a few degrees above freezing), I noticed my 2023 M3 would start preconditioning about an hour and a half before my arrival to the SC. Normally I wouldn't care, but on a few occasions it estimated I would arrive at the SC with a very low SoC (like 6%) so...

    F-150 Lightning Thoughts

This thread interests me because I was just thinking of trading in my Model 3 for a Lightning as I think a pickup would suit my needs better than a sedan. Not right away, I'd like to wait until it can use Tesla superchargers, or until non-tesla fast chargers become a lot more common. I've done a...

Supercharger - Nepean, ON - Robertson Road

I charged here a couple days ago and was disgusted by the sheer amount of garbage (mostly coffee cups) thrown around the superchargers. Why are fellow Tesla drivers such pigs? I realize it's annoying there's no garbage bin there, but that's no excuse to litter.

Non Tesla DC chargers are really expensive!

Haha the hotel I stayed at in Quebec had a Charger Quest L2 charger, so I plugged in over night. I got charged $29! Was plugged in for 7 and a half hours and charged 43 kWh. Still cheaper than gas I guess.

Heater on always vs frequent on/off, which is more efficient?

Let's say I got a 1 hour commute to work in the winter. Which of the following would be more efficient? (by efficient I mean minimize power draw, as well as minimize wear and tear on all components) 1) Set comfortable temp (say 20 C or 68 F) when I get in the car (or a few mins prior via the...

SuperCharger - Brossard, QC (Quartier Dix30)

I charged here the other day, there is no signage telling you to drive into the underground parking garage. I circled the parking lot and couldn't figure out where it was, then parked and checked the reviews on google maps and luckily someone there wrote that it's underground. It's a very busy...

Ottawa to Burlington VT road trip planned

I was just there a couple weeks ago. I don't live in Ottawa though, I live in the northernmost part of the GTA. I took the 401, crossed at the 1000 Islands border crossing, then charged at the SC in Lake Placid, then took the ferry from Essex NY to Charlotte VT (there was a small toll), from...

    Our very unpleasant experience

Exactly! I've bought many cars in my life, both new and used, and a couple of motorcycles, and the Tesla experience is the best I've had. I love not dealing with a salesman, or that person that tries to sell you rust proofing, etc. The problem is, many if not most customers still expect the...

Stadia Controller may work with Tesla's now

I just tried mine and it didn't work. Does it only work for certain games, or only when plugged into a specific port? I used a usb-c to usb-c cable to connect it to the port in the center tray.

    Supercharger - Woodbridge, ON - Highway 7

Is this different than the supercharger mentioned in this article? The address is different but very close. https://www.yorkregion.com/news/what-s-going-on-here-3rd-tesla-supercharger-station-under-construction-on-hwy-7-in/article_668d62b6-9200-5d65-919d-fd662d096d32.html edit: after looking...

Wireless charging in M3 makes phone very hot

I have the iphone 12 mini (which I hate and gonna replace soon) and I have the same problem. Half the time the phone doesn't charge cause it's not aligned properly, and even when it does charge it gets really hot. I would like to just turn off the wireless charging, since 99% of the time I don't...

    Newfoundland?

I did a trip to the east coast on my motorcycle a few weeks ago and remember seeing a few teslas rolling around cape breton island so there must be some kind of charging infrastructure there. Then again those could be locals who charge at home. I remember teslas (and other EVs) being very...

    Supercharger - Gaspé, QC

Anybody drove around the gaspe peninsula recently? I'd like to make the trip in my 23 M3 RWD all the way around (to campbellton) later this summer, probably early august. If I bring a CCS adapter will it be a pretty straightforward trip? Are there long lineups? I suppose I can use L2 chargers as...

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

Picked mine up. Yay :) What is this 150 supercharging credit mentioned above and how do I see if I got it?
  33. S

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

Just got offered a pick up date, I was able to choose between june 23, june 24, and I forget what else.
  34. S

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

On the website (Model 3 | Tesla Canada) it says "3 months of free supercharging for new inventory delivered by june 30). Am I correct in assuming we don't qualify for this if we're waiting for our order, since we're technically not buying an inventory car?
  35. S

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

My trade-in offer expired and the new offer is $800 less. 😡 My reward for Tesla taking forever to deliver my car is that i have to pay them an extra $800.
  36. S

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

I noticed that and called Tesla. The person told me the cars listed there aren't actually physically present here yet, they are on their way and expected to arrive the same time as mine.

Model Y RWD now available. RWD+AWD now eligible for iZEV Rebate

I remember seeing another post that said the china-built Y does come with the mobile charger. Does anybody know if this is the case for the china-built 3 RWD too? Don't wanna order one if I don't need to and get stuck with 2.
  38. S

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

I'm starting to get impatient! Ordered April 1, delivery date still says June 20-30. When I ordered it said delivery would be in April so I expected to get it in a month or less.

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

Anything that VIN tells us? Country of origin I guess, anything else?
  40. S

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

Mine also just switched to June 21-30. I ordered Apr 1. This is almost 3 months from ordering to delivery, what's taking so long?
  41. S

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

How do you call them? When I call it's just an automated service and no matter what i press I can't get a human.
  42. S

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

I ordered April 1 and my EDD is still May 26 - June 30.
  43. S

Model Y RWD now available. RWD+AWD now eligible for iZEV Rebate

I daily drove a Mustang GT for 3 years, never got stuck. I have no concerns about driving RWD in Canada, just need a set of winter tires. But I live in a flat area, I'd probably want AWD if I needed to climb up slopes often. My EDD is still May 26 - June 30, hasn't changed in a few weeks.
  44. S

How worried about vandalism are you?

I park in my own private garage when I'm at home, and the work parking lot is really safe. But if I didn't have a safe place to park I'd probably drive an old beater. I don't get people who live in some rundown neighborhood but still insist on driving something nice.

Making the switch from rwd model 3 to the new model Y rwd

Well that blows. You'd think this would be a fairly common occurrence and they'd have some expedited way of dealing with it but I guess not. I hope they refund your $250 at least. You can always buy both and then sell the 3. :D
  46. S

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

I ordered 1st week of april, originally was showing delivery in april and then a few days ago the estimate changed. But I'm in canada, things tend to move slower here than in the US.
  47. S

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

I think you should change your order to the Y then, $5k more isn't that much for a car that better suits your needs. Plus if you cancel your order for the 3 that means I'll get my 3 sooner. :D My estimated delivery is still May 26 - June 30.
  48. S

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

Not me... What do you mean by premium interior, in what way is the interior of the Y more premium than the 3? I don't want larger wheels, it's purely a looks thing, does not improve performance, makes curb rash more likely, make wheel damage from potholes more likely, and reduces range. 18" is...

What are we expecting to happen price-wise on Model 3 in Canada?

I agree a 6.9s 0-100 is pretty bad for an ev. Probably intentionally software crippled to encourage people to spend more money on the higher versions. My 3 SR that I ordered in early april was originally showing april delivery, now it's showing may 26 - june 30. Since the US just had a price...

SR/SR+ (Model 3 RWD) Waiting Room

Tesla's website shows several RWD's available in Toronto right now: New & Used Electric Cars | Tesla So why are they making us wait until June instead of giving us one of those? Those are brand new unsold cars unless I'm misunderstanding something.
