    Supercharger team sacked?

The only logical explanation is that Tesla has copied Toyota's technology, and is going to start making self-charging cars. ;)

Looks like it is Cribbs, not Lysander Rd. I wish Tesla would price the SCs for non-Tesla the same as other operators. at £0.39/kWh its half the price so is far more attractive to use, leading to more blocking, potential damage to cables etc.

    [UK] 2024.8.x

To be fair, it is for temporary roadworks over the brow of a hill, so traffic may be slowing in front unsighted as you crest the hill. So, a useful sign, but as you say, it needs understanding and interpretation of the text.

    Cabin air filter replacement (RHD)

I have a late 2020 LR (US-built facelift) UK RHD and I tried to replace the cabin filters at the weekend, but the cover seems to be different to the RHD guides on youtube. The access screw is at the bottom of the cover, the tab at the top, and the foot rest prevents me from getting a...

    [UK] 2024.8.x

On my regular route there is one of these signs which is immediately recognised by the car as a 50 limit at the sign. Stuff like this needs to be handled correctly if FSD is to be launched in the UK. Filter (arrow) traffic lights also confuse the cameras, but I thought these were common in the US?

What were you driving at the start of the '10s.....

Subaru Impreza WRX (with PPP) ... that should validate my petrol-head credentials :). My second Impreza and one that I kept for 8 years and put 136,000 miles on. I followed it up with a Mazda 6MPS which someone mentioned earlier in this thread.

    Model 3 Highland Performance

US price (converted) is £42,500 before any tax credits. Why is the UK paying so much more when they are probably made in China or Germany?

I had my first proper test yesterday and was impressed as there was a definite V shape in the light pattern with a darker patch in the direction of cars I'm following, and oncoming cars. One thing I considered though would be oncoming cyclists - do the lights react to them or are they going to...

    2024 Insurance Costs

If the car is written-off the insurance company will decide the value. You can get gap insurance to cover the difference, but don't get this from a dealer as they add commission. An independent gap insurance provider will be cheaper.

3 Phase smart meter + EV tariff

Note that the Tesla will only charge at 11kW/hr on 3 phase due to the limitations of the on-board charger. So question (e) should be do you really need that extra 3.6kW over the single phase speed of approx 7.4kW/hr given the extra cost and complexity.

I had the same experience with confusing symbols. I left full beam on, and it seemed to dip the light spread in the direction of oncoming vehicles. I wasn't flashed at all which is some indication that it is working. This was on an un-lit A road at rush hour with plenty of traffic in both...

April 2023 premium was £420 with Churchill. Just had a quote with Admiral for £498 so a 18.5% increase. 2021 M3LR, safe area, 58 years old, retired. I was considering whether to add breakdown cover, but Tesla handles that while in warranty doesn't it?

EVSE died after 7years and 23MWh. Low cost dumb EVSE replacement recommendations ?

I don't think "dumb" chargers can be installed any more. They have to be internet connected smart chargers, unless you find one on ebay or aliexpress. Cheapest I've seen is 7.4kW EV Charger, Type 1 & Type 2, Single Phase, Untethered - VEC01 but it may be easier to replace your broken charger...

    Sainsbury's Launch Own-Brand Charging Network

One benefit is the free parking, as opposed to Tesla at Heathrow T5 (for example) which charges for the car park and again for the charger. If the Sainsburys is 30p more per kWh then a quick charge may be cheaper or a similar price in total.

An ultra-efficient model option - narrow tyres

I was just watching a couple of youtube videos regarding tyre efficency, and wondered how many miles you could get from a Tesla 3 LR if it were fitted with, for example, tyres from a BMW i3. The %age difference in range is substantial from just a small change in width and weight so a narrow...

Thoughts on not choosing acceleration boost on M3LR

I'm reluctant to pay £1500 for the acceleration boost but I would pay a lower amount such as £500 / $700. Version 2023.44.30.5.1 arrived this morning. I wonder what the fixes were? One of my frequent routes has this type of sign but for a 30 limit ahead. The speed shown on the display immediate changes to 30 while in a 60, so its clearly thinking it is a 30 area, and not ahead.

It could be a trigger for "compressions" in the traffic flow. I.e. a Tesla phantom brakes, car behind brakes a bit more, car behind that panics and brakes even more. Someone not paying attention then hits the car 3 behind the Tesla which has since continued on oblivious.
