The 'S' curve is simply a manifestation of the Central Limit Theorem.

Exactly. When presented with a problem sticking your head in the sand will definitely make it go away!

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

What you point out is true. I can drive a Model S and have it display in Fahrenheit. On the other hand you cannot drive a Model S and have it display in Celsius. So what's your point? One thing you neglect to consider is that I may be in Mexico or Canada in which case I might be driving a Model...

I said I guess not that I know. Please learn to read English. I'm making this judgement based on Tesla's actions.

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

My guess is that the board has already made the decision and I don't see any reason that they will reverse it. The point I'm making is that other boards either have already made this decision or soon will so you should just suck it up or do something about it in your country. However, if you...

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

It is indisputable that Australia drives on the left side of the road. I assume that they made this decision at some time for some reason known only to themselves. And, as Tesla and others are making all too clear, this was a bad decision. So, when I state this in what way am I being insulting?

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

There are probably many links. Here's one - easily found. As far as I know all the American countries all the way down to Tierra del Fuego have always driven on the right (ever since European colonization that is). Basically, any country that ran large teams of horses or oxen traveled to the...

So that's not true. Henry Ford did not cause the US to switch the side on which we drive.

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

My life experience precedes joining this board. I was not born yesterday. I am certain that I know Australia far better than you. For instance, I am aware that Australia is a very British country and one of the British things that they do is drive on the left side of the road. When I first...

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

So your assumption that manufacturers are required to supply the automobile model you believe you require is not shared by Tesla management. And why should they think that way. The thing about a "RHD" vehicle is that, from the manufacturing and logistics point of view, is another model. That is...

The longest EV charging network in West Australia

Thanks. I think the original information came from announcements from the two Shires but I've not seen them. Synergy's problem is that Western Power is a (monopoly) supplier so they are completely dependent.

The longest EV charging network in West Australia

I addition to Williams, which is now fully open, Albany and Manjimup are fully open in the so called "SWIS" area. Additionally, there is a report that the Broome site is in but not operational. There is a Plugshare pin but no Chargefox pin - and no Chargefox, no charge, period. There is also...

I've heard that Lancelin and Jurien are now due sometime in August - but I don't know how reliable this info is.

So there's meant to be a site at Kojonup that I have forgotten about. I don't believe work has started there yet. Waiting for the first Horizon site to go in to see what they look like.

The Albany site is on line as well. When the Jurien and Lancelin sites are completed the route between Albany and Northhampton will be complete.

So I don't know what BYD are selling in Honk Kong. I suspect that is is always going to be a subset of what is sold in the rest of the PRC. Likewise for Australia and the other countries.

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

Maybe. But you can forget about any GM auto. You can forget about manufacturers such as Rivian an Lucid. An I guess you can forget about many of the Chinese models as well.

Don't know where you got that idea. But, in any case, how is that relevant?

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

It is interesting, but when you look at Japanese autos in Japan and those in Australia you can see that they are in large part not the same. For instance, most of the Toyatas seen in Australia are not seen in Japan but are seen in the US. By sales, Toyota is a RHT company despite being a...

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

This is actually a no brainer. The whole idea of driving on the left side of the road is just crazy! Many years ago I spoke to a auto executive obout this. He told me then that the global market for cars with "RHD" is about 15%. And, from a manufacturing and logistics point of view, making...

    Supercharger - Lancelin, WA

Yes, I was aware of the minutes. By evidence I meant actual hardware and work being done.

    Supercharger - Lancelin, WA

Either of those would be OK. But, I'm hoping that they are putting one in a Albany along side the WA EV site. No evidence of that yet.

Bunbury? I would not think so. You may not be aware but there is already a supercharger at Eaton which is a suburban neighborhood of Bunbury.

    Supercharger - Lancelin, WA

To expand on what OwlDownUnder has said there are three state organs in the mix: Synergy, Horizon and Western Power. Synergy operates in the so called "SWIS" (South West Integrated System, aka "the grid") as both a power generator and monopoly seller of power to the general public. The SWIS is...

    Supercharger - Lancelin, WA

I would think that if Tesla where really committed to installing chargers in WA then Western Power's apparent tardiness would cause them to increase the lead time on the sites. After all Tesla is not run by people who are easily dissuaded. WRT the WA EV Network at May of last year almost none...
  31. E

    Supercharger - Lancelin, WA

I suspect that Tesla has decided that Australia in general, and WA in particular, is not a very important market and will not contribute to reducing the 1:300 ratio.

I believe that the same teams of contractors are doing Lancelin, Jurien and Williams. Given that the transformer at Williams is going in right now tose other locations may not be far behind. I don't drive up that way too often. I would be great if somebody who was driving by could keep us updated.
  33. E

    Supercharger - Lancelin, WA

I agree. But there is no evidence of any Tesla equipment on site at this time. Common Tesla, you're been beaten by a government run enterprise!

Good news at Williams, WA. The installation of the transformer is in progress. The credit card post is still missing. Waiting for hook up to the utility cabinet. Transformer Transformer Transformer I'm waiting patiently for the install to finish so that I can start charging. :)

    Supercharger - Lancelin, WA

Looking at the latest site plan and the photos I'm now not sure that the Tesla Supercharger site works have started. I think what is happening is that the site is for the transformer for the WA EV Network site that is currently being installed. So, false alarm. Sorry about that.
  36. E

    Supercharger - Lancelin, WA

Not clear what the basis of the claims you are making. When you say "vast majority" how vast is it?
  37. E

    Supercharger - Lancelin, WA

Given that the purpose of Superchargers is to service drivers who are on trips of much greater than 100km I don't understand the point you are trying to make.

I was at Jurien two days ago. The answer is, at that time, the transformer has not been installed. Hard to know when it might be done but Western Power are probably working very hard to maintain their reputation for tardiness.

    Supercharger - Lancelin, WA

So it has occurred to me that Tesla does not have a great incentive to build Superchargers in WA. It has shown that it can sell plenty of cars without them. And, because of the adoption of the CCS standard, Tesla can ride on the back of the various other charging network programs. But maybe...
  43. E

    Supercharger - Lancelin, WA

You seem to be saying that WA, because of its low population, will never be served by Tesla Superchargers. I hope you are wrong but I suspect you are right.
  44. E

    Supercharger - Lancelin, WA

I didn't see your location before so I thought you may be from the right coast and unaware of the situation on the left coast. But I must disagree. For instance it is not possible to drive from Perth to Carnarvon by proceeding from Supercharger to Supercharger. A drive of similar distance is...

    Supercharger - Lancelin, WA

To clarify the adjacent Lancelin WA EV Network site consists of 1 Kempower stand with 2 CCS cables. If Australia is 2 years behind schedule then WA is over 5 years behind. This one will be WA's 5th Supercharger with 3 of the other 4 having been built in the last year. And, when complete, only...
