Good luck! You have to pull the upper trim piece harder than you’d expect but the clips are solid and you won’t break it. It’ll come off cleanly then snap back after.

Kind of figured at least a foot, maybe closer to two? I was just basing it on what I’d seen with my friend’s Model S. he would press the button as he walked towards the car from the wall connector and it opened. I think my other friend with a Model 3 can do something similar. *shrug*

This is maybe a shot in the dark, but did you name the partitions properly?

Reviving this thread. I’ve been having this issue with a late-May 2023 Model Y LR. Mobile service replaced first the charge port door, then the controller. Replacing the controller did nothing but the new door at least made it so that the button works when the wand is ~4-6 inches from the port...
