    Vendor Official Tessie app talk

Thanks for the reply. I've disabled all ad-blockers and tried again with no luck. I'll try and verify the referral link is correct before trying again. Ok, I signed in and then out, and then back in and it worked. Thanks!

    Vendor Official Tessie app talk

I'm trying to use a Tessie referral link on the desktop browser, but it's just taking me to the normal "try free for 14 days" page, screenshot below. How exactly can I use the referral to get the month free trial and benefit the referrer?

Anything wire under the hood that shows 12V when in drive/reverse and not park?

@snovvman, I have all the parts required to tap into the reverse light wiring, but I'm just needing some time to figure out the tidiest/best way to do this and leave no traces of anything being tapped, since the car is still under most of its warranty.

My on/off switchable PWS mod "for off-road use only"

@snovvman, I have all the parts required to tap into the reverse light wiring, but I'm just needing some time to figure out the tidiest/best way to do this and leave no traces of anything being tapped, since the car is still under most of its warranty.

Anything wire under the hood that shows 12V when in drive/reverse and not park?

I'll be sure to do a write-up of what I'm doing. I'm currently getting a list of parts together for it. My goal is just to disable the reverse sound because it's simpler to do, and the forward sound isn't as noticeable so I can live with that. I'd still rather not have the speaker fitted at...

    Boombox in Aus?

He's wrong! It makes a static/hissing sound when moving forwards at slow speed. It's not as audible compared to the reverse "UFO sound" though.

Anything wire under the hood that shows 12V when in drive/reverse and not park?

Yes that's what I'm going to do, and that's what you can use too, unless you've found another solution?

Anything wire under the hood that shows 12V when in drive/reverse and not park?

The rear inner tail lights aren't CANbus controlled, only the headlights are (and maybe brake lights). That's unless something has changed in the past three months. There are discrete lines running from the body controller to the tail light assembly. They're all "power in" for the fog, reverse...

Anything wire under the hood that shows 12V when in drive/reverse and not park?

There's a 12v line which runs from a harness in the front of the cabin all the way to the rear. This could be tapped into for powering a relay to disable the PWS speaker. The harness runs from the Right Body Controller, down under the door sills, and then up to the rear lights.

Anything wire under the hood that shows 12V when in drive/reverse and not park?

I'm looking at doing the same thing, with a relay connected to the reverse light wiring to disable the annoying UFO sound while reversing. The closest wiring in the front of the cabin, and that's in a big harness. It easily splits off the further rear you go, which isn't ideal since the PWS...

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

No, wipers and the headlights are controlled via CANBUS. They're digitally controlled. The headlights for example only have three wires going to them (+power, ground, and CANBUS control). The PWS speaker is analogue in the sense that the thing driving it (the MCU) is outputting an amplified...

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

Since it's an analogue output, that's probably the reason for not being able to control it.

'23 Model 3 uses the PWS speaker for normal horn function too.

Here's a couple of pics of my setup. First pic is of the PWS speaker specs. Second pis is behind the trim of the front left wheel well shroud. This shows the blanked off connectors that would have gone to the two horns (which aren't installed in my car). These have the blue/black and red/black...

Haven't really compared, and it's hard to do via videos anyway. To be honest, I'd rather not have the PWS. It's not a legal requirement to have one where I am, and I don't like the UFO sound when reversing.

'23 Model 3 uses the PWS speaker for normal horn function too.

I haven't changed anything. I was looking at having the PWS speaker switched on/off manually, and that's when I realised there was a difference between my speaker and older ones. I also noticed the horn sound was different to 2022 models. I do not have the physical horns, it's just the one...

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

Please remember that there are plenty of other countries where the NHTSA rules don't apply. There's no requirement for vehicles to make any noise where I am, although that may change in the future.

'23 Model 3 uses the PWS speaker for normal horn function too.

Thought some of you may find this interesting: I have an April 2023 Shanghai-built Model 3 based in New Zealand, and noticed the PWS speaker also does double-duty and makes the "horn" sounds too, as this car doesn't have the standard dual-horn arrangement located in front of the the left-hand...

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

I wonder if it would be possible to disable the PWS "UFO Sound" while reverse is selected in a future update. That's the only thing I'd like to have a toggle setting for, to disable it when reversing out of the driveway early in the morning so that I don't disturb the neighbours.

My on/off switchable PWS mod "for off-road use only"

My April '23 Model 3 RWD from Shanghai does use the PWS speaker for the standard horn sounds. There are no separate horns on the left side of the car like in previous years. Plus the PWS speaker (Part Number 1671113-00-B) in my car is a 50watt 2 ohm unit, while the older ones were 25 watts 4 ohm.

Does the PWS speaker also act as the horn on 2023 models?

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

Except one of these has happened, the other is coming from a single picture on the internet. Parking sensors are still available on current models for other countries (Aus/NZ for example).

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

No one knows anything, however it appears that the car yard area where the Model 3's are parked once produced at the Shanghai factory is suspiciously empty. Musk was recently visiting the factory too, with some speculating it was to see how the initial vehicles were looking while rolling off...

    2023 Shipping Movements

Apologies, I'm aware this is mainly for UK/EU shipping tracking, but is there any visibility of vessels heading to NZ or Aus? I've got an EDD of 14-30 June for a M3 from Shanghai, and I'm keen to follow the shipping updates. Do these vessels head to AU/NZ directly from China, or do they make...

    Australian Model 3 Waiting Room

Does anyone know if there's a shipment on the way to NZ? I placed an order on April 13 for a M3 RWD, and recived the final invoice with VIN on the 28th. Expected delivery date is currently June 14-30. I've been trying to keep an eye out for shipments over this way, but nothing can be seen yet...
