I got my car back today with the new computer. I paid $2700 out of pocket to have it fixed. Its on pre-holiday software now so I'll try to keep it that way as long as possible. I don't want it fried again and have no interest in Tesla ruining it again then giving me the bill.

Same issue here with HW3 model 3. Main computer works for a while then croaks.

Does it work on a trip? For me it's fine around town but as soon as I go anywhere it kills it.

Are your cameras working? Is your gps screen stuck?

How did it go? Has it been fixed? I have the same issue.

Did y'all fix the issue? My AP and auto steer beta will only work for 45 minutes as well before ECU 1 goes critical. 2021 3 with intel atom and heat pump.

Did that fully resolve it? I have the same issue and it seems to work for about 45 minutes then it starts croaking out.

The limiting factor has always been the front knuckle. They have a new custom knuckle so now it's limited by the body and rubbing/trimming etc.

Yes I get the most value from the lift. The all terrains are nice and get compliments and stuff but I could probably do just fine with two sets of tough all seasons and dedicated snow tires.

For tires do some research into sizes and specifically widths. Narrower tires are more efficient but too narrow compromises high speed cornering on pavement. Narrower wheels are generally better and help protect the rims. Stock Teslas have really bad tire stretch and rims that are ridiculously...

It drops the motors so the cv axles keep similar angles to the smaller Mpp lift. It's effectively a combined subframe and spacer lift with long travel control arms and gets rid of the knuckle clearance issue.

The Wildpeaks are about a 10% range hit. The lift is 5%. Your bike rack is the rest.

Do you have the comfort coilovers or the comfort adjustable coilovers? There is a big difference.

Start a savings account for another car and keep driving it. Statistically you save the most money by having the least. Not having a car is best obviously but statistically you're most likely to have it run for ages with a few $2-$4k repairs. Or trade it in for the cheapest high-mileage model 3...

If you want to see what's going on yourself you can go into service mode and there's a pretty fancy screen showing all the HVAC systems running. I don't know what any of it means and obviously don't do anything in there but it might be interesting to see if something is amiss.

I have a model 3 (lifted 2") on Falken Wildpeaks (225/50R18 for model 3) and it's about a 15% loss in range. I believe 10% from the tires and 5% from the lift. Basically it takes it from a LR and turns it into a performance (efficiency wise). It does fine on long trips, no issues with range...

I have a wheel in the air all the time and never had a problem... Also have jacked from one point (front, to remove front wheel) and never had a problem.

Does MPP make a comfort adjustable coilover for the Y? On the 3 this is the way to go - lift plus mpp comfort adjustable coilovers. I don't know what the Popup motors guys are using with the 5.5-8" lift but I bet they are squishy.

Highly recommend the MPP 1.75" lift. It's pretty good and simple/cheap. If you want 8 inch you can get this $10k kit.

Also FYI the bottom of the battery tray is only 3mm aluminum plate with a 1/2" air gap until you get to the battery modules. In other words, it can take a 1/2" dent but it's not exactly tough.

There's also a black anodized hydroformed skidplate that is similar available from several manufacturers. I don't know if the MPP plate has the bending/center support issues I had with snow loads bending the plate upwards but here's how I fixed that. There are also coolant line guards you can...

One thing of note - it's super easy to add a 2 inch lift to your model 3. It basically turns it into a subaru outback. I'm very happy with this approach for myself. Range loss is 5% or less.

You just can't have a lifted wagon on all terrains without a spare tire... Too many sharp rocks in the desert.
