Some of the early models came without the release spring, you were supposed to move it from your original wheel. Could that be the case? Are you sure the spring is there?

No, none of these screens void the warranty, unless you have to drill into the dash or something then warranty is void ONLY for the altered pieces. It's just like plugging in an OBD reader in a car.

Windows 11 can still format fat16 if you plug in a small enough device. It will just show up as fat.

Just app32.upd on a 1gb fat16 4kb usb flash drive. The improvements are exactly what they list on the page. It reset to California time, shows “mph”, and has a square speed limit sign.

Non-touch. I also got it from the hansshow website, exact same file, the flash drive I used was 1gb fat16 4kb. I tried multiple other ones and they just rebooted the screen. Only time I was able to get it work was with that very old drive.

There is no manual release for the frunk. However there are two leads under the tow hook cover that you can use to jump the 12V battery if you think that might be dead.

If EAP was $2K I would definitely get it. For FSD I guess $5K sounds okay, but I don’t know if I need it, so I will go for it only if it’s tied to the account not the car so I can move it to the next car.

Of course you pay tax on it. It’s $15K + tax. When you are about to order it asks for your billing address and calculates the tax.

Do you use the tesla app random, a 3rd party app for stats or charts, or the tesla api on say alexa or home assistance?

So far what I have is basically every frame for the boot video as jpeg, a few html pages about “ITE Ctrlboard” and an EBML file which I believe is also video related.

Can you upload it to a service like Ufile.io - Upload files for free & share them without registration ? If I can compare that to the one I have I can probably find some stuff regarding how configuration works

I am looking into this, no reseller shared the firmware files and compiling process yet, but I was able to read some stuff from the UPD file. Reverse engineering will take a lot of time this way. Maybe the USB port might have access to the screen’s internal storage. I will try that too.

Can you provide the firmware files and compilation process for us to modify them, instead of relying on you for updates? There are quite a few UI fixes I can think of if I can access to the firmware files.

I was able to read out some stuff from the binary, I am trying to see if I can come up with a way to make some changes and repackage the firmware. If anyone has firmware experience let me know if you are interested in looking into it together.

I wish they just made the software open source, I am sure a lot of people would be able to fix all the problems and implement most wanted requests within the first week of it.

I saw a 2.0.230228 somewhere on this forum but I don't have the link to it, they said it has some bug fixes including the 12H clock, but doesn't have the Plaid option.
