Thanks! That's what I was afraid of! :)

2017 MX Supercharging in Late 2023

I wonder why the handle temperature matters? The handle is part of the charger, not part of the wiring or software in the car?

My old MX charges better than my old body

Thanks, EV! You describe the relevant parameters well. I don't have matching data for my 2023 M3 RWD. The charge rates sound similar, but somehow I feel the charging time is almost half: 20-80% SOC in maybe 25 minutes? I guess that's where the total range and kW/mi needs to be factored in. So...

    Battery estimated capacity question

Here is a simple thought: Instead of "Battery Capacity @ 100% (in Wh) = Avg Wh/mi * Projected Range / SoC%", just use "Projected Range / SoC%"? Since the guessometer calculator presumbaly takes driving habits (ie Wh/mi), into account, should that not be a reasonable estimate?

Yes. Drove it ~8 miles past zero. Diplay stayed at zero. QED

    Range Estimates for Dummies

Great collection of data! What's your guess as to the error range if you just divide the range by the % shown by the range icon?

    Wide Turns with basic AP

For context, Tesla enthusiast here! 2023 M3, 12k miles. I use AP a lot and am generally very happy with Cruise and Autosteer in basic AP (do not own EAP or FSD). HOWEVER, I've been noticing that even in moderate curves, autosteer takes a long time to adjust and usually does not stay centered...

    Range Estimates for Dummies

Looking for a used Tesla and would like to assess the battery. I believe this post is independen of model type. Here are the sources I could find to determine current range: 1. As a baseline, the range when new is published somewhere. Is there a good, consistent source for all years and models...

    2018 Model 3 HW2.5 vs 2020 Model 3 HW3.0

Grins, Would love som hints on how your calculated charging speeds and where the information is published. Trying compare MS 2018-2019-2020. Charging times for road trips. Thanks Gerry

Current charging rates vs older Model X

Thanks. That's comparable to my 2023 M3 For 2016, the 90D (abalexab) is rated at 257 miles, If your current range is say 240 miles, 10-80% would give you 144 miles in 24 minutes. A little tight on a road trip. The 2023 Plaid (Pintsized) does 200 miles in 25 minutes, similar to our 2023 M3...

My old MX charges better than my old body

Silicon, I assume you have a 100D? Wondering how long it takes to charge the 220 miles you mentioned on a high output Super Charger? Is the charge you describe at a SOC from 20% to 80%? Seems off somewhow :) Thanks Gerry

    Purchasing 2017 p100d

Sorry. I was talking about the cars. Assuming unlimited charger output, what is the "absorption" capacity of MX over the years?

2017 S 100D extremely long charging times for last 10%

I suggest you refocus your energies on optimizing your stops. I always unplug my 2023 M3 when I see the charging rate drop. I understand that's not your question. To your question, though, the M3 took a very long time at 99% to rebalance cells the few times I watched it at a SC. Don't know...

Current charging rates vs older Model X

I'm thinking about adding a Model X from the 2016 through 2020 era to our Tesla fleet of one 2023 M3. Beside the usual focus on battery capacity, I have concerns about charging rates. Capacity is relatively easy to find in the original specs. Some dealers even list the current, fully charged...

2017 MX Supercharging in Late 2023

This is such a relevant post to me. Thank you ! The closest I've come to answering my musings. I've been Looking at a Model X from the 2016 through 2020 era for a while now, with a concerned eye on the battery capacity and charging rates. Degradation is ovbviously the other consideration. I've...
