For me in Alexandria the process took less than 1 minute. They wanted to see the two keys, the odometer, the stamped service record book and did a quick look around the car. They then sent me to the counter to pick up my Model Y.

A hairdryer or heat gun (and sometimes rubbing after heating) can help. Here’s a video which shows the general idea. A hairdryer will take a longer to heat the plastic than a heat gun.

My other car is a Ford. Interestingly its connectivity works on Telstra/Optus/Vodafone from one SIM card. Telstra is good, but not perfect (eg my office has amazing Vodafone coverage but almost no Telstra coverage). I wonder why Tesla don’t use a similar multi-carrier setup.

I think the main thing is some of the aftermarket ones have a higher ball weight figure (160kg) vs Tesla’s.

It uses Telstra 4G. If there’s Telstra 4G available it works.

Yes - I need to inform them if I go over 1,500km and they’ll inform their trade in team. It may or may not result in a requote. The bigger issue with today’s additional delays is now going to be the 60 days.

With the Glovis Caravel delays, I’m getting very close to the 1500km threshold on tradein kilometres post receiving the offer. I’ll ask Tesla tomorrow, but has anyone gone over the 1500km and had the tradein value reassessed, or has it been ok? Thanks.

With Novated Leases, that's not normally how it works - you order the Tesla, and then pass the invoice to the Novated Lease company - as you're the registered driver. I guess each Novated Lease company can devise their own process though.

I drove (in a diesel due to no Tesla yet) past Port Macquarie at about 9.30am today and there was 1 Tesla there. I drove past Heatherbrae at about 12.30pm and there were 3 Teslas there. I guess travelling in the morning helps?
