Seems unlikely. Tesla already has superchargers at higher elevations than Ely. The more likely scenario is so the design can accommodate the Cybertruck and non Tesla EVs on the network. Pull through style or just having the chargers rotated makes these new use cases much easier

Death Valley National Park!

I just did a road trip from Idaho to Death Valley. There was NO construction going on in Ely. I didn't drive my Tesla either for obvious reasons 😂

It is so bad it is basically an advertisement for ICE :(

Awesome thanks for the update! Is that a disabled charging spot only? Or is it just saying there is extra access space for disabled? I haven't seen anything like that before at chargers.

Yeah it looks like Tesla says you can't do it even in nice weather. This is the route it gives me :( Too bad was hoping to take my Model 3 to Death Valley this winter instead of my Jeep.

That's 170 miles. I wonder how that would work in the winter with a RWD Model 3 with Snow Tires on running the heater.

Nice looks like we will be able to pull forward instead of backing up! That will be so much faster. Also will be nice if you have bike racks on the back

I have the RWD M3. I would be a bit nervous to count on anything but a supercharger in the middle of the Nevada desert. Seems like CCS stations are always broken.

This will be great to have! Hopefully Tesla can add another supercharger location between Ely and Vegas. That is a 243 miles stretch!

Just drove over today. No evidence of an upcoming installation :( Last week I was at the only supercharger in Boise and people were having to wait as all the stalls were in use.
