Should I upgrade to Plaid or keep my 2014 P85D w MCU2 and Ludicrous upgrade

As many of you know, Tesla is now offering a transfer of the Free Unlimited Supercharging for grandfathered owners to new vehicles. I've looked at the eBay value of my car (120K miles), and it's about $15,000 give or take -- there don't seem to be any with the Ludicrous upgrade or MCU2...

Master Charger failed, part not in stock, Tesla dropping the ball on a Loaner

Hi all, I have a 2014 Model S P85D, with the 4 year Extended Service Agreement. I have a HPWC at home, and only use the Superchargers when on road trips. Last week, on my way back home (near Orlando) from Miami/Palm Beach, I was unable to charge at the Supercharger (hung on "Starting to...

External Mount Sunpass and 95 Express HOV Exemption

Based on threads here and the official forum, it seems that there is a well known issue with Sunpass working through (most) windshields. The recommendation is to call and order the external mount Sunpass and install it in the nose-cone. There is also the HOV Exemption for ILEV vehicles which...

UMC / SOOW Extension cable resilience to door crushing

When charging at a friend's, family's, etc location, you may have to have the car parked outside the house, with the outlet inside the house -- there have been other posts about making an extension cord using soow 6/3, which is a rugged cable. The question is, if you have the cable going under...

"December" Delivery still the promised date on the design studio for P85D, S85, S60?

The design studio is still promising a December delivery for P85D, S85, S60. We are already 1 week into November. Is Tesla really going to be able to have 7-week deliveries at this point, or should this be getting updated soon? It seems odd that people who ordered nearly a month ago saw the...

Theoretical maximum speed over distance in P85D and other charting hypotheticals

It seems that Tesla's calculations of 285 Miles of range on the P85D are assuming an efficiency of 300WH/Mile. I have used this to estimate WH/Mile for speeds from 55 MPH -> 155MPH (top speed of vehicle). This chart also assumes that you would only ever use 80% of the charge of the battery...

Speculation on delivery dates for P85D's

There have been reports that there were over 1000 orders on the first 24 hours, and I suspect the numbers went considerably higher in the following week. Tesla is still promising "December" delivery on their design tool, but as history shows, Tesla has a history of letting promised dates slide...
