Setting for coasting vs. regen/brake on speed change?

No - there's no setting or way to get it to coast.

Update or not to Update - FSD killer update coming

If it's a safety related update, you will get it via cell if wifi isn't available. You will then be given a period of time to install; if you don't it will do it anyway. Safety related updates are not optional and basically can not be avoided unless you're willing to give up a lot of the...

    Retrofit heated steering wheel ?

The Bolt also has a smaller battery and shorter range so they need every kW they can get. Our company has a Bolt and it's also very slow to charge. I use full cabin heat in the winter (below 0 temps) in my 3 and still have plenty of range to the next super charger.

    MYLR snow performance

I live in the high Rockies where we get a lot of snow and sub-zero temps. If you know how to drive on snowy or bad roads, you'll be fine. I have a set of snow tires but have only used them sporadically because (1) I'm lazy about putting them on; and (2) I can get through the winters OK with...

Full Auto Drive in Rain not available

If the weather is bad enough, FSD is unavailable - that's a standard safety feature of the system. There is no way to override it.

    Stop Alert Overfiring

There are no settings you can adjust. It's warning you that you are too close the forward vehicle - try increasing the distance between you and the front vehicle and see if that will help it.

    Does pre-conditioning = Defrost functi

Preconditioning is not defrosting. Defrosting is a separate button on the phone app. Preconditioning or turning on the heat to warm up the car before you enter just turns on the seat heaters and the ventilation heat. I park outside at work and usually from about now until April, for the past 5...

Can You completely turn off Traction Control?

Even with snow tires, I can easily break it free on turns because of the torque. I ❤️ snow drifting too

Max miles decrease 223 miles at 80%

More than likely it's the BMS. You need to drain it down below 20% then charge above 90% a few times.

Phone "keyless entry" works, but not "keyless start"

I've got the key as well plus another connection in my list which I guess is for the audio. I'm guessing but I think that connection is the "key" for the car and the phone somehow knows it. I don't know if it's a new feature or not.

    Less updates for older cars?

Updates are done regardless of age. You may not get some because of what you have (S/3/X/Y) and features (FSD). Mine is going on 5 years and still get updates but not as frequent. However, that's because I have FSD and am on a different code branch and not because of age. In the past, Tesla...

Could Tesla sell their Supercharger "division"?

Tesla has made a business of vertical integration. They make the cars, parts, batteries, software, and charging. I don't think they'll interrupt the value chain to sell.

how can we encourage tesla to give better audible alert of AP status: full, distance keeping, or off

There's enough beeps already - the blue steering wheel icon works for me.

    Autopilot breaking for roundabouts

Not sure about autopilot because I have FSD but FSD takes roundabouts quite well (for the ones I go around) and has for a version or two.

    more on FSD

Turn on minimal lane changes to stop unnecessary ones. As for the red light, it's driving style takes some getting used to. It doesn't drive the way I do but it does work. I've learned to let it do its thing and the more you use it, the more you'll learn how it drives and gain confidence in it.

Tesla sales slow, missing Wall Street forecasts 10/02/2023

It's called higher interest rates and the Fed might do another one before the year is over.

    Side Repeater Camera Quality Improved?

The cameras were never meant to be seen by human eyes. They were optimized for recognition by the software. People started to complain that they couldn't see the cameras so Tesla added that feature. Then people started complaining that it wasn't a "true" picture so now they did some corrections...

    Dynamic / Auto speed-limit adjust (Auto-Pilot)

I don't know what year your car is or what version of software you're running but mine adjusts speed up and down depending on the speed zone. It misses some zones in some places but that's because the underlying road database is wrong. I know where those areas are - mostly construction zones...

Thinking of buying Model Y LR

Having range anxiety is normal at first. After a month or so of driving, it will become less and less then you'll learn that there are plenty of chargers and charging options around and it'll disappear altogether.

Did Tesla end mobile service (in NJ)?

For me, that's the way it's always been. You sign up for a service center visit then chat to get mobile.

Allowing other brands access to Tesla super chargers

I'm willing to bet they'll make a ton of $$$ from non-Tesla users.

    Communication issue

I have a 2019 LR and haven't had this problem. That said, try to go into service mode and check your comms page. I don't remember off the top of my head where it is on the service menu, but it will show the status of your wifi/3G/LTE receivers. It might show which one is bad (if that's the...

FSD - Stop & Go Traffic

I use FSD quite a bit on a two lane roads. It does take some getting used to and sometimes it can feel quite unnerving. However, I've used it for the past few years and I'm completely comfortable with it. My advice is to trust it and avoid the urge to make the car drive like you want it. FSD has...

Montana LLC for sales tax? (Moving to LA which has 10.4% sales tax)

Can I Avoid State Sales Tax by Using a Montana LLC?. I doubt it will work.

Is FSD based solely on cameras input?

Tesla only shows a camera view (which is not optimized for our eyes) to give us a warm fuzzy. In the days with radar and USS, the neural net fought against itself with conflicting data which degraded FSD performance. By dropping the other inputs and re-training the net using visual information...

    Wayze Please

Tesla has been very clear from the beginning that they own the user interface. No carplay, no android auto.

Anyway to turn off radio etc when opening the door?

I've been around long enough to remember when the radio shut off when you opened the door. People complained because when they are dropping off at the airport or school, etc. they didn't want the music to stop and then have to re-start. Tesla changed the behavior I think back in 2019 or so...

Model 3 SR+ LFP Battery Range, Degradation, etc Discussion

As others have pointed out, miles (or km) is a very unreliable measure of degradation. Set your display to % and just worry if it won't charge to 100%.
