    Idle fee scam?

Well said. I managed a healthcare procurement department for many years and have studied contract law extensively. I’m glad you took the time to explain it. I was tempted but it felt about a productive as pissing up a rope.

    Idle fee scam?

I didn’t receive a warning that the limit was reset. I checked when I got a notice when charging had finished much earlier than anticipated.

    Idle fee scam?

That doesn’t help. I was not doing a linear trip. I needed 100% for my day activities.

    Idle fee scam?

There are several things about my recent experience that don’t wash. 1. Tesla resetting my charge limit. There was no onscreen notification of this. Perhaps because of my failing MCU that they won’t schedule for replacement yet. But that’s another story. 2. Requiring my credit card number...

    Idle fee scam?

The supercharger where this happened has signs posted on each space allowing 30 minutes general parking. Does that seem like a disconnect?

    Idle fee scam?

Thanks for the info on the class action suit. Idle time fees did not exit when I bought my car. My guess is that those of you who think imposing idle fees is kosher bought your car after idle fees where put into place so I can see why you disagree. You bought into the concept. I did not.

    Idle fee scam?

I think you are missing the point. Tesla and I entered into a contract for free unlimited lifetime supercharging that was unconditional. Back in the day, us early adopters moved our cars when charged out of courtesy. We even left notes on windshields when someone forgot. Since then Tesla...

    Idle fee scam?

Isn’t that analogous to giving the police your credit card number in advance in case THEY decide you have broken the law? No details were provided by Tesla where the idle time occurred and at what time/date. At least with a traffic ticket you receive in the mail you get detail and a right to...

    Idle fee scam?

This happened to me last week. I changed my limit back to 100% after charging stopped at their imposed 80% limit. This was done in less than a minute. Next day I received an email saying the Idle Fee would be waived. At the end of the email this was attached: My car was purchased new with...

    Installing Xpel around CF spoiler

I didn't wrap the trunk lid with X-Pel but did everything else. I was mostly concerned with rocks causing paint chips on the road and parking lot damage. So the trunk lid didn't seem likely to get hit. So far that has been the case.

    Rolling backwards on an incline

Hank - for clarification, what I meant was that I get a more complete stop without creep engaged. You're right regen is the same with or without creep up until below 5 mph.

    Rolling backwards on an incline

Parking in my garage is on an incline requiring tight cornering. I have to engage creep to prevent rollback. Without it I've tried parking as if it were a manual but then I get the 2 pedal warning. If hill hold worked properly as it does in my Jeep I could leave creep off. But as it is now I...

Took my car to a local garage and they took it for a spin...

I'm fortunate to have a local tire shop that I trust and who lets me in the bay. I just went there this week to get new wheels mounted. I drove the car into the bay and helped position the blocks on the jack points and made sure jack mode was enabled. They dismounted my tires, moved the TPMS...

Vendor Rial Lugano "Tesla Turbine" 19x8.5" wheels now accept your Tesla center caps

I just put a set of these in graphite on our Pearl White MS. They go on easy now being hubcentric and with lugs included. The Tesla center caps fit perfectly. The stock TPMS sensors fit fine. Balancing was 0.5 oz or less per wheel. Thanks Doc! :D:D:D:D

Tracking P85D Next Generation Seats Delivery Thread

I received a call this morning that my seats had been found in the parts department - go figure. I'm scheduled to have them installed next week. Hopefully there will not be any more surprises.

Tracking P85D Next Generation Seats Delivery Thread

My story on the next-gen seat delivery is so bizarre that I had to share. I took delivery on 12/31 in Denver. We relocated to Northern California shortly after that. Not wanting the seats to go to Denver I contacted my "delivery specialist" in March advising him of the situation. This went...

Those of you with clear film (PPF, Xpel what have you) look at my edges please

Actually he does a lot of wraps at the service center in Denver. They have plenty of room and freeing up a bay for him to work was no problem. He and the Tesla detailer work well together. I hope yours turns out as well as you deserve. I feel your pain.

Those of you with clear film (PPF, Xpel what have you) look at my edges please

For what it's worth, I had my new P85D wrapped with Xpel last month by ACE Automotive in Denver. They were recommended by my DS and work closely with the service center. Ben did a full wrap which took 3 days. It was all custom cut. He did it at the service center so that I didn't have to take...

Steve, According to my DS mine left on a truck for Denver yesterday morning. He is expecting arrival tomorrow if the storm doesn't delay the truck. I'm sorry you won't be in town for the delivery.

    Energy Federal Credit Union

I had the same experience with them. With FICO score well above 800 and minimal debt and income to qualify for a 100% finance at other lenders, EFCU offered me $50k at 0.86%. The reasoning was that I have a lack of high dollar credit history. They were a complete waste of time. I was...

P85D range and highway battery performance

Good idea. I too am having some concerns considering I'll be doing a 1200 mile road trip weeks after delivery. I'd like to suggest that we also include elevation changes in the data gathering.

    Tracking P85D delivery thread

I finally have a reason to post in this thread. My car went into production this morning Vin 64009. It was supposed to be delivered to Denver by 12/20. I don't see this being very likely at this point though. I'll update the spreadsheet too.

    Auto Retractor for Charging Cable

I can't tell much about the retractor you have since it's enclosed in a sheet metal box. I too was looking for something more affordable and have always had excellent results ordering from McMaster-Carr. Their products are industrial quality from my experience. I like the bracket you have...

    Auto Retractor for Charging Cable

McMaster Carr sells tool counterbalancers that might work for the HPWC cable http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-spring-tool-balancers/=v0ea99 I especially like the ratchet type. As soon as I get my P85D and get to try out the new HPWC I will be looking into this. Great idea.

Protecting paint - XPEL, Opticoat vs repainting

I'm going through he same exercise as I too will be taking delivery on a pearl white P85D the end of next month. The quotes I'm getting on a very thorough Xpel wrap are more in the neighbor hood of $2k though. You might want to check around and get some quotes and references. ~Steve

Tesla HPWC On EBay from Canada

I recently joined to learn more about our soon to be delivered P85D. Monday I bought one of the Canadian HPWC's on Ebay for about $530 delivered. It was delayed one day in the UPS customs facility but still arrived today. Four days from Quebec to California is not too shabby. The HPWC is...
