    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

It took about three weeks to get my delivery text (it will be just over 4 weeks since docking). Melbourne sounds like a bottleneck at the moment.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

I wonder how many in-wait Melbourne cars were just battered and bruised in the holding yard with the massive storm that passed through this afternoon - golf ball sized hailstones. I even put the bluddy rental car in the garage. Just another thing to check for on delivery... whenever that happens.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

I'm very close to doing the same. I was in a text wrestle with Tesla about getting the $400 refund offered to some earlier in the GC debacle. Did you get a refund? I can't keep spending $x on a hire car. Better to cut losses and redirect funds to an available car. My EDD has been pushed seven...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Hallelujah! I guess that means we're up to August on the backlog. It's really frustrating to see people in the Facebook group say they ordered in Jan, same spec as me and just picked up at the same delivery centre. I'm really not happy with Tesla, to the point I now officially regret the...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

It makes sense why the Melbourne deliveries are so delayed. They're prioritising / scrambling the cars to Sydney by truck. Most people get a text 2-3 days after ship arrives and pickup within two weeks. Most of us are nearly two weeks with no text at all. What a debacle.

Geeezus. August!? Can I buy you a beer / provide a hug?
  7. B

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

When did you order? I heard from a friend that spoke to Tesla (same order timeframe) that apparently they are prioritising delivery by order date. I'm 3-Oct and haven't heard anything, so it must be a big backlog.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

...for those waiting in Melbourne from the MC with EDD pushed out another two weeks. Tesla's sentiment is always hopeful, just like it was in October for my first EDD. At least they're consistent. I had a boss that always said "under promise, over deliver". Clearly not the Elon mantra.
  9. B

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

No delivery message and car has been loaded off the MC for over a week. I can only imagine there are 1000+ cars to clean, charge, hoist on a truck and store in a secondary limited space (ie. delivery centre. March seems more likely now, unless you get lucky. Good luck.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Sadly I took a punt and sold my car for a good price. In tracking MC it looked like very good odds that it would arrive on the front end of the EDD. Alas, I have been Elon'd. Original EDD was Oct.

Mine as well. This is ridiulous. Why bother providing timelines. Poor from Tesla, yet again.

MC departure moved from midnight today to midnight 31 Jan on Melbourne Ports site (hopelessly unreliable). Perhaps it hasn't unloaded yet (or it's only just getting underway).

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Based on previous customers, it means it's unloaded onto the dock and we can expect a text within a few days and delivery within 2-3 weeks (hopefully sooner).

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Why stress about the nuanced differences between mid-late 2023 and 2024 cars when they're practically twins separated at birth? It's like trying to spot the dissimilarity between identical twins wearing different hats - it's a futile exercise! This whole calendar year thing is like a...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

I'm expecting MC to be displayed on the Melbourne Port arrivals page tomorrow (for Sun / Mon). Usually two weeks from there so it should be front end of suggested timeline (Feb 4-20 for me in Melb). I imagine Radelaide will be +1 week.

With respect, it's 100% a reflection on Tesla. This has happened before and on this exact ship. If I made a mistake of this magnitude at work - twice - I'd be sacked.
