Good stuff. I went with the 295s to avoid any stretching or fitment issues. They clear well. Enjoy your ride!

    MYLR rotor rubbing sound

This was with my Tesla rims a day after pick up. May have been an errant pebble. Never heard it again since taking those wheels off, and never regretted the decision.

Looks good! I guess your overall height is similar to my 18s so no front end rubbing issues on the suspension/control arms with the 21s?

I agree. A 45 profile on a 295 tire gives you a wide tire for better handling, with a strong but not over-flexing, proportional sidewall that fills the gap better.

    18" wheel on model Y

Yup...Martian MW05's check those boxes really well in an 18x8.5 or an 18x10.5 if you want something more aggressive on a Y.

    18" wheel on model Y

You can get as much - or more - tire by going to a wider 18 tire with a higher side profile. More comfort with little compromise on handling or stability. Think about where you do most of your miles - not necessarily where Road and Track do test laps. I run 295 45 18 tires on 18"X10.5" forged...

Debating the switch to 18 inch wheels from the 20 inch inductions

Negligible improvement to range, but comfortable ride. Great off the line. Handling with any non- comfort steering setting is great.

    18" wheel on model Y

Unless you track your vehicle or have a commute on the Pacific Highway...1) lower unsprung weight for improved acceleration and efficiency; 2) lower tire cost with arguably more tire options 3) a higher sidewall for a more comfortable ride, less rim damage from potholes or curbs; and 4) for...

Need to replace my all season and snow tires , what are folks using in Canada?

I agree with the speed comments. However, the 94 and 98 references are to the load ratings. Strongly suggested to stay near or above 100 here as theyre heavy vehicles. XL load ratings are a safe bet.

Help me decide on my next tires! (Michelin Cross Climate, Sport Pilot AS, Continental ExtremeContact DWS)

Consider the Toyo Proxes ST3. It is a viable alternative to what can otherwise be cost prohibitive tires. And I have generally been a Michelin/Continental driver for decades.

Need to replace my all season and snow tires , what are folks using in Canada?

I just changed over from the OEM 20" Induction wheels to these 18'x10.5" forged Martian MW05 wheels. Very light and strong, and look great IMO. I have 295/45/18 Toyo Proxes ST3s and they're dollar for dollar a great bet. Great all season handling in wet spring/fall/summer. A 112 XL load...

About to order 255/50/19 Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 tires (non spec). Any considerations/ other recs?

Thanks! Square set up so I can rotate Front/Back. No rub whatsoever. The wheels have a 40 offset and the tire height is within limits for the control arm and components. Full turning radius and no tramming on rutted roads.

Need to replace my all season and snow tires , what are folks using in Canada?

Michelin X Ice 235 55 18. Hold up great in snow and pooling water, and are a very comfortable daily driver on my freeway commute. Highly recommend them.

    Martian wheels 10.5” wide ?

Martian MW05 in 18x10.5. 295/45/18 tires (Toyo Proxes ST3 with great performance, treadwear and XL load rating). Zero sretch or fitment issues with stock set up. Flush look with the 40 offset and no spacers required. Knocked 7 lbs of unsprung weight on each corner. Happy MYLR owner. Good luck.

About to order 255/50/19 Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3 tires (non spec). Any considerations/ other recs?

Consider going to an 18. I9s and 20s are fine for some folks, but not necessary for the Y. The Martian MW05 in a 18X10.5 width gives you a more flush side profile with zero rubbing or fitment issues. As a fully forged wheel, they are also stronger. Combined with a 295/45/18 all season tire with...

    Martian MW05 18 X 10.5 on a MYLR?

For the info of anyone who may be interested, the wheel and tire reps have confirmed fitment should not be an issue. I have attached dimensions of the 20" Induction wheels, my existing 18" Michelin X Ice winters, and my intended purchase.

    Martian MW05 18 X 10.5 on a MYLR?

I'm contemplating the Toyo Proxes ST 3 in a 295/45/18 configuration. The XL's have a good load rating and I believe the tread meets my daily summer needs. I'm a noob on this site and just got my MYLR in Nov 2023. Appreciate any input from those with sound wheel/tire knowledge with our cars...

    Martian MW05 18 X 10.5 on a MYLR?

The 8.5 width would have been a great choice. The 10.5 were one sale and the idea of a wider wheel for summer appealled to me. I believe a 295/45/18 would bring height just above 27 inches and they're supposed to be okay for wheel widths up to 11 inches. If anyone out there has used 295/45/18s...

    Martian MW05 18 X 10.5 on a MYLR?

I wasn't planning on lowering it but appreciate the info. I would actually prefer to go with a taller sidewall profile but am concerned about maintaining a wide enough tire on the 10.5 wheels so it's not stretched (and not rub anywhere). They're a plus 40 offset. Any alternate tire size...

    Martian MW05 18 X 10.5 on a MYLR?

Has anyone installed the 18x10.5 MW05 Martian wheels on a MYLR? I am contemplating 295/35/18 tires for a square set up and understand they will not rub or require any mods. I'm curious how that configuration fills the wheel well and rides, otherwise. Any comments and especially those with...

    MYLR rotor rubbing sound

Second drive. Sounded like a rotor was rubbing on metal at relatively low city speeds. I have read elsewhere this can be a rock or pebble lodged in a brake or even a new tire label rubbing. Anyone else have this experience, and if so, what are recommended steps? Thanks.
