I have a p85+ with autopilot that has a 2014 vin and a mid 2015 build date.

Btw I did that video after tesla in Dallas told me they wouldn't do it. Not too much drama.

FYI - tire rack called me and cancelled my order for these saying they didn't have the correct load rating (besides being a 275/35 vs a 265/30).

FrederikC - thanks for making that! For me it was mostly things like "how many screws" or "what exactly is the padded panel under the steering wheel?" I think a few dozen more pictures would have helped me have more confidence on "am I about to break this or are we good?" :) But hopefully...

I think it has to do with how vins are assigned before the car is built.

I'm pretty sure tesla sold a batch of inventory cars to this dealer in December at a great discount for sales goals. I just took possession of a p85+ with autopilot that they listed a few days before Christmas that was similarly underpriced.

They def do have a printed manual unless it's semantics around the owners guide and quick reference.

FYI - I just took delivery of my P85+ with a march 2015 build date and 53xxx vin referenced earlier in the thread to close that loop.

On my 2013 S60 in the states if I open the drivers door it is at the very bottom right on a sticker. The date is in the top left of the sticker in the format "4/13" - which matches what is on the build sheet in the top left.

The build sheet specifically says March 2015 date of manufacture in the top left corner. The VIN decodes as a 2014 car by autotrader for example. Probably something with the way they assign VIN's, etc.

I literally just put a deposit down on a 2014 P85+ with a 53x VIN. It has autopilot, and the build sheet says it was a March 2015 build!! (it has things like the alcantara wrapped center post on the pano roof)
