    Tesla Autopilot maps

South Korea is very sensitive about maps. There's a NYT article that explains some of it. Travelers who want to go from Gimpo International Airport to the Gangnam neighborhood of Seoul cannot rely on Google Maps. Google Maps can provide directions only for public transport, not for driving, to...

Referral bonus just went live? ($1000 to buyer, $1000 to referrer)

Just got this email: Is this new? - - - Updated - - - Oops, this was already posted. Mods, please delete. I swear I searched for this and didn't find it.

Autopilot lane keeping still not available over 6 months after delivery

Just to be clear. I'm referring specifically to paying extra for the auto pilot feature, not the car itself. Yes, I have the hardware, but it's useless without the software that still hasn't shipped yet. We paid $2,500 extra to get features that they advertised auto-pilot as having: lane...

Autopilot lane keeping still not available over 6 months after delivery

I've been kinda disappointed about this, too. I went shopping in February, and told the sales guy I was going to wait to order until autopilot was available because that's really why I wanted the car. In fairness, he said "no promises, but..." that it was likely if I ordered immediately, by...

    Intelligent supercharger routing FAIL

I believe it has a strong priority for making you end up at your destination with as close to a full charge as possible, even if that means driving you almost right past your destination.

    Firmware 6.2

There's a little grey lever near the bottom of the charge port's back side that if I move seems to release the cable. Is this new? https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/230717/otherstuff/IMG_0256.jpg

Yes, a 2 week old P85D. I'll hunt around and see if I can find it.

    Firmware 6.2

My local service center called me back after I asked what the weird "charge port lever" message meant. Apparently there's a manual charge cable release lever you can get to inside the car, and for whatever reason the car thought mine was in the wrong position. They said if it happens again...

    Firmware 6.2

I'm wondering if an early version of the Model S port design used some kind of manual locking lever. I've seen outdoor rated high voltage connectors that have a locking lever that is just supposed to hold the connector in place, but if you have it 3/4ths in you can use the lever to sorta force...

    Firmware 6.2

Nope, didn't touch anything. Yeah, I'm betting this is either a leftover from an old unreleased design or something new.

    Firmware 6.2

My P85D notified me of the update. I told it to "Install Now". It counted down from 2 minutes, then made the "you're about to hit something, STOP!" noise and displayed "Never Insert Charge Cable Using the Charge Port Lever" / "Using Lever to Insert Cable Will Prevent Charging" and doesn't seem...

Layout of wires in HPWC (almost) prevents mounting it?

It's pretty easy to install with a magnetized bit. If he really struggles with it and doesn't have a magnetized bit, a piece of tape just barely holding the head of the screw to the bit works. It's a poor place for the screw hole, but electricians deal with tighter stuff all the time.
