Curious to know if anyone purchased the Tesla extended warranty for their new Model S Plaid.
https://www.tesla.com/support/extended-service-agreement
I wanted to add it but was told it's not being offered for the Plaid Models....
Not sure if everyone already knows this, but I didn't. As a current Tesla owner, I "referred" myself in purchasing my new Model S Plaid. In reading the web page I believed I should get 2000 free supercharging miles (1000 as the referer and 1000 as the recipient).
Everything goes as planned...
Not at all! I also have a 2012 Sig model S so I had a pretty good idea on what I was getting into. Truthfully, the 6 seater X isn't the best (imo) for people or space. The S is awesome all the way around. Not regret.
The UI is going to take some time to get used to. Very different than I'm...
I'm a late comer to the Plaid train here. Originally wanted the Plaid plus but.... I saw on Youtube that there were Plaid cars popping up on the "available now" page. I lucked out and grabbed a red with Black walnut interior. I originally wanted carbon fiber as that is what both of my other...
Thanks...
I was encouraged by #3 as I've read horror stories of cars being delivered with really subpar quality and the SA basically stating "take it or leave it...there are 10 more people that will take this car".
3. The store was "instructed by Fremont not to deliver any S that is not perfect;
I grabbed an "available now" car last week and it is a 436XXX. Do we assume these are cars with less quality or issues or just ones build and set aside waiting for a part to complete? I haven't received it yet.
I just grabbed one of the Plaid units from the "available now" page and am way behind on all the information here. I was able to "refer" myself, but am interested in learning more about the other incentives that I might be able to take advantage of. In CA. Thanks in advance.
Is there more...
I had the front window replaced in my 2018 Model X and now my voice commands or text message replies are not being "heard". O tried the usual reboots, etc. and nothing.
However, if I receive a phone call, the caller can hear me perfectly.
Are there two microphones in the X? Could one of them...
Washed my 2018 P100D Model X and saw the roof seals breaking apart and basically disintegrating. Called Tesla and was told this is a wear item and NOT covered under warranty. I was lucky to get them to agree to fix it "good will" but this definitely seems like a poor engineering design.
I...
Great information. Was you door opening and closing if you pushed the keyfob button?
Mine functions fine with the keyfob, just not the auto open on approach.
It seems that after the latest software update, my self presenting door stopped presenting itself when I walk up. I confirmed it can still open and close automatically using the key fob and toggled the button in the settings off and on but no change. I even rebooted the system
Any one else...
I’ve heard mixed data on the max speed allowed where a biker can split lanes. Does anyone have the “real” data for California? Last I heard was lane splitting was allowed as long as traffic is moving under 35 mph.
Heading to work yesterday, I always have motorcycles pull past me even though the car pool lane was moving 50mph plus.
I had one bike go by and raise his hand back at me. I figured I would save the video to check it out later.
Later down the road, I started to get over to exit, and noticed my...
I have something I want to share, but the upload doesn't seem to like the .mp4 that comes from the Dashcam.
I assume there are instructions somewhere on what format works. I just can't seem to find them.

I just received the software update (2019.16.2 73d3f3c) on my 2018 Model X (build 8-18) and it doesn't have the lane departure feature that the model 3's are getting.
I believe I have HW 2.5 so I'm confused why it would be different.
Thoughts?
Wow, OK. Original tweet from Elon said 6 months (stated in October). But I'm not surprised it's running late.
Tesla owners who ordered Full Self-Driving will get free HW3 upgrade, says Elon Musk
If you have access to a 3D printer, there are a few things on "Thingaverse" that work great in the Model X.
J1772 adapter holder.
Wireless phone charger
etc.
Congrats.
(2018 P100D Model X, 2012 Sig Model S)
My 2012 will open with a push of the button on the charger cable. It will not self close.
My 2018 model X requires me to either push and hold the trunk button on the fob OR . I can push on the charger door covr a couple of times and it opens (I haven't figured out exactly how this happens yet)...
Had the system installed in my X today (it was a cluster ......)
In any case, I asked about the stickers and hey said they were installed per the instructions.
On the far back corner window that is basically pitch black. NO WAY to see them from the outside (at least in a cloudy day).
I'm not...
Great information!
Side question: How long was the actual installation appointment? Is it just a plug-and-play and software update or do they need to run new wiring, etc.?
Does having ones check cashed mean they are starting the process or have finished the process and mailing out the stickers?
Seems the dates between check cashed and stickers received seems to vary quite a bit.
