    Show off your aftermarket wheels.

Nah, thank you Jason. Really great customer service. Let me know when you get another run on these. I might buy a spare rear wheel in case my wife bends one on curb!

    Show off your aftermarket wheels.

Here’s some pics my Avant Garde 580 wheels. Many thanks to Jason at www.GetYourWheels.com, who was absolutely awesome! He was very patient with my numerous questions, and he answered my emails promptly and happily. I bought wheels, tires and sensors from him, which arrived mounted perfectly...

Coated windshield impacting door openers and EZpass

Its important to note that we are talking about two different items here. EZPass boxes are Active transponder systems, analogous to Active RFID systems. These use self-powered RFID tags that continuously broadcast their own signal using a permanently sealed lithium battery. Active tags...

New P90D does 1/4 mile in 10.8 and 0-60 in 2.8s. Question: Does P85D get any love?

Mange takk, men CarAndDriver actually got 3.3 secs without a rollout. http://blog.caranddriver.com/tesla-loses-its-freaking-mind-introduces-762-hp-model-s-ludicrous-mode-new-base-model/

New P90D does 1/4 mile in 10.8 and 0-60 in 2.8s. Question: Does P85D get any love?

Thank you! People bought a 3.2 sec car and got a 3.1 second car at no additional cost. Some folks will never be happy. - - - Updated - - - The P85D performance is more than adequate for highway driving...as is the 85D, P85, and even 85. If there's an ego issue, some cars will never be able...

New P90D does 1/4 mile in 10.8 and 0-60 in 2.8s. Question: Does P85D get any love?

I configured a P90D with the same options as my P85D delivered last month, and the P90D was exactly $9,750 more expensive.

    [lolachampcar] Performance Upgrade Efforts

Champ, I am constantly amazed and grateful for the amount of knowledge you share with us! Wish Tesla would come out with adjustable upper rear control arms...I'd feel a whole lot better about the mod if I could buy the part from them.

    P85D Acceleration and Performance Statistics

Snowrider, thanks for the numbers. What do your fellow Swiss think about your P85D? Guessing you have one of the few in Lausanne.

    P85D Acceleration and Performance Statistics

Thanks for all that George. This is another point people forget about this car. Practically anyone can drive it fast. Many fast Rear Wheel Drive cars require a skilled driver or even a professional driver to get it off the line properly, and then skill is needed to keep it in a straight line...

Help me justify a P85D instead of 70D ($8k difference)

I do agree that it is not a good investment...but it's also true that probably NO $90,000+ Model S is a "good" investment. The price difference between the 85D and P85D is $20,000, not $30,000. With 7% tax, its about $21,400. The speed difference is 1.3 seconds, not .75 (4.4 vs. 3.1...

Help me justify a P85D instead of 70D ($8k difference)

Yes, I think you mentioned that earlier. Of course there are some who wish they'd would have gotten a 85D (which is why I said MOST (not all) were probably very happy with their P85D purchase). There's also probably an awful lot 85D owners who would have liked to buy the P85D as well. When...

Help me justify a P85D instead of 70D ($8k difference)

Cryptyk, one thing you can count on is that most people will support the decision they made for their particular choice of car, whether is be the 70D, 85D or P85D. There's a lot more people who don't have the P85D compared to the other models collectively, so you'll find a lot more "criticism"...

[updated with *] P85D 691HP should have an asterisk * next to it.. "Up to 691HP"

Good point. Yes, that is my understanding as well. The one foot roll out is the only practical way to eliminate the often very large difference in people's reaction times.

[updated with *] P85D 691HP should have an asterisk * next to it.. "Up to 691HP"

@Krisg81: After the hours and hours you've spent on this subject, this never crossed your mind? That perhaps a future update will unleash the car's full potential? Besides, like the others here, I'm getting nauseated by your endless whining. Every car manufacturer advertises the peak...

Smart Air Suspension VS Coil over Spring

This should not be a consideration, as cars with air can be run in HIGH if the owner wishes, which is higher than coil, and therefore even more less "likely to scrape." Besides, Standard is has plenty of clearance for nearly everything you'll encounter. And those with air have the option of...

Model S Panoramic Roof Sun Shades

I leave them in during the fall, summer and spring, and take them out in the winter. With the shades removed, the car ends up a little warmer while sitting outside during work. And the car is a little brighter inside during those cloudy winter months. - - - Updated - - - I have the same...

Photos of car interior taken apart for sound deadening

Ha ha. True. Our car prior the the 2014 was a diesel, so the 2014 Tesla was a huge improvement. Not saying the 2014 and earlier cars were loud...but because the driveline is so quiet, you notice things you didn't hear before. I think the biggest improvement in the 2015 cars was the reduction...

Photos of car interior taken apart for sound deadening

New cars are definitely quieter. I read before ordering our June 2015 MS that Tesla was improving sound insulation. Sure enough, the new car is much quieter than our Sept 2014 MS.

    19" stock tire life?

I don't disagree with above. But for others, it may be useful to point out that with the air suspension in low, even properly adjusted the rear camber is still VERY negative, and will cause greater wear on the inside of the rear tires. There is no camber adjustment for the rear, so even with a...

Are Europeans that unimportant that they can be handled as 2nd Class Customers?

I've had two Tesla's delivered in the last year here in the US. Both cars were perfect. The Service Center prep work and delivery, (done by Americans) was perfect. So since you brought the subject up, perhaps the real problem is with the Europeans on your end. You see, I was an exchange...

Do I need to reset rear wheel camber with these lowering links?

Not what I was talking about...was going off this statement "see if your local service center can do the alignment when the car is in the LOW setting, if this is how you drive your car 99% of the time. I've been thinking my next Tesla I'll probably do the same thing as you (links, air...

Upper Rear Link Build (Reduces rear camber to improve tire wear)

Lola, you are the best. Thanks for the quick reply. I'd like to run my car in low all the time...a rear camber adjustment would really be nice for that to reduce tire wear. I don't think the OpenEVSE folks sell them anymore. I searched their website for "camber"...yielded nothing. I don't...

Upper Rear Link Build (Reduces rear camber to improve tire wear)

Thanks for all that Lola! Any aftermarket rear camber adjustment parts you recommend yet? Would like to run my car in low all the time without chewing up the inside of my tires.

Do I need to reset rear wheel camber with these lowering links?

Sorry, not following you on this. I thought the rear camber could not be adjusted? I'd like to run my car in low all the time too, but won't I be riding on the inside of the tire all the time? The negative camber angle will increases as the car is lowered, and I can't change that. Thanks...
