The cars are shipped from the US to Europe by Wallenius Wilhelmsen. I entered the VIN into the Cargo ID field here: WWL That told me what ship the car was on. I then went to a ship tracker - I like fleetmon.com - and tracked the actual ship's progress.

Finally, the car is in Norway; I'm currently watching the live satellite feed, the ship is being led into port by a tug boat. Hopefully, that means we can pick it up next week...

I've been told that VINs are assigned in the order orders are received, but production happens in batches based on config; that way they build similar cars at the same time.
