Discussion : All discussion regarding Model 3 and Tax credit in model 3 subforum

Elon does have a track record for trying to accommodate potential buyers so they can take advantage of the $7500. It may be difficult to move production of the LFP batteries from China to the US in the next 3 months, but I believe he will do something about the Model 3 Long Range to bring it...

Model 3 2023 updates? Or what would you guys like to see?

Hardware V4, new exterior color choices, CarPlay and return the damned Homelink as standard! Most importantly, do something about producing the LFP battery in the US or lower the price of the Long Range version so that it qualifies for the $7500 in Jan 2023.

Is it worth to upgrade my 2020 Model 3 LR AWD to 2022?

Not sure of the timeline you're facing with the buyout decision, but if you can wait until January, did you factor in a $7500 tax credit that is waiting to be signed?

Has Tesla Build quality improved on new Model 3s in 2022?

Same here. Dec 2018, replaced the 12v battery and the side mirror required a new wire harness. Both fixed in my garage at home under warranty.

    Ohmmu 12V Battery Feedback

A youtuber in Cali has an Ohmmu battery for a year and just experienced this issue. He disconnected the 12v and Main power under the back seat and for the past month, has not received another error message, but I am sure it will happen to him again.

Crazy or no brainer? Trade 2018 LR RWD for 2023 SR RWD?

Try Carbuyerusa.com for a sale quote. I have a 2018 Midrange and thanks to the pandemic, only 13k miles on the odometer. Currently being offered 47.3K, but 2 weeks ago the offer was 50k and I should have jumped on it. I can buy a standard range M3 for $49.4k and have a brand new car without car...

2017-2020 Model 3 recalled for trunk/rear camera issue

Your post is 100% correct. It was odd, and not surprising, that Tesla was not getting the recognition deserved for being the biggest catalyst in the EV movement. However, I am not surprised why it happened. My personal opinion is, all business leaders should keep their political opinions to...

"Proactive" 12v battery replacement - good idea or overkill?

I have lived in Florida since the 80’s and it wasn’t long after that I noticed a 12v battery failure in every one of my ice vehicles averaging 3 years. I never skipped maintenance checks. Maybe salt air accelerates this issue.

Model 3/Y Yoke Style Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel [hansshow]

Lol. “Heating” It’s an Aroham wheel and it’s probably best I ask them to confirm.

Model 3/Y Yoke Style Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel [hansshow]

I have a non-heated yolk on my 2018 Model 3 and considering buying a 2022-23 Model 3. Does anyone know if I can transfer this yolk to a new Model 3? FYI - I don’t care about losing the beating function that comes with the new M3’s.

"Proactive" 12v battery replacement - good idea or overkill?

I’ve seen this question asked before and I have never gone more than 2 1/2 yrs on my Model S or Model 3 without replacing the battery. And yes, I plugged in ever night.

"Proactive" 12v battery replacement - good idea or overkill?

My 2015 MS was plugged in every night and unfortunately it did nothing to extend the life of my 12v batteries in the MS or my current M3.

"Proactive" 12v battery replacement - good idea or overkill?

My personal average for Non EV 12v batteries in Florida has been 3 years which of course heat plays a factor. I never received a reason why Tesla's batteries were only getting 1-1/2 years, but it may have something to do with the 12v battery cycling more frequently. I believe this issue goes...

"Proactive" 12v battery replacement - good idea or overkill?

I am surprised that your battery lasted 3 years. When I bought a new 2015 Model S, Tesla Service said the 12v battery is lasting an average of 1-1/2 years. They were right, I went through 2 batteries in 3 years of ownership. My 2018 Model 3 battery was replaced in 2-1/2 years and the Mobile Tech...

"Proactive" 12v battery replacement - good idea or overkill?

Thanks! I was not aware of this. I have a 2018 Model 3 and I think it will work for me, but not sure of the newer models.

Forgot to mention the above is from a rear wheel drive Model 3.

"Proactive" 12v battery replacement - good idea or overkill?

Yes, it will definitely work. You can find examples on youtube of tesla owners installing them.

"Proactive" 12v battery replacement - good idea or overkill?

I also had the battery failure on my 2018 Model 3 after 2-1/2 years. Telsa replaced it in my garage, but I have a reminder on my phone set for 1-1/2 years to replace it with the OHMMU Lithium battery since the car will no longer be under warranty after 4 years.

    2022.8.3

That is the same conclusion I came to. Cabin Analytics was not included in my summary and I also have a 2018 M3 with 2.5 hardware.
  21. FloridaGary

    2022.8.3

Yes, I have the latest phone app update and have not rebooted the main screen. I’ll give it a try, but I plan to ask Tesla. I wonder if this applies only to V3 hardware? I have V2.5.

    2022.8.3

Just received update 2022.8.3 on my 2018 M3. I should be able to toggle cabin camera analytics, but it doesn’t show up on my release notes. I am already data sharing, but nothing states “camera” analytics. What am I missing?

    Voice Commands after V11 update

Is anyone experiencing a problem with voice commands after the V11 update? I tried the same commands I always use, Display Tire Pressure, Display Odometer, Turn On Wipers and Navigate to ……. and none are recognized.

Farewell Model 3 and Associated Issues

I don't disagree with your assessment of FSD which is why I won't buy it, but if all the other gripes were experienced by the owners, Tesla would not be selling more cars each year. I've owned a 2015 Model S and now a 2018 Model 3 and in 6 years of ownership, only had 2 issues....one side mirror...

Average age of Model 3 owners?

I was 57 when I bought my 2015 Model S and 60 when buying my 2018 Model 3. Love them both and despite being fortunate to own higher end cars, Tesla has been the most enjoyable to own.

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

I had these 19in. Vertini’s mounted 8 months ago and love them. Good value for money and slightly lighter than the 19in sport wheels that Tesla offers.

12V battery replacement [by tesla mobile service]

I've lived in Florida for many years and I have never been able to go past 3 years on a 12v battery change....ever. Even my new 2015 Model S required a battery change within 18 mos of ownership. My Model 3 will be 3 years old this December and due to covid, haven't driven much for the past 18...

    Tesla hate

It's happened to me twice for no reason or provacation within 1 yr of ownership of the Model 3. It never happened in the 3 years of Model S ownership, so this may be a new thing since there are more Model 3's on the road. I think your right about "green is dumb. Fuel burns! F the planet...
