what is FSD 12.3 expected to do when it arrives at its destination?

Sounds pretty normal to me. What were you expecting? Yes, I'd like it to pull into my driveway, but we're not quite there yet.

FSD supervised does not require actually touching steering wheel

At least w 12.3.4, you must provide rotational torque every few minutes, cabin camera or not. You also can touch operate any of the steering wheel controls, like the volume control or any of the buttons. The wheel rotational requirement is significantly reduced from previous versions, but still...

    Charging Limited after Update

Do you have more than one wall connector? If you do, attempt a charge from the same WC the X is using, make sure it still charges at 48. Since your X is showing 24/24, it is very likely you have lost one of the 24 amp chargers. The other thing is the wall connector also controls max charge...

Battery Degradation Fixed by Long Distance Driving...

The other thing to keep in mind is, the point at which charging stops, is not always the same. I have both our cars set to charge to 75% at home, overnight. When I start out in the morning, I will have anywhere between 73% and 78% on our X, our Model 3 is even more variable. If you are...

New Model X Plaid Malfunction Rant/Story

The walk-up feature can be turned off or not, depending on your preference. It makes no difference to the driver door unlock mode (driver door only or all doors). If you set unlock mode for driver door only, you will not be able to open the passenger door remotely. The five passenger has two...

Help! What does this mean??? (PIC)

12 volt battery failure could occur at any time, driving or not. It is usually a very high priority fix, because it is simple, and a stranded Tesla owner is a really really unhappy camper. If they do not happen to have a replacement battery immediately available, it may add a few days to the...

Phone key problems with iPhone bluetooth

2024 Door Locks and Rear Storage

It sounds like you may have the door lock mode set incorrectly, it is on the Locks screen in settings. If you turn it on, the walk-up, phone and fob will only unlock the driver door and charge port. If you turn it off, it will unlock all doors and the trunk. I am not sure the service center is...

Anybody else that hasn't gotten the prompt to upgrade to UWB for the phone key yet?

Why on earth would that be helpful? Every time you walk up to your car the trunk opens? I don't think so. I have already had three or four updates, this spring. None of them mentioned that feature.
  12. DCGOO

Anybody else that hasn't gotten the prompt to upgrade to UWB for the phone key yet?

The only vehicle where precise location is an advantage, is the Model X, with its automatic door open feature. I was asked by my 2022 Model X, but not my 2019 Model 3. While I can't say for sure whether or not that feature exists on the Model 3. But UWB really would not make a difference to me.

It's really for survivable human protection. But It only runs for twelve hours. Multi-day it will shut off. The electronics will be fine, they were built to withstand very high temps, after it is in a car.

X90D battery being replaced with 75kwh battery under warranty!?

It doesn't work that way. Current drawn is actually less, because the voltage is lower. It is a lower voltage pack with fewer modules and fewer cells per module. It is going to produce less power. You can see that in the specs for the vehicle, lower acceleration and lower range.

Phone key support on the X did not arrive until the 2022 refresh. There is a lock mode control that can be set to unlock the driver door and charge port only, or unlock all doors. In newer cars there is a "Locks" panel in settings. I don't know where Lock Mode is located in legacy models...

Model X Tax rebate CO denied

It depends. I leased a Tesla in 2015 (won’t do that again). It was jointly titled/registered to my LLC, and myself. Actually I was listed first and my company second. I got the standard non-commercial rates. The question never came up.

Model X Tax rebate CO denied

The vehicle does not have to WEIGH over 6,000 lbs. Its GVWR must be over 6,000, which the five passenger X is, just barely. The biggest problem with "spinning up an LLC" to get the big write-off is, it requires a legitimate business purpose for the use of the vehicle. Yes, it is possible...

    Front Bumper Camera

Personally, I really doubt you will ever see a front bumper camera on our vehicles (although "not ever" is a bit hazardous in Tesla land). Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

You can thank NHTSA for that one. FSD used to slowly roll through a 4-way stop, until NHTSA got wind of it, and insisted FSD come to a COMPLETE stop at any stop sign. Annoying, but I think we're stuck with it.

FSD 12.3.3 first drive - safe, super boring

Automatic Set Speed Offset is a on/off toggle. As near as I can tell, the speed offset has no effect on "auto speed." The offset probably is there for Interstate Highway (freeway) only, where auto does not apply. I also could not detect any behavior difference with the profile setting. Even...

There is a setting under Autopilot "Automatic Set Speed Offset." Turn that off, and it disables the Max Speed Auto that now shows up in the dash. I haven't tried it yet, but I assume it will remove the sort of "Bat outa Hell" mode it feels like now.

Yes, I need to try that. 12.3.3 out of the box is fast!, like 45 in a 30 MPH local street. I only have 12.3 on my X, , and auto speed there is reasonable. Home charging on 110

Expect painfully s l o w charging. 12 amps at 120V is only 1.44 kw. To go from 50% to 80% will require a minimum of 21 hours. That assumes all the energy consumed is going to the charge, which never happens. If you open a door, or sit in the car, you will likely consume way more than 1.44 kw...

2023 X Plaid “Charging equipment not recognized” at 250kw station.

Rocky is correct. It is not possible to control the rate at a Supercharger. Besides it is likely a very high number. 250 kW divided by 400 volts is roughly 625 amps (Superchargers are all DC, and charge at the nominal voltage of the battery, 400 VDC). But none of that addresses your original...
