Traveling to Wisconsin, possibly mt Rushmore need help

When we made that trip in October we liked the badlands so much that we drive through them both ways, once during the day and once around sunset. That was spectacular. Mt Rushmore disappoints, Crazy Horse even more. But the black hills themselves are a must see, be sure to drive both the Needles...

TeslaMS tools for telemetry data visualization

Is there any way to get "streaming" to write to stdout (I want to pipe it into another command)? I seem to recall "-f stdout" worked at some point, but now it just writes to a file with that name. Thanks!

Full Self Driving - Real Time?

Looked to me like the car stopped twice in unexpected locations, and also drove awfully close by that little dog without slowing down like the situation called for. Still some way to go.

Micro SD Card for DR650GW-2CH Dashcam

I use MicroCenter house brand, 64GB is less than $20 and works well. Holds about a moderate days worth of driving, for long trips I keep a few handy. 128GB are supposed to work as well, have not tried yet myself though,

Any one bothered by the windshield wiper control?

Actually the VW automatic wipers are fabulous. The only time I need to use the wiper controls is to wash when the salt builds up in the winter.

    Comprehensive USB Bug List

I'd like to see source and position info saved in the driver profile. My wife and I use his and hers USB stick, currently it is a real PITA. She likes to play back hers alphabetically by song. I go random. So every time we switch profiles we have to figure out which USB is what (appears to be...

    All-Season Tires for Model S

I think compared to the Michelin Primacy the Nokian's might be superior on snow and ice, but at the cost of dry and wet performance. Here in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, I am much more likely to drive on dry or wet streets than on ice or snow (excellent snow cleanup), and there is a fair bit of...

Does this quarter panel look repairable?

Be sure to look up a local paintless dent repair shop and ask for an opinion. Some of these guys can perform miracles.

    Random... isn't?

Libel. Look it up. I take music very seriously, and do not own illegally downloaded songs.

    Random... isn't?

So, if in 100 rolls your dice never shows you the 5, is that true random or a poorly fabricated dice? As said, I know very well what random playlist generation is and I also know what true random is.
  13. G

    Random... isn't?

It's not true random when songs a, b and c have all played 5 or more times and songs x, y and z have played never. That is called sloppy programming instead. I know what true random is and that ideally it would track what has played. What I submit though is that it does neither.

    Random... isn't?

Of the music on my USB stick many songs have never been played, and some songs play quite frequently. Anybody else observing that? So we started playing songs in alphabetical order, unfortunately the system doesn't remember per-driver position or source (we got his' and her's USB sticks). :-(

Autopilot died in a tunnel, then came back

I wonder if radar reflectivity of the walls along with proximity to other cars using radar plays a role.

    Multiple Drivers

Profile handling could stand many improvements, like profile switching based on fob, store/recall audio settings (EQ, what media is playing, position etc), when two different fobs are detected also unlock the passenger door, what phone to connect to (as mentioned above)... And a number of other...

should I unplug during lightning storm?

Our house got hit by multiple lightnings a few weeks ago. One strike hit the transformer at the bottom of our driveway, a second seems to have come in through the door bell wires. A lot of stuff was destroyed, amongst it furnace, AC and garage door opener. Our Model S was plugged in using a...

Disappointing experience of curb contact with automatic parallel parking

I had the same thing happen to me last weekend. Hit the curb at quite some angle too, it was nowhere near making it or being able to correct by pulling forward. That after some rather odd nav behavior (tried to have me turn onto a light rail track, and went a couple extra blocks where it didn't...

    Dogs in a Model S??

Our slightly over 100 lbs Alaskan Malamute male rides in the trunk with the seat up (see post #145 in this thread). Initially that was for our sanity, as in the car before he'd stick his head between ours and do his "heavy breathing and drooling" routine, which was very annoying... We did not...

Music skipping with UHFS with USB, flac

Last time I had skipping a reboot fixed it. Probably a run-away process gobbling up CPU cycles.

    Homelink issues after upgrade

Messed up for me too. The point where it fires has changed for me and it is now just at the edge of the range, so it sometimes doesn't work. And it seems it cancels for any number of things (like changing the driver profile because someone else drove last), didn't use to do that in the last version.

One Lap of America in a Model S

Great stuff. I am sure you'll have other things to do during the race, but a quick daily update would be cool. Good luck!

    Any owners with big dogs?

Our 110# Alaskan Malamute loves riding in the trunk. For short distances his 50# sister goes in there too, he doesn't mind but she doesn't like that much. She usually rides in a hammock on the back seat. Yes, there is hair everywhere. Car had dog hair in it before we even paid (likely transfer...

Remote S: Tesla app for Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch

HVAC feedback is definitely messed up. For example when the AC is turned off manually (not in Auto mode) and one starts the climate control from the watch, both watch and phone app get pretty confused. They show the fan on, but still offer to turn HVAC on (which would actually turn it off). Very...

Winter Tires question - rolling resistance?

It always surprises me that folks make suggestions without considering the "where". The R2s may be the best snow and ice tires. They aren't that good on dry and wet roads though. Here in the urban areas of Minnesota we have excellent winter service (with some exceptions). So most of the time...

    Dogs in a Model S??

Exactly. Brand-new supercharger (at that time) in Hinkley MN, opened just 6 days prior. It had rained all day and the area behind the concrete was soaked. Keeper is a big dog (>100lbs) and wearing a brace he needs help in and out to ease the load on that hand (though he certainly will jump in an...

    Dogs in a Model S??

Exactly, glad to hear he is "howling good"! As far as the hair is concerned, no matter how careful you are, if you own malamutes you will always carry a piece of them (in form of some hairs) wherever you go! So near the end of our new owner intro my wife and I simultaneously noticed some dog...

    Dogs in a Model S??

These are Keeper (in the back) and LiLo: They love riding in the Tesla! We found the first dog hairs in our car as we were picking it up... Keeper went through a similar ordeal as Bo (who I hope is improving daily!). Fluke accident about a year ago, hyperextended tendons. They fused a joint in...
