    Wind noise from front windows

This picture was taken before SC adjusted it. It no longer has this gap and there is less road noise. However, I still notice air coming into the cabin from this same area. It's especially noticeable if I'm on the highway and a large vehicle like a truck or semi passes me on the driver side. You...

    Wind noise from front windows

We had this same issue. The gap was so big you could look out through it from the drivers seat. I was hearing lots of road noise. SC adjusted it and now there isn’t a massive gab but the rubber seal still isn’t tight against the window at the bottom. I still notice some road noise and cold air...

    Solved: wind noise

I’ve been shoving foam into crevices of every new car I’ve owned. Only thing that changes is the location.

    JL Audio ACS112LG-TW1

I've been wanting to complete this install myself for over a year now. I'm glad I came across your post and I'm glad you're happy with it. I was close to pulling the trigger on the NVX kit, but I'll trust JL subs any day over most. I was hoping to complete the install without removing the top...

    Model 3 subwoofer install.

My apologies as I've been busy and away from the forums. So I got the battery installed while on a business trip to Arizona. First of all, I do have experience with recording in home studios (rooms properly treated, expensive studio monitors, etc etc.) so I can appreciate a proper sound stage...

Vendor Model 3 Öhlins DFV Coilovers - Engineered by Redwood Motorsports ™

I'm glad to hear this. As mentioned, I love absolutely everything about this setup minus the bearings rattle. I've only driven about 2500 miles on them and there's been no decrease in rattle thus far so I'll be keeping an eye out for any announcements on the rubber lower mounts if the noise is...

Vendor Model 3 Öhlins DFV Coilovers - Engineered by Redwood Motorsports ™

I was going to say, "Let me know if you ever get around to removing the isolators and that helps," but the truth is I don't even have the tools or the knowhow to take apart my own suspension.:D You make a good point about the discount and being early adopters. All in all, I don't have any...

I also agree with this assessment. Overall I am impressed with the handling. I haven’t been to the track, but I am far more confident taking corners at higher speeds and overall the car just feels so damn smooth to me. That said, I do want to add one thing that I have been extremely disappointed...

    Model 3 subwoofer install.

I just read through this thread because I want to install a subwoofer. All was going well until someone mentioned installing an Ohmmu battery. Now I’m totally tempted to start there and then upgrade my sub. I too had a 1 farad cap in the 90’s and know the difference it made. I just wanted to...

    Solved: wind noise

I had a service visit for a different issue, but I pointed out the missing clip. I wanted to buy a replacement but they said I can't buy the clip by itself. They claim it comes as part of the entire plastic piece that spans the length of the car below the windshield. I would need to buy the...

    Rear wheel liners coming apart

I had the same thing going on in the rear driver side. I took it in for service this week thinking they would replace the piece, which they didn’t do. However. It’s not bent back into place and the gap went from over an inch to only a few millimeters. I’m going to keep an eye on it to see if it...

    Solved: wind noise

@duthchili - THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I purchased my 2020 M3 Performance in January and I've loved everything about it... except that damn wind noise at high speeds. It was almost like clockwork; I knew when I had crossed 80mph without looking at the screen because that's when the wind...

I'm still waiting for the installation instructions as well. I also emailed them to ask for their list of recommended installers and I haven't heard back on that either. I get the current economic situation, but it's still a little disappointing to have to wait days to receive a reply to an...

I’d love a comparison as well. I almost went for Mountain Pass before deciding to go with the Öhlins. I just installed staggered (9/10.5) 20” Vorsteineers with Tesla specific 235/35 and 275/30 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. I’m really looking forward to seeing Redwoods upcoming 19” squared...

All valid points @dfwatt. As you stated yourself, such scientific tests (and they’d have to be repeated numerous times to even then be a considered facts) are expensive and impossible, certainly not something I’m going to accomplish. I didn’t mean to stir so much sh*t up by offering my...

I don’t know if I’m allowed to post YouTube videos, but this guy is the person that mentions the reflectors and small bumps. He didn’t change tires or wheels, all he did was swap the stock suspension for the DFVs. Here’s the link: He has a follow-up review after taking his S2000 to the track.

You’re absolutely correct. Unfortunately I don’t have access to a skid pad. That said, I’ve seen enough review videos on YouTube of folks swapping out their suspension for Öhlins DFVs and proceeding to knock off seconds from their previous best lap time. Yes, some also added brakes and better...

I ordered the performance sport version. There’s several roads near my house with long stretches of cracked asphalt that really rattle the car. I can’t wait to do a before/after comparison between stock P3D suspension and the Öhlins. I’ll use an app that senses vibrations to have a more...

Given that the V3 that KW sells specifically for the Model 3 is the only one close in price to the MPP variant, it’s safe to say the V3 is a good target for comparison. So in that regard, KW V3 vs Ohlins DFV reviews are good enough for me until someone installs their first set on their Model 3...

FWIW, I googled “kw vs ohlins” because whereas this unbiased comparison isn’t possible yet with the Model 3, it has been done with other vehicles on the road and on the track. The posts I found on the various forums speak for themselves. I suggest you see for yourself.

Vendor Model 3 Öhlins DFV Coilovers - Engineered by Redwood Motorsports ™

I apologize in advance but I have a newb to coilovers question for either @RedwoodMotors or anyone else with experience. Given that these are height adjustable, how easy is this to do at home? Would I just be able to raise the car, remove the tire and make the adjustment or is it more...

I'm fairly certain I don't have lowered front suspension on my P3D

I have a new 2020 as well, less than 100 miles on it still. I’d say my ride height looks the same as yours. I am on a fairly flat surface and my measurement from floor to center of fender is 28 1/4”. It still feels high to me so I’m looking into springs or coil overs.

EoY 2019 Deliveries: Quality Control Thread

I turned down delivery of my P3D due to 4 or 5 dents/dings on doors and panels on both sides of the car. Absolutely unacceptable. Performance Waiting Room

I’m in LA and I’m switching from an XC90 T8 as well. I was paying Wawanesa around $120/mo. Tesla insurance was quoting me around the same price but with $1000 deductibles. I tried Ameriprise through Costco and I’m going to pay around $90/mo with $250 comprehensive/$500 collision plus tons of...

    Performance Waiting Room

I’m going to laugh if the grey performance wheels aren’t the only thing that changed, and it turns out our P3D’s come with software limited 100 packs. What better way to make money off this ludicrous update than to already have thousands of cars that can pay for the update.

    Performance Waiting Room

Absolutely stunning! White was my second choice and it looks so good with the new wheels. How is the spoiler fitment? Does it sit flush against the trunk all the way across now? Wondering if they’ve finally fixed this fitment issue.

    Performance Waiting Room

Long time lurker, first time posting here. Los Angeles Ordered 12/11 No VIN yet, but my SA said I was slated to be matched next week. So far from the delivery pictures I’ve seen, it appears Tesla is shipping out P3D’s with spoilers and badges installed. Can anyone comment on the spoiler...

Anyone received their refreshed Model S?

When you said the new lights didn't seem as bright, you mean the LED eyebrow right? Have you driven at night with the new LED headlights? Curious to know if it's a big improvement in brightness over the HID lights.

    major facelift panel gap issues!

It's a good thing only showrooms are receiving the refreshed models at this time. Gives Tesla time to tweak and perfect before customers start getting their orders.
