Picked up new MS, rear-ended the next day

Hang in there. This past summer, a woman pulled out of her parking spot next to mine in a valet parking spot at the front entrance of Terranea in Palos Verdes while I was visiting SoCal. My car was at a Torrance Tesla Authorized body shop for more than 5 weeks. Hang in there it will get...

    Volkswagon - 300 mi in 15 min...

Who actually believes what Audi or VW says anymore?... When it's actually tested, the system will probably optimize the charging after sensing that a testing unit is measuring the rate of charge. When you actually use it, the system in the car will probably just back down to the rate that you...

Rear Liftgate Sunshade - Model S

I did tinting and sunshade. You can mount the blackvue rear camera so the sunshade is covering over it and not interfere with the camera lens. The tinting does diminish the quality of the recordings a bit.

    Firmware 7.1

I also got the upgrade to 2.32.23. I always do them right away. Recently had them replaced due to an auto accident while car was parked so it may be an issue from...

    Front License Plate Solutions

Car wash?!... Just kidding... I take them off when I wash my car but always have them on in San Francisco since cops notorious for handing out those fixit tickets. I got fined for my other car once and didn't pay have to pay the fee after showing the correction to CHP at their offices.

    EZ Pass Mounting- Problem Solved

In Northern California, velcro-ing the interior white FasTrak transponder under the rear parcel shelf works pretty well on the bridges. Haven't tried in the SFO parking lot yet. Anyone try this method other states' or even SoCal's EZPass/FasTrak systems or in the refreshed S? It's so well...

    Just found this from Heatshield

Oops I meant 10 degrees cooler...! Oh, and yes, you roll them up and there is a velcro strap. It's a bit awkward but love the custom fit. I'm pretty consistent now in putting up the rear passenger row window ones by keeping the backmost suction cup on the window to allow the window shields...

    Just found this from Heatshield

I got the heat shield product for the windshield and 4 passenger doors on my Model S. Windshield one is great but you can't really get out of the car if you suction cup all the passenger door ones on the Windows. When you open a door the window for that door opens slightly and thus jams the heat...

    Using Homelink

Thanks! I ordered the gold/black Heatshield windshield and 2 pairs of side window shades also for my Model S - one for front seat Windows and other for back seat Windows. I am complete now. :) now I can park in the Arizona desert and not cook the inside of the car - MCU and all. I think I'm...

    Integrated Dash Cam

Coincidentally just watched a YouTube video about the installation of this device. It's from a Chinese company. Don't know anything about it but it seems like only a front facing dash cam. I have Blackvue 650 front and rear dash cam and love it. Great quality. Installed by my detailer.

    EZ Pass Mounting- Problem Solved

According to our FasTrak program here in NorCal, the regular transponder is not waterproof and the inside of the nosecone can get wet so the external version is better as you are doing. With the newer internal transponders, there is a 3 position switch that you should at least access once to use...

    EZ Pass Mounting- Problem Solved

Here in Northern California, if your license plate is registered with FasTrak, there is no penalty fine if your transponder isn't detected since the cameras will just pick up your license plate and just charge the regular toll fee. Thus, experimenting with different options for where to put the...

    EZ Pass Mounting- Problem Solved

Here's a pic. Just flip up the parcel shelf which is very felt-like. The Fastrak transponder had Velcro strips already on the back and conveniently sticks to the under surface of the flap. Then flip the parcel shelf back down so you don't block the view out the rear window. Well hidden and out...

    Air suspension

I was referring to Diavel's comments about his MS where he stated that he was eating through his MS tires which are 21s. I wanted to get a better understanding of why the 21s wear down so much faster since it seemed that it was suggested that it was the presence of air suspension and not the...

    EZ Pass Mounting- Problem Solved

I don't use mine much either. I tried holding it out the window the other day and it didn't work. Probably holding it at the wrong angle. The exterior one can be mounted behind or inside the nose cone without a front plate holder. I think they use double sided tape at the dealer.

    EZ Pass Mounting- Problem Solved

What happens when an OTA update fails...

Yes. You have to confirm it. If I recall correctly, you have several choices: update now, update at set time or postpone. While updating, everything turns off. You can open the door but that's about it. So hope you don't need the car. It's like updating your OS on your computer.
