    Confused on which CPO

They generally cover everything for the CPO under the limited warranty. I didn't pay for the service plan but did take it in every year and paid the service charge each time. they did fix a number of minor issues during these 4 years.

    Might switch to Taycan

I've been thinking for a while now that the first legacy automaker who partners with Tesla for the charging network is going to have the best chance of surviving the transition successfully.

    Boy Am I Pissed Now.

like every other service station that has figured it out, Tesla needs to under promise and over deliver. if a job takes 3 hours, say come back tomorrow. everyone happy when you get a call in the evening saying you can come pick up car if you want to

It's too late, my MCU1 Died....

MASTER THREAD: Tesla Insurance Services in California

Or you could just do it, save $110 right away (you're welcome) and then change back if you hear enough negative press on the forum that we're obsessively checking anyways, saving 220 per month till then

After low ball offers by Carmax and Tesla, sold it myself - Huge Difference!

I doubt this is as big an issue as the forums make it out to be, knowing multiple owners with 2012/2013's pushing 100K who had no MCU work done ever. I just plan to deal with mine at the time if the issue ever pops up

    Just got 12.1 update.

I noticed the pick up on video elements! Curious if you can kick off an SSl VPN connection from it now and actually get some work done :) Previously impossible even with a good Wi-Fi connection. Anyway, looking forward to the update. When it rolls around to the legacy cars...

Anyone going to upgrade to FSD before March 18th?

logical...if FSD happens, you save on not having to teach them to drive :)

Supercharger V3 and Model Y unveil

i thought the best part of the reddit thread was that the new design will allow for no need to pair the stalls, cabinets can share power so there shouldn't be any more issues with less than max power.

    Should We Be Concerned?

you're right, that was a simplistic answer. However, I have never found a sales person who gave me satisfactory answers about my car questions when I was looking and it finally ended up being a combination of reading the forums and talking to owners before I made up my mind. I took delivery at...

    Firmware 8.1

I had the passenger door unlock problem a year ago on just my wife’s profile but they had to some piece of hardware to resolve. I’m guessing it’s not related to the current firmware issues. YMMV of course

Model S autopilot in instrument cluster

Those little flashy things on the mirror are far from perfect (nothing in the real world is) but I agree, better than nothing. Looking forward to the Tesla implementation

How reliable is your Model S?

Would you buy a car with average reliability that you will love, or one with better than average reliability that you won't bother to name?

    Software Update 2018.14

Thanks for the responses. Looks like MCU2 with 2018.14 is returning the 297-320 scores while the older hardware has the 174 and doesn't change with the update. The newer hardware look significantly more capable of handling newer webpages though Tesla is still throttling content like video.

What does it mean when a problem is escalated to engineering?

Typically means that there is no known workaround that the service center or support folks are aware of, and that someone with engineering access to the product will check what data is available (including the logs) to comment on what the problem could be. Sometimes the engineer will be able to...

Discussion for Model S owners considering moving into a Model 3

Thanks for putting this list together. Though already mentioned, reiterating that potential for FSD definitely should make the Pro's list and loss of supercharging is not a big con especially if the MS is your daily driver and you have to deal with a commute in the foreseeable future
