I crashed my new model 3: here’s what I’ve learned so far.

Great write up. Sounds like a “so you’ve been in an accident” piece of paper that lives in the glove box would have been good

When will AU have Autopilot on par with the US?

Wouldn’t the correct answer be “never” since the US features will always be growing and we’ll be always following? Maybe a better question is how far behind is our AP to theirs?

    Vehicles blocking charging spots

Are you sure? A common practice to people that do this is to plug them in. If you bring the charger up to the door it should open automatically. Then they’ll get fees for not charging but being plugged in

    Articles re Tesla—Fact or Fiction?

I always thought that a product that would let you do this would be in demand. It probably already exists but if it didn’t it should. It could change words slightly with alternates, adjust spacing and punctuation all to create a unique letter

Why are they allowed to publish lies?

It's actually a New York Post article republished. But I agree, this is why journalism is dead. No one cares to check any information. Even down to SpaceX being a total failure is just made up rubbish.

How’s the wait going for the Aussie 3?

Painfully slow. Haven’t bought anything else. Planning to spend about $75k on Model 3

When are we likely to see first Model 3 deliveries in Oz?

I think Mid to late 2019. If you work off the assumption that they are 6 months behind and the starting point was early 2019 to me that means Sept 2019 is an aiming mark.

    Powerwall in Australia

2 X Zcell is going to set you back close to $40k just for the batteries not including PV. At this point with limited data Powerwall is still the cheapest option.

    6.4 kWh now?

The Australian first Powerwall owner said his was rated to 5,000 cycles. That's certainly impressive if true

Do I need to buy an inverter for Powerwall if I already have one for my rooftop solar

Fronius Symo Hybrid and the SolarEdge Storedge are the two current compatible inverters but they are really for new builds. If you have existing solar SMA are releasing a cheaper inverter for those applicationsz

Leasing a Tesla, Company purchase and more

Good news from the accountant. It's not as if I'll be claiming a lot back on the vehicle as I'm not a tradie but he still recommended buying it through the company over personal + business use. I'd go into specifics of I understood them. ;)

Leasing a Tesla, Company purchase and more

I'm in the ACT region so not a lot of kms! That said last year I did manage to do 15,000kms through a fe trips to Sydney. With a Model S or 3 I would plan on a lot more trips to Sydney and Tassie so maybe a few more kms once I get it. We'll ill see he's the accountant says about what the best...

Leasing a Tesla, Company purchase and more

Exactly. I said I think I can claim it. Not that I'm going to claim it when it's not legal. Has anyone else bought a Tesla under a company structure?

Leasing a Tesla, Company purchase and more

I'm interested in purchasing a Model S or eventually a Model 3. I'm interested in leasing or other options but am unsure of the structure and how it work. I also have my own PTY LTD company so would be interested in buying it under the company for tax purposes. I'm also interested in doing the...

    New Player

It's a lead acid system. That's how they they work. This system is nothing new. Just the same old batteries people have been using for years. They are just smart enough to constantly refer to Tesla and how they are "cheaper" in their press releases. The key figure they never release is the...

Inspired by Tesla Powerwall, began work on how to make the Earth Greener

To clarify: Powerwall uses NMC not NCA which is a manganese heavy variant of lithium ion batteries that gives a deeper depth of discharge and more frequently cycling. The warranty on the 7kWh daily cycler is 3650 cycles (once per day) but battery is rated to 5000 cycles 13.7 years. At the...
