More complaints about Supercharger overcrowding (moved from California Superchargers forum)

As someone who makes frequent trips between LA and San Diego, I can definitely say San Diego desperately needs another supercharger location. I'm typing this waiting 4th in line at 9pm on Saturday night to go home. A bit cold for SD and just looking to charge to safely make it to San Clemente...

Are the premium upgrades worth $5,000?

If all you want is the HEPA capability, I would definitely pass. I'd put the money to the bigger battery first over the premium package.

    Model S - Headliner Gap?

My gap between headliner and all glass roof is just over 1/2" at both b-pillars and just under 1/2" in the rear. It's flush up front. When I brought it to the service center they said they couldn't do anything to correct it and it was within tolerance. Yeah, years of model s builds and still...

What Swag did Tesla give you at delivery?

I received nothing but paperwork and a handshake. So inconsistent.

    Autopilot 2.0 is dangerous

I'm not happy as I really have to pay extra attention in any scenario except a straight highway without an overpass sign. Forget streets. I'm still optimistic that they will eventually get there. It's like housebreaking a puppy. Always have to pay attention so there isn't an accident and hope...

Is Tesla opening two SuperCharger sites a day anytime soon?

That Tesla blog was one of the funniest things I've read this year. I'd be happy if they managed to complete what they planned by end of 2016 this year.

Wind noise in full glass roof new Model S

I ordered the all glass roof sight unseen. I like it except for the excessive wind noise at highway speeds. I brought it to the service center to diagnose and they said it's 'normal' which I find hard to believe. My exterior gaps aren't as bad as some have mentioned here so I started looking...

    NVidia Booth CES 2017

Curiously, I didn't hear Nvidia mention anything with regard to Tesla during their keynote speech. They did announce partnerships with Audi and Mercedes at CES. Also, the Nvidia autopilot demo hardware/software was done using a Lincoln sedan. Personally, for me it reinforced my desire to own a...

When are we going to be able to use the 360 Surround Cameras for Parking?

I got to try a Bolt during the holidays. The birds-eye was cool, but, I liked how you could switch the rear view mirror to a wide angle rear view camera. I'm sure these will all come in the next iteration of the ms and probably in the m3.

Picking up my Model S tomorrow!

I confirmed 11/20 and asked for soon as possible. Was promised by OA and DS it would get to me by end of year. Nope. My Tesla finally updated with delivery range of this week, but, my DS called me to arrange a date for next week. He said they aren't doing any deliveries this week (not sure why)...

Anyone Else Worried About Not Getting Delivery in December?

Well, I guess Santa decided I was naughty this year. My DS told me today that my car looks like it will be ready next week, but, won't be delivered until early January. No explanation on why it's taking longer than others have reported here. A bit annoyed on the over-promising and...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

I confirmed over a week earlier and still waiting. I'm thinking the only thing that could explain this is something got rejected in qc and they are waiting for replacement parts.

List of all P100D inventory cars

Wow! Interesting and a bit depressing as I wait for my build. I wonder if all the other versions of the s are of similar nature.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

It's amazing how inconsistent Tesla notifies the buyer. My Tesla has shown in production for two weeks now. I've never received any email though after my confirmation. I've pinged my DS a couple of times and I just get "it's nearing completion" reply. I'm now wondering based on another thread...

Anyone Else Worried About Not Getting Delivery in December?

Ordered and confirmed 60D on 11/20. My Tesla switched to 'in production' on 12/8. Nothing since. No emails. DS is mia. Communication is really not Tesla motors strong suit.

    Grey seats going away...

That's a shame. I really like the gray and black interior look. That's what I ordered. Just in time it looks like.

Anyone Else Worried About Not Getting Delivery in December?

Forgot to mention the other reason for not being optimistic. The last Tesla quarterly earnings report had thousands of cars which were in transit that didn't make the quarter end. I'm thinking it'll be the same this quarter.

Anyone Else Worried About Not Getting Delivery in December?

FWIW, when I ordered and confirmed on 11/20, I asked about delivery by 12/23 as I am out of the country for two weeks after that. My OA said he was 99% confident that it would be done. As My Tesla still shows in production queue with Dec-early Jan, with each passing day, I'm feeling less optimistic.

Be honest: is SCing on a long trip annoying?

I was not there. I read about it on the tesla forums. Sounds like it's still down based on reports. Before the major travel day too.

Tesla Model S CPO Website - Now Live

I occasionally peek the ev cpo site to see what's there. I always ignore the Canada/Europe/HK lines, but, for some reason, the Europe/HK inventory number caught my eye today. 775 listed. Seems like an awful lot. Is it typically this high?

The time is now, save $2k on a Model S 60

Does anyone know if the cost to unlock the 60 to 75 was kept the same or was it reduced by $2k?

Be honest: is SCing on a long trip annoying?

I am curious which route you are taking for the San Diego - Atlanta trip. If relying on supercharging, this trip shows some major gaps in US coverage.

Be honest: is SCing on a long trip annoying?

Not sure if this was mentioned, but, the Barstow supercharger station was out this weekend (maybe still?). If driving to/from Las Vegas to SoCal and didn't know about this beforehand, this would be a major bummer!

Model S 60: Made a document to help me decide (could help you too)

Nice summary. I agree, if I were in the market at all for a model s and money were an object, the s60 or 60d makes the most sense especially ordering by the 22nd to not get hit by the $2k increase, miss the $1k referral or free supercharging. It's got AP2 (new video is very promising), decent...

Tesla Unveils The Model S 60 at $66K..... effects on the Model 3

I doubt it will have much of an impact at all. Still some $30k over the m3. And the listed range is less, 210 miles vs the 215 Musk stated at the m3 reveal.
  27. M

Is buying a Model S still worth it?

Yeah, reading his expression on the question, it seems like this will be. Hints seem to be there, wiring diagrams uncovered, test mock ups on existing ms spotted. If Tesla announces this in the next m3 reveal by end of year, I can't imagine it would not impact ms/x sales w/o implementing it in...

Is buying a Model S still worth it?

I personally don't see this happening. That's quite a premium and I would think if that much, one would go for the model s now to make sure they get the federal tax credit plus whatever state credit one gets. I think deep down, this is what's really keeping me from seriously pursuing a...

Is buying a Model S still worth it?

To the OP, I also waited early in line on the 31st to put down a deposit on a model 3. I have been looking for a cpo model s until the 3 is available as a new model s is a financial stretch for me. Here's my opinion for what it's worth. If you can easily afford the new model s, go for it now...

What will separate S from 3?

Lol! I was going to say $36,500 (announced $35k for vs $71.5k for base 70). Of course assuming base ms doesn't rise by the time the m3 hits production. Other than that, here's my guess of what will separate m3 vs ms: - m3 has mechanical door handles - m3 has mechanical truck release/closure -...

What is the value of autopilot and electric drive?

What got me thinking about the Tesla was visiting a friend of mine in LA who has gone off the power grid. He's powered by solar and switched to two electric cars, one being a model s. He wants to have a sustainable future for his kids. It convinced me. He has a pre-AP car, though, is considering...

What is the value of autopilot and electric drive?

Had an interesting discussion over some beers last night with co-workers when they found out I am shopping for a Tesla. Two items came up. 1. We were trying to see what the cost value of autopilot is. I saw that someone incredibly added autopilot to a P85 (Autopilot Retrofit on Classic P85 |...

    Tesla autopilot vs Mothra

Apologies if this got posted already as I haven't seen it. Tesla Autopilot disabled by giant moth in Nevada desert Question about the radar in autopilot capable cars. The Tesla response seems to imply that it should function better in the refreshed models due to new placement. Also curious...

Anyone received their refreshed Model S?

They added another 20 or so new (50 miles) model s to the inventory list today. I am assuming these are pre-refresh models since the pics are of the older model and fully priced at the old price. I am also assuming they'll keep building and adding to the inventory list until some old parts...

Anyone received their refreshed Model S?

No, I'm in Los Angeles this week for work where Tesla's are a dime a dozen it seems. I haven't been to Park Meadows. It's a bit of a trip for me to get to Denver.
  36. M

Anyone received their refreshed Model S?

Agreed. As someone wrote in another thread, if you were to return the car with a few hundred/thousand miles on it, you think the used value is only $5k less? Aside from ones listed at 50 miles, you're basically being offered an older, used car that some may have treated like a rental. I visited...

Tesla Model S CPO Website - Now Live

Good thing I haven't been holding my breath waiting for the flood of CPOs. Congrats to those who've been able to find one. What I don't understand about all the inventory cars vs CPOs is that the inventory should be the ones used for loaners, right? Isn't this what Elon Musk stated when he was...

Why would anyone buy Inventory over CPO or New?

For those '50' mile ones, I would agree given the new build times don't seem terribly long. I'm sure they'll rush to get as many delivered by end of June. Also, add the slipstream wheels for those who prefer the look of them over the default ones. For the ones that have been used as demos (some...

    CPO's are Back

My view is until the inventory cars gets cleared, I don't think you'll see any recent/low mileage CPOs. And at the rate the inventory is going, the CPOs will be competing with the model 3.

Tesla Model S CPO Website - Now Live

After talking to someone at a Tesla showroom this afternoon (he hinted strongly that Tesla is trying to clear inventory before CPOs) and based on a Tesla email I got this morning (touting new model s design along with a mention and link to inventory cars), I am convinced this is the case. I...

Tesla Model S CPO Website - Now Live

IMHO, Tesla will have to offer better pricing to clear out their inventory. I admit I am a bit flummoxed by Tesla's delay and reluctance with regard to CPOs.

Tesla Model S CPO Website - Now Live

Looks like a ton of inventory model s got added today (200-ish), but, not a single cpo. Interesting. Does make me wonder if a lot of people backed out and Tesla needed to build to work through parts they had in stock.
  43. M

Tesla Model S CPO Website - Now Live

Why is it that these CPOs are available to Tesla employees, but, not on their website? I'm also wondering now with the refresh/updates of the model s, if Tesla will revise the discounts on the ones in inventory more aggressively to move them?

    2016 Model S Refresh Mega-thread

I reserved a m3, but, if there is a significant refresh of the s, I would order one. Aside from some of the items listed above like led headlights and vented seats, I am hoping Tesla adds/addresses the following: - better sound insulation from front motor (maybe i would get used to it, but, i...

How does the trunk work on the Model 3

I loved my '90 Acura Integra for the same reasons. Did a cross country move in it. Had it over 10 years and 200k+ miles with no issues. It's funny to me all those who refer to the model s as a 'sedan' when it's really a hatchback. IMHO, the design is great. Just wish it gave one more inch of...

So what does the M3 mean for the MS?

I am curious if there is anyone here who actually got to sit in one of the model 3 prototypes about the headroom. For the size of the model s, I was really surprised how low the headroom is in the rear seats, even with pano roof. With body color, my head hits the roof. I'm not particularly tall...

    Model S whine

I agree with those who find the motor whine annoying in the D models, though not too noticeable if I have the audio volume set at 8+. Reducing that noise is one of the things I am hoping for in the much assumed refresh.
  48. M

So what does the M3 mean for the MS?

I really can't see how the model 3 doesn't have some negative impact on the current model s especially given Elon Musk's most recent tweet about the model 3. The price point of the model s as is or any previous incarnations does not scale in an appropriate ratio. Also, although one can not gauge...
