Supercharger - Irvine, CA - Walnut Ave. (at Jeffrey Rd., LIVE 4 Dec 2020, 8 V3 stalls)

Reports of 12 more stalls near completion on the other end of this shopping center on Reddit, These are behind the Kindercare at the North End, whereas current ones are on the East end.
  2. R

    Supercharger - Tustin, CA (LIVE 16 Nov 2021, 8 V3 stalls)

Permit finally issued! Also some information on "electrical services." I'm no electrication, but 12 stalls maybe?
  3. R

    Supercharger - Irvine, CA - Culver Drive (LIVE 17 Apr 2021, 16 V3 stalls)

Family photos on opening day. 14/16 in use on a Saturday afternoon. Can't speak for speeds as I was nearly full when I got here
  4. R

    Supercharger - Beaver, UT

Started March 23, Open April 10? Things like an 18 day install for 8 x 250kw gives me hope we can effectively fight climate change. Hopefully someone, anyone, will copy this prefab idea for CCS charging.

    Supercharger - Irvine, CA - Culver Drive (LIVE 17 Apr 2021, 16 V3 stalls)

Nearly there, some landscaping left to do. Not sure about transformer but seems like it is close.
  6. R

    Supercharger - Irvine, CA - Culver Drive (LIVE 17 Apr 2021, 16 V3 stalls)

Its 16! 11 in the first row and 5 more on the other side. Construction moving along nicely

    Supercharger - Irvine, CA - Culver Drive (LIVE 17 Apr 2021, 16 V3 stalls)

Sorry, you would need a closeup of this thing? https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/attachments/pxl_20210213_200149159-jpg.636500/

    Supercharger - Irvine, CA - Culver Drive (LIVE 17 Apr 2021, 16 V3 stalls)

Making progress. It was hard to get a picture with some perspective, but I believe there will be 11 stalls. There are four white tarp wrapped boxes that look like cabinets.
  9. R

    Supercharger - Irvine, CA - Culver Drive (LIVE 17 Apr 2021, 16 V3 stalls)

Construction has started and looks pretty far along. 10 stalls if I had to guess, but I leave it to you all
  10. R

    Supercharger - Irvine, CA - Culver Drive (LIVE 17 Apr 2021, 16 V3 stalls)

New fences are up in the general area where you'd expect this SC to be. Not 100% this is for SC yet but it is likely. This location is about as good as you could hope for this shopping center: easy entrance/exit back to the freeway, slightly less traffic than other entrances, and good...

    Supercharger - Irvine, CA - Main Street (LIVE 29 Dec 2020, 24 Urban + 16 V3 stalls)

Good news everyone, I think: This is an Urban SC, but it is 20 stalls by my count. Convenient location next to El Torito Grill as well as some new commerical space going in on opposite end of property (probably more restaurants). Much needed, good to see Irvine/Tustin with so many new stalls
  12. R

Supercharger - Anaheim, CA - East Katella Ave (LIVE 23 Dec 2019, 16 V3 stalls)

Right around 30%. I was expecting to get over 125kw. My guess is power output is limited until after the holidays, just in case
  13. R

    Supercharger - Irvine, CA - Main Street (LIVE 29 Dec 2020, 24 Urban + 16 V3 stalls)

Looks like there was a bit of an oopsie in the building next to parking structure. Water main break and a bunch of flooding. Probably doesn't help things. Broken Water Main Floods Irvine Office Building
  14. R

Supercharger - Anaheim, CA - East Katella Ave (LIVE 23 Dec 2019, 16 V3 stalls)

Just to hype everyone up: EVI just did a 8 stall V3 site in Ehrenberg and it seemed to only take about 10 days to get it online from start of construction. Therefore this station will be completed like any day now, surely!
  15. R

    Supercharger - Ehrenberg, AZ

There's some bobcat-type construction equipment and piles of old concrete they ripped up initially. I think they're done with construction of all the functional stuff, just cleanup and maybe some landscaping left to do
  16. R

    Supercharger - Ehrenberg, AZ

Its open! Paint is fresh and still fences and equipment to be hauled off. Maxed at 115kw in Model X, but a Model 3 owner told me he was at 180kw initially. Thank you so much Tesla team! Cashier inside said it 'only took them about a week.' Imgur

    Supercharger - Ehrenberg, AZ

Wow, amazing if they get it done!! Tell the electricians to hang around tomorrow for all the high fives they can handle. Much appreciated
  18. R

    Supercharger - Ehrenberg, AZ

I'll be able to get pics Wednesday if open. If not, we will have to keep cruising to try and get from Indio to Goodyear to avoid the lines at Quartzsite. Fingers crossed
  19. R

Supercharger - Anaheim, CA - East Katella Ave (LIVE 23 Dec 2019, 16 V3 stalls)

Some will undoubtedly question the necessity of putting a V3 250kw charger in the Hooters parking lot.
  20. R

    Supercharger - Irvine, CA - Main Street (LIVE 29 Dec 2020, 24 Urban + 16 V3 stalls)

Some additional info: -The same real estate company that did the Downtown San Diego supercharger bought this office complex last year. They are doing some substantial remodeling of the buildings, and completely demo'd the McCormick and Schmidt's restaurant that used to be attached to the...

Supercharger - Irvine, CA - Michelson Dr. (Park Place, LIVE 19 Oct 2019, 12 urban stalls)

Irvine - Michelson is really nice for locals, but I'm hopeful about the Irvine - Main location for 405 folks. No signs of construction yet as of Friday (still in permitting) but there is a fenced off area on the first floor off Gillette Ave. That would be pretty convenient ingress/egress to...

Supercharger - Irvine, CA - Michelson Dr. (Park Place, LIVE 19 Oct 2019, 12 urban stalls)

Yes! Took some pics and it appears supercharger construction is well underway at this spot. There is a white cabinet waiting to be placed. A concrete pad with 8 tubes sticking out of it. Directly adjacent to the pad are 4 tubes (and a smaller one?) sticking out of the ground and attached to the...

Supercharger - Irvine, CA - Michelson Dr. (Park Place, LIVE 19 Oct 2019, 12 urban stalls)

Drove through the entire structure today. No fencing or visible construction yet, but spoke to a security guard who was coning off an area to be "pressure washed." There were ~10 traffic cones blocking parking spaces on the first level nearest the LA Fitness entrance. Very high traffic area...

Supercharger - Irvine, CA - Michelson Dr. (Park Place, LIVE 19 Oct 2019, 12 urban stalls)

That Red Circle Area has been approved by city of Irvine to do a massive office building. Possible the SC could go in the parking structure next to the red circle (where the ChargePoint charging station is on the map) but then again the address there is 3181. Park Place is owned by a company...
  25. R

Supercharger - Irvine, CA - Michelson Dr. (Park Place, LIVE 19 Oct 2019, 12 urban stalls)

The area immediately around these chargers has seen an explosion in new higher-end apartments recently. Going to be a lot of locals charging nights and weekends, but on the flip side I bet it will help Tesla sell dozens of cars.
  26. R

Supercharger - Rancho Mirage CA (LIVE 18 Sep 2019, with SOLAR)

Nice location. Would be great to get this one finished by next Coachella!

Electrify America charging station, 440 N. Euclid St, Anaheim

That's a Walmart! Good to see Target and Walmart getting more SCs. Convenient and they have so many locations for expanding the network.

Need to see/ride in M3 in southern cal/OC area. Anyone!? :)

They really should have one somewhere in SoCal Res Holders can sit in, but when I emailed my local Tesla showroom they were dismissive about it. Also in SoCal, no invite yet but the $2500 non-refundable is a little scary. I went the LA Auto show to at least see the thing (couldn't get inside)...

    Southern California to Las Vegas

The new and expanded superchargers will help a lot. I do wonder if all cars were Teslas or similar EVs, how many supercharging stalls in a town like Baker would we need? Even at this early stage of EV adoption there are 5 gas stations there and soon to be 1 gas-station-sized Supercharger. Are...
  30. R

Supercharger - Burbank, CA - North Third Street (LIVE 14 Sep 2017, 20 V2 stalls)

Here's an article on the project from last year. I don't know where the SC site is in relation to the new apartments, but it seems to fit in with the new strategy to "allow local Tesla drivers to charge quickly when needed, with the goal of making charging ubiquitous in urban centers."
  31. R

    Green Light on Rearview Mirror

Many EV's have a charging status indicator visible through the front windshield. Maybe putting one on the mirror was easier for wiring? Otherwise it clearly has to be a first of it's kind Autonomous Vehicle to Meatbag communication device. Instead of the you go/I go wave at 4 way intersections...

    Supercharger - Yermo, CA (LIVE 21 Nov 2017, 18 V2 Stalls)

So badass! Where my So Cal Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders fans at? Are Supercharger Tailgate parties a thing?

Superchargers in Southern California (location speculation)

True, even if someone surveyed it doesn't mean it will happen. The Culver Grey Dot is off the official supercharger map. Redondo is apparently next.
  34. R

Superchargers in Southern California (location speculation)

Culver City expansion is finished (already!) according to this post. Not sure when they started but it seems they added those 4 stations very quickly. I stumbled upon this in the Fountain Valley thread, which states that Supercharger has already been surveyed for an expansion. Also rumor is...

    Model 3 Projected 0-60 Times

IF they don't offer a bigger battery, this tweet from Elon either confirms a 238+ mile range for the base OR he is bragging about a car that won't be available at launch, which is odd because this was in the context of the AWD delay and he was trying to reassure people.
  36. R

    Model 3 Projected 0-60 Times

Sigh. I hadn't even considered that they may not :/ Can we assume there will be and speculate on that? Edit: How disappointing if that's true. Went from AWD, to RWD 75, to gotta pay back the Feds because the car isn't coming this year. Could just be the salt talking, but if the small battery...
  37. R

    Model 3 Projected 0-60 Times

According to this chart, some of the RWD Model S's with bigger batteries that existed at the same time had faster 0-60 times than the smaller battery variants, but some did not. A bigger battery would mean more "juice" to send to the motor, right? Would it just be dependent on if the motor spec...

    Model 3 Projected 0-60 Times

Good point, you want your flagship to be your flagship! But maybe they'll just price it to get the same margin as the S P100DL Off topic, but I believe on the Model S RWD the cars with upgraded batteries were faster 0-60. Do you think a RWD Model 3 with a 70/75kwh battery will be faster than a...

Superchargers in Southern California (location speculation)

Well we know they are working on Culver City now. If we make an assumption that at least part of that crew is from Tesla Corporate and goes from site to site (not just local contractors doing a 1 off project), you would think we should see another Supercharger go under construction when Culver...

Superchargers in Southern California (location speculation)

Hi Vern, those grey dots are not proposed locations, specifically. They do not necessarily indicate the intersection or even general part of the city where the supercharger might be. It looks to me like they appear either above the name of the town on Google Maps or "centered" in the city...

Superchargers in Southern California (location speculation)

Looks like a team is currently expanding Culver City.
  43. R

Superchargers in Southern California (location speculation)

Interesting. I'd imagine the location picking team has the location data and charging habits from every Tesla owner ever at their disposal, lol. I'm on the lookout for a city permit in Irvine. My prediction/hope is that the location will be somewhere in the "Irvine Business Complex" area...

Superchargers in Southern California (location speculation)

Reckless speculation on my part. The rendering with 50+ spaces and the lounge is throwing me off. What they showed was a gas station sized footprint, which I doubt partners would be willing to lease, however looking at the numbers... If there is to be 1000 new CA chargers and there are about 80...
  45. R

Superchargers in Southern California (location speculation)

I agree that they won't be able to launch all these sites this quickly, but I do think they have a new strategy. In the past they've partnered with malls and shopping centers to lease (I assume) 4-12 spaces for chargers, however if they are truly moving to the 24-60+ parking space amounts I find...

    Supercharger - Twentynine Palms, CA

Wow, what a surprise! This SC is also good for coming back from Vegas "the back way" to the Coachella Valley. It's about 180 miles from the Strip.

Will initial model 3's only be pricey signature / 4wd versions?

Logistically speaking, it will be interesting to see if Tesla blasts out a link to the configurator to all 133k first day preorders, 325k current preorders, or whatever the number becomes by launch to ask them if they want the P90DL and, if the answer is no, say "oh just kidding will get back to...

If You're Reserving -what car are you coming from?

2013 Chevy Volt, I'm thinkin it will have about 150,000 on it by Tesla Time.
