Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Unfortunately the number 88 has a much different meaning in some circles. I’m surprised the fudsters haven’t picked up on that.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I’m beginning to wonder if we are seeing a weakness in Tesla’s sales model. Their only response to slower sales appears to be cut prices. Some times adding a”special package” of accessories works, or more variety ie colors, etc. Also, expecting people to spend a large amount of money just over...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Going along with what @unk45 said, right now Tesla appears to be an example of the danger of deflation. The steady decrease in selling price may be reducing sales as buyers wait for further reductions in selling price. Adding value to the cars might work better. As Dr Phil says: “how’s that...

The problem is that Vegas does not allow self driving in the system yet. I have no idea when or even if they will allow it.

Changing the subject, the UAW just won at VW Chattanooga. Several more elections are in process. The tide may have turned in the south, and Tesla is their big target. It will be interesting to see how this progresses. For those who don’t know, VW has wanted the union, and the workers fought it.

8 every 10 minutes so 60 minutes in an hour. 6x8 = 48 per hour. You would have to ask him how he arrived at 8 per 10. I’m just the doofus. Of course I could have heard wrong too. Go look on UTUBE it’s still up. Also, they seem to me to come out in bursts.

FYI. Joe T said during his video today that Cybertruck is at 8 every 10 minutes. That’s about 50 per hour.

In Florida the law says if a company is willing to assume all responsibility for the actions of the car, it’s legal to drive. Nothing about how it does it.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I agree. The specs on the cameras show the car is very nearsighted. In the country I’m often looking a half mile or more ahead. I drive a lot on two lane rural roads with passing necessary. The car has to move to where the center of the windshield is clear of the truck it’s passing and then...

Okay….. somebody smarter than me please explain to me how a person with about 22% of the stock can outvote the other 78% of the stock, if push comes to shove?? Some people must agree with him, I guess. However, I’ve been around such fights and they are ugly. Sometimes they result in the...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Last night I cruised the Tesla site. I couldn’t believe the number of cars available, all models, in our state. It’s hundreds. Tesla has really stuffed the pipeline. There are reports that Texas has cut back all 12 hour shifts an hour, and now we know why several hundred trucks are piled up at...

Well, that would explain the hundreds of trucks stacked up all around Giga Texas. I’ve been wondering about that.

12.3.4 showed up on my unicorn S last night that has not worked on any version. When a friend of my daughter , who has 12.3.3 and likes it , can come over I’ll have him drive it. I want it to be fair to tesla as at this time I’m like a gun shy bird dog at the sight of a 12 gauge. Fingers crossed.

I think you cost estimates for accidents are way low. A minor curbing on my S cost me and the insurance company over $3,500. Here in Florida the lawyers are having a field day with injuries often costing close to a million dollars. Then we have hurricanes running rates even higher. The trail...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Hmmmm…….. if Tesla does an interest buy down in this country, I see a way to a new S. Buy one with 100% financing, keeping my current one and swapping the fugly trim and wheels to the old one and the bright to the new one. Then sell the old one to someone who wants a used car that looks exactly...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I’m in the same boat. If Tesla wants to figure out what’s going on with sales, they need look no farther than their “ not a sales” department and the “promises” they make.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I said something similar a few pages back. My thought is to do for low volume vehicles what they are doing for the truck- build a plant that specializes in vehicles like the S,X and Roadster. Highly flexible, low volume, high quality and high profit. Perhaps they already have something like...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I agree. I’ve pointed out a couple of things that have kept me on the sidelines and even considering Rivian. The demand levers Tesla pulled last quarter obviously didn’t work. Perhaps they should try new ones, including buying down interest as they once did. I bought both of mine partially...

If there’s heavy dew on mine, some of the cameras will be blocked. Also, at night, if a car pulls next to me at a stoplight or passes, it causes some of the cameras to go blind.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I suppose I should wait for the official figures tomorrow, but what is the fun in that. Troy’s figures for S, X and Cybertruck look bad. Not deducting anything for Cybertruck, this would be bad for the S and X. I think it’s time for Tesla to fish or cut bait. Either redo them with the latest...

Contributors to this site often talk of the exponential curve when talking of ramping production/sales. Some times we tend to forget that the high end is a mirror image of the start. Some of Tesla’s products are at that end of the curve, The S, X, and possibly the Y. This makes the small car and...

I seem to remember the University of London. Doing some work with those newfangled transistor things back in the early 60s. They were wiring them together in ways that mimicked the human brain and were surprised in how much a limited number could do and at a relatively low power for the time...

Depends on where you are. When I lived on the Big Island, the Honda dealer charged $3,500 to $7,000 over list for their cars and people bought them. They just added another window sticker that said additional dealer profit. They sold the stew out of them.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It’s interesting to see Teslas response to the current sales situation. Apparently lowering prices and adding on freebies-supercharging, etc aren’t enough to move cars at the moment. I suspect ads plus raising prices is a test of a new strategy. I would expect increasing variation among the...

Interesting, perhaps it follows the rules because to be level 4-5 in Florida Tesla must certify that the car will obey ALL LAWS, INCLUDING TRAFFIC LAWS. No speeding, no rolling stops no nothing.

The last week-ish has been pretty good for Mr Musk. First Starship had a 90% success and test 4 is on the horizon. Second the rollout of V 13 has been getting rave reviews . Third Tesla is beginning to hire for Optimus production. Fourth, the interview with a quadriplegic who has had a Nuralink...

What I’m reading here is encouraging to me. Maybe it will work on my unicorn S which has never worked on any FSD version I’ve tried. Currently when I turn it on, it immediately moves to the left most lane and refuses to leave it. At least that’s better than when it wanted to take right turns at...

Hmmm…..a lot of people were sure Tesla would sell 2.5 million cars this year. Then it was 2.1-2.2 million. Now uncertainty if they can sell 2 million. Quite a change in attitude on the forum lately.
  37. Snerruc

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Probably my bad. I understood you to write that car to car variation of cars of the same type such as S’s in the behavior of FSD wasn’t a problem. Sorry.
  38. Snerruc

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Sorry to disagree with unk, but I have had versions that were totally unusable. Tesla tried to fix and failed. On the micro level, cars are different, and that appears to be important. Check the FSD threads. My best guess is that mine may be windshield related, but just a doofus guess.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I’m not sure there is a drop in demand. It’s just that the initial market has been filled. It’s conquest sales now- a different market from the early adopter market. The demand for cars is there, however Tesla has to compete for customers with different priorities. Tesla has some weakness in...

I think you should add concern about the battery life to your list. That would give me pause, and I am reasonably knowledgeable after owning two. That’s a $20,000 spark plug.
  42. Snerruc

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

A couple of thousand pages back I discussed the profitability of FSD. Nothing has changed my opinion expressed then. Historically new safety devices like anti lock brakes or back up cameras start out costing a fortune on expensive, early adopter cars. As they are proven, their prices rapidly...

Cybertruck Steer By Wire Safety Concerns and Details

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Getting back on topic, the market seems to find $180-$200 a reasonable range for TSLA. I’m inclined to agree for what a dufus’s opinion is worth. Considering the numbers for car companies, I think the market is already factoring in much of the potential for TSLA. Feel free to disagree.

    ALL CyberTruck discussion

Deloreans did and do have some cosmetic problems . Personally I have never seen or observed in pictures any rust, but they do develop a “patina” or crud on the surface and scuff. You should be able to find UTUBE videos on cleaning them up when it’s bad. They would probably apply to a Cybertruck...
