I took 3 retailer test drives... about 2.5 hours total time....also drove an owner's MS 60 for an hour at an EV event,,, and had a MSP85 loaner for 30 hours... none of that was long enough to fully gain operational knowledge of the AP system... the 30 day free trail came too late for me.... had...

I driven with the AP engaged for about 800 miles all in all of the 8400 on my MS ... about half highway and half local.... it drifts.. enough it almost makes me a bit sea sick....fails to set a middle of the lane on lots of decel and accel lanes (still) ... and lane pushes.....the ACC panic...

good and valid point...the dark pillars are a lot less noticeable .. and they are in the line of sight while driving... small stuff can either make ya or break ya....

I'm no rocket scientist... but I have observed my hand held Garmin GPS temporarily lose satellites in the back-woods while on a hike... my mapping is DL-d into the GPS.. and remains.... but my position fails to appear... and my data is dropped for that period of time... the GPS just reconnects...

i wonder if your car is losing satellite connectivity in that area.... off and on... and the AP isn't going into a 'fail-safe" mode.... I note in some areas my nav screen breaks up or goes to checkerboard then repopulates.... I think the car is possibly losing cell connection... but it may be...
