    Cental Colorado FSD 12X challenge

Drove it again yesterday and the car still phantom brakes. Strangely it's close in each direction, but not at the exact spot. The north bound lane is almost understandable. That could be an ugly hole, but it brakes so late as to be useless. Southbound is more confusing as there's really...

    Colorado Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

Interesting that new chargers are being built in Arvada and Wheat Ridge, both just a few miles down the road from the Mills. This seems to be a case of multiple smaller chargers being easier to site and power than one massive charger. They are also on different substations so there is better...

    Cental Colorado FSD 12X challenge

It's all in Park county, no messages on the screen, no changes in the visualization, and it routes past it just fine. The change in color is actually from where the chip seal didn't stick, so the car might be interpreting it as the mother of all potholes.

    Cental Colorado FSD 12X challenge

My 2018 Model 3 always phantom brakes on highway 9 right around mile marker 39 (a few miles south of Hartsel). There is a change in pavement color in the north bound lane and a slightly blind double rise going south. I'm not sure what exactly causes the phantom braking, but it's very consistent...

    New 2024 Model Y Break-in period?

There are bearings and gears and other moving things so it wouldn't hurt to vary your speed a bit over the first few hours of operation, but it doesn't need the careful and extended break-in period like an ICE. You will be tempted to put your foot into it, and it won't hurt anything, so go for it.

    Counting Teslas while you drive?

Three years ago mine red Model 3 was the only one many people had ever seen in Canon City. A week ago I was parked next to a red Model 3 nearly as filthy as mine. The times, they are a changing.

Supercharger - Durango, CO (pending final City approval)

Excellent news! $12,000/year at $0.39/kWh is 30,769kWh per year or 84kWh per day. Roughly equivalent two cars charging from 20-80% every day. I have no idea what Tesla will be paying for electricity, but it looks like it should be pretty easy to make rent :)

    Counting Teslas while you drive?

I have the only Tesla in my rural Colorado mountain zip code, so everyone in the area knows the red Model 3 is mine. It's kind of fun watching the Tesla (and EV) density increase whenever I travel down the mountain to Canon City, the Springs or especially Denver.

I’m scared to drive my new Tesla in the winter

Forget my suggestion of low regen, your Y is too new. Tesla removed that feature on newer cars (insert rant about California/Texas based companies being clueless about bad weather). Just get winter tires and it will be great in the snow. I have the Michelin X-Ice tires on my Model 3 and they...

I’m scared to drive my new Tesla in the winter

Like many others have suggested, get winter tires or at least aggressive all season tires. I'm in Colorado too so am familiar with out schizophrenic weather. I change to Michelin X-Ice3 tires sometime in October and put the all-seasons back on in April or May and don't worry about warm days in...

How does your miles/kWh change as your speed changes?

You're probably in the ballpark, but are asking for incredibly precise numbers in unique situations. Your dirt roads are different than my dirt roads (which in the current badly washboard state are hard to drive at even 25mph). Your altitude is different than mine, at 9000' EVs are more...

    Supercharger - Alamosa, CO

This will make the Santa Fe to Poncha Springs stretch much less nail biting when there is a strong head wind blowing down the San Luis valley (e.i. always).

It looks like Tesla needs to add a new graphic to the drive screen…

The car probably thought it was just a traffic cone.

Tesla Update 2022.36.1 Finally Lets You Track Your Energy Consumption

The new energy app is nice (although I really wish Tesla would start using greater contrast in the text, this grey on grey is tough to read). One issue I've noticed is a discrepancy in elevation. I recently plotted a route from Denver up to a small town at 9300' in the mountains 125 miles away...

Everything wrong with V11 update / user interface.

The radio issue is fixed in 16.3. So there is actually someone at Tesla testing for and fixing regressions. 😂

Everything wrong with V11 update / user interface.

Nope, no spotify. I was a test engineer for more years than Tesla has been a company and I'm astonished at some of the egregious errors they let loose on the public.

Everything wrong with V11 update / user interface.

FM radio station changes from the left scroll wheel is completely broken now. In previous versions when set to FM the left scroll wheel would toggle between stations, now the left/right toggle switches between sources, not stations. Apparently nobody in Tesla dev or test actually listens to the...

    Supercharger - Glendale, AZ

If you look closely the cables alternate left/right/left/right so this must be setup for parking on both sides.

Everything wrong with V11 update / user interface.

DeltaOne and Jlcboston, I wondered what that barely visible icon did. I'm going to be using that the next time I drive! Thank you! One more think I miss is the charging icon on the map. Yes, you can get to it by going to Navigate, but it was better as a map option.

Everything wrong with V11 update / user interface.

There are now only two views for audio, full and minimal (and off for three?) What happened to the half screen view of music? I used that frequently. The trip cards were useful as was the tire pressure card. Recently I picked up a nail and needed the map to navigate to a tire store in an...

    Supercharger - Gallup, NM

I charged in Gallup just before the pandemic and the sign out front said "Welcome Tesla Drivers" and they were very friendly at the front desk. Has there been a change in management or just a cranky person at the desk?

    Supercharger - Trinidad, CO

@runelind I've never seen more than 4 cars in Trinidad. The mexican restaurant next door is pretty good. Santa Fe is only a few minutes off the Interstate and while the outlet mall is mostly empty, the bathrooms are open and clean.

    model 3 salvage car parts.

So are any of the rims usable and just scuffed up, or are they functionally damaged?

    model 3 salvage car parts.

Not perfect, or not usable? I bent a rim (thanks NM highway department!) and am good with touchup paint.

Do you have any good rims still available? Looks like 2 might be sold already, crossing fingers there's still one left.

Bent one and need a replacement. But only need one. Doesn't have to look perfect, just be straight and true.

    Supercharger - Willow Beach, AZ

That is an interesting charger setup that allows access from either side. Should help prevent ICEing.

Supercharger - Lakewood, CO (Colorado Mills)

That Marriott Springhills hotel has two destination chargers. Strangely, they aren't listed in Tesla's destination catalog. But both the supercharger and the Marriott destination chargers are listed on Plugshare.

Supercharger - Lakewood, CO (Colorado Mills)

So much for my daily scouting trips around Applewood to get the scoop (part of my commute anyway). This is a better location anyway. More restaurants, a mall and hotels nearby. While the on/off from I-70 at Denver West might be longer, it's a diamond interchange and much simpler than the...

    Supercharger - Wheat Ridge, CO

All the spools of wire are gone and no SuperChargers showed up to replace them. :( There was recent construction activity on Youngfield where it looked like new red pipes were laid down the middle of the street. Today I noticed red pipes sticking out of the ground at the corner of 38th and...

    Supercharger - Wheat Ridge, CO

The parking lot has been striped and it's all straight in, not diagonal parking so the straight in spots on the north side were sort of a red herring. No superchargers have been installed yet either, but there are several transformer boxes and large cable spools still sitting there so there's a...

    Supercharger - Wheat Ridge, CO

Well done rdlink. I posted the link to the map, but totally missed the change in parking direction. That could be it. I drive by there everyday and have been keeping an eye on the construction. They haven't been doing anything with the parking lot yet, but hopefully soon.

    Supercharger - Wheat Ridge, CO

The Applewood Village development map shows a Hobby Lobby, Home Goods, Sierra Trading Post and Ulta cosmetics going into the old Walmart space, but no Trader Joe's. The supercharger isn't shown. Applewood Village, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 – Retail Space | Regency Centers

    Denver Supercharger ?

Apparently it's going to be in Wheat Ridge, right off I-70. Denver West Supercharger - Wheat Ridge That's actually a pretty good location. Easy access on and off the Interstate, a 24 hour supermarket (King Soopers) a big liquor store (don't drink and drive after shopping at Applejack please!)...

    Supercharger - Wheat Ridge, CO

That's just a few blocks from my house. Several buildings have been recently torn down and the Walmart moved out a year ago which means there is plenty of room and easy access. It will be interesting to see where they put it. Does it make me a fanboi that I'm a little excited a SuperCharger is...

    Fit bike in trunk

My 57cm road bike will fit in the trunk with the back seats up if both wheels are off, but the handlebars have to drop into the trunk well. It goes in crank facing up, rear derailleur fits into into the back right corner then the bars drop into the well. Cover the frame with a blanket and set...
