Late 2016 / Early 2017 S Owners: How Are Your Daytime Running Lights Holding Up?

The headlights are fairly simple to replace. I was able to swap the most recent driver side out-of-warranty failure for around 200$ in a single evening. If you do have Tesla do the work you’ll get a one year parts warranty though, which may be valuable depending on how many more will go out in...

Late 2016 / Early 2017 S Owners: How Are Your Daytime Running Lights Holding Up?

Give it a few weeks, It’ll burn out completely by then. The passenger side on mine always seems to go yellow, and the driver side goes out completely along the top. I’m on my fifth passenger side replacement, and fourth drivers side replacement. Note: The passenger side DRL was last replaced...

    A/C Compressor Noise

Since the battery can’t be charged (or run at high discharge) without the AC system, does that make the AC part of the drivetrain covered under the drivetrain warranty?

I wonder why Tesla doesn’t offer a stowable, recharged by the car, e-bike option yet.

There’s a light and crosswalk at the Buc-ees if your aim is to reach the food and shopping area across the street. If you don’t want to cross the street, then there’s a new Starbucks that opened next to Buc-ees.

    Refresh door handles...

Keep in mind that the door handles still work, they just don’t pop out. If you want a quick temporary (or permanent depending on how you feel about it) fix you can cut the hem off an old washcloth and use it as an opening ring. If you were feeling savvy, you might even 3D print some replacement...

Late 2016 / Early 2017 S Owners: How Are Your Daytime Running Lights Holding Up?

2016 Model S (refreshed type). Drivers side upper accent light died within a week of buying the car, passengers side died a few months ago, drivers side has died again just this week.

    Headlight signature lights failed

It’s not just the Model 3. Driver side Model S (2016 refreshed) failed, then passenger side, then driver side again. I’m just going to wait for the other side to burn out again then they will be even.

    Sudden Unintended Acceleration

I had a little bit of SUA twice, but I wasn't even in the car! I was summoning the car (S90D AP1) into the garage and the car came to a complete stop with the little "ding I'm done." The car initiated the garage door homelink command and the garage door came to a complete close. I noticed to...

Avoid Tolls feature in Tesla-Google Maps App -- Model S

USA Teslas have this feature also; I just found it yesterday on my 90D. Settings > apps > nav > [avoid tolls check box]

Same here, same service (except on an S90D). All concerns were addressed, but definitely not using this procedure.

    Supercharger - Austin, TX

Cut down and take i10 the whole way. It'll be faster than taking 290 and then having to cut down through San Antonio anyway. There is no safe way around San Marcos though if you aren't using a 90D or better, and you'll need to detour there to make Junction. So your route with a 75D will be...

    Supercharger - Birmingham, AL

FYI, calling the 205 number on the box will result in the security guard coming over and using his key to lift the gate for you for free if you drive a Tesla vehicle.

    Supercharger - Birmingham, AL

UPDATE: We made it home to Austin, TX :) Back story: Birmingham supercharger went down on last day of trip, and the car had a lowish state of charge. Front story: Tesla was able to Uber me back to my cousin's house while we left the vehicle hooked up to see if the Tesla SC would go ahead and...

    Insurance VIN/Model Discrepancy

Same issue here. Checking on upgrading to the car with the new sensors if it makes financial sense, and all the places I went for appraisals seemed to think I was pulling a fast one on them since their VIN decoders showed the car as a 70D. I do notice in the center screen Tesla page that there...

    Supercharger - Birmingham, AL

I would be inclined to think this as well, but Teslas diagnostics say everything is just fine on both ends. I tried every plug at the supercharger with the same results. The SC tries to train the car up to SC amperages and just drops back it 0kw after a few seconds at SC speed, never to reach...

    Supercharger - Birmingham, AL

Well, according to them everything is A-ok and they blame the utility. They ubered me to my cousin's to wait and see if the supercharger will start working again, but it hasn't and is still broken 6 hours later. With the current spikes the car calculates it is providing less than 3 miles an...

    Supercharger - Birmingham, AL

Entire Birmingham supercharger is out 1-1-2017. Was up on 12-30-2017. The site provides voltage, but keeps failing to train. Hands around 10kw, usually dropping and staying at 0kw. Sometimes it makes it up to 50, but immediately falls back to 0 after a few seconds. Now we're Stranded in Alabama...

    Air Conditioning Blowing Hot Air

Update: After reviewing the logs, Tesla service reports that the car has an issue with the AC expansion valve. I'm taking the car in for service tomorrow and they will determine if the issue is with the valve itself or just with the system's communication with the valve. More to come.

    Air Conditioning Blowing Hot Air

This is still an issue. My brand new, new body style Model S 90D that I've owned for a few weeks is having this problem as we speak. Tesla tech support couldn't see anything wrong from ota data pull, battery is not being cooled since punching the pedal results in an exclamaition mark on the...

    Weird Supercharger Incident (Reduced Charge)

UPDATE: Just got off a call with Tesla. The issue is 100% known and an issue with some supercharging stations which are using newer technology. I'm being told that the issue is being investigated, and I have asked for an email reply when the fix has been identified and executed. Tesla claims...

    Weird Supercharger Incident (Reduced Charge)

Update: The guy with old nose cone style next to me (different bay pair) was at 89 miles range, and was also clamped to 74a after a short period. If this is a car issue, then it is increasingly likely to be a widespread firmware bug

    Weird Supercharger Incident (Reduced Charge)

I've just had the issue occur in the last 1 hour from this posting, and also on the last three weekends. What I'm seeing is identical to all of your observations, except it only seems to happen when the car is drawing more than 250 amps. Range mode is off, battery started at 15%, and the...
