Argh, stories like these give me doubt of buying a model X as well. Unfortunately, you're not the only one with these issues. Two of my colleagues have 13+ visits in a year. Sad.
Hmm, odd. I have Homelink both on my MS and MY cars, and both "auto skip" occasionally. I'm just trying to understand the circumstances which it does it. Tthe fact that you guys "never" seen it makes me think something is off on my end. But, for both my cars to have this issue is certainly weird.
I don't get the EDD algorithm. I ordered 5/15 and my EDD still says September. I do see earlier EDD for later order dates. Is it based on location in CA as well?
I think people consider it (albeit quickly), but are OK with the risks. Their quality control is pretty poor, but it appears to be (mostly) cosmetic for now.
I think it depends on where you live. Here in the Bay Area, you can find even lower rate for 48 month term loan. Usually local federal credit unions have the best rates.
I get you. There is certainly a sweet-spot to buy. If you don't need a car now, then I think it's worth waiting for the next gen MY. The other sentiments that you'll be always be waiting for the next best thing is valid, but really more so for the other models.
So undecided on this one. Need your help.
So, we are thinking about getting trading in both cars to get either M3 and MY or two MYs. There's obviously a price difference, but wondering if there is any good reason to get a M3 over the MY. Better handling maybe?
What are the ridiculous expectations? Tesla attracts people who enjoy the cool and latest tech. Fortunately, the quality control for most tech products out there are pretty tight. Now extend that expectation to now a $40-50k product and comparing it to the QC of other car companies, I think...
There are a few threads about where Fastrak works, but I don't see a definitive answer.
I'm constantly getting charged for using I-580 express lane even though I have Fastrak Flex set properly at "3". It's mad annoying. What's the proper placement where the Fastrak will be read all the time...
I'm not sure if that is 100% accurate. Nobody wants to buy older generation smartphones. I guess you can find someone, but it'll be at severely reduced price. It'll be a similar situation for Tesla's. I'm sort of envious of people with AP2.
Would it better to upgrade my S60 to S75 battery, if I plan on selling and trade-in? I thought less features would minimize the amount lost during the sale/trade-in.
At least for me, I find lane detection far worse than 7.x auto-pilot. 8.1 maybe marginally better than 8.0. The long awaited update has been a disappointment so far. At least they fix the bluetooth connection issue.
I have the exact same problem. Took it to service, and they say it's a firmware issue after 8.0. Although my loaner car never had the issue.... I have my doubts it'll be fixed any time soon.
I agree. The car seems to have problems with staying away from semi's.
Auto pilot feature should be renamed. It's deceiving. It's all about setting expectation.
AP is cool and i use it daily. But it's really not "auto pilot". Far from it.
Useless in the rain. Can't handle curves at moderate speeds, take exits. Constant nagging to keep your hand on the wheel.
I feel your pain. It happened to me as well. I use auto-park after each update, hoping for an improvement. Unfortunately, I get upset and feel dumb to expect something different.
