Tesla Model Y Delivery Timing Raises Concerns: Video

While true to an extent, if implies Tesla is competing dollar for dollar with ICE cars, which they aren't. R&D is substantial but costs of features in volume are very modest. Also, similarly prices ICE cars come with better materials, finish and service infrastruncture. Having said that...

Blog Report: Low Demand From Tesla Sends Panasonic Solar Cells Overseas

Is the underlying truth that there are not enough battery cells to complement the solar cells in maing a nice solar roof? Or are there really not that many projects waiting for a solar roof? Last I heard, the cost and savings were not exactly as Tesla painted them to be. Tesla used imported...

Tesla Model Y Delivery Timing Raises Concerns: Video

If so many of the parts are the same, expediting Y seems possible and needed. The first 100.000 or 200.000 units of the Y will be Long Range, Dual Motor, etc. Right now, a large part of Model 3 is SR+. Because, it will suffice just fine. With 3 lines operational today, why not implement Model Y...

Nice that they found something to source in-house. And sure good to have good power on the ready from a cap.

You must be so proud of yourself. How many downvotes would a sane outspoken person get over at David Koresh's place? I'm telling it like I see it and I call BS on lack of common sense and outright blind worship. I don't consider any car but a Model S but I will not bowto a lesser informed...

You make honest a four-letter word. I'm an avid Tesla supporter, almost enlisted for the cause. Deeply disappointed with the way they say no to good money, ignore what the customer base actually needs in a car, decides to not have any more employees than necessary, robots FTW, goal to unemploy...

Don't worry about day traders who sell short exactly half of the time. Worry about institutional investers who are sick to their stomach over Tesla and even losing their job over recommending/buying it. They were selling. Employees such as Kimbal were selling. It's a ba stock to own right now...

Challenge your energy company. They should serve you also away from home. It's business, right? Silly to try and rely on your car maker for gas. Heck, even Tesla calls itself an energy company.

At such production rates the market for ride sharing could be satisfied rather quickly. Especially if not the whole world is on board allowing a car to make a driver with a job redundant. A simple little law that every vehicle needs a licenced designated driver will ruin RoboTaxi and all...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It's not boxing were you avoid a strong opponent. If Tesla has California, be sure someone will be happy to ride on their success and undercut Tesla (which should be easy) for ride costs. At first Tesla will not have whole lot of vehicles, others may get a nice fleet going very quickly. No need...

If you want the share to go back up, just buy more and make it happen, take the rewards. And if you find it's a great source of anger to know the word "short", take some leveraged longs. If you get it right you win big.

Model S range and interior update imminent?

It has been that way for years in the press. What's going wrong is Tesla. Less of a novel product, less service, still no profit. Why would anyone be a long term investor with a messy company like that, wasting their potential on ego. It's the interior thread though and in that light, I can...

Model S range and interior update imminent?

If you accept that S and X will not be used as RobooTaxi as much, important quesion is what these buyers actually want for a car interior. Whether it drives itself or not. Tesla has offended many customers and took risks on sale. Will shareholders want them to continue on that path?

Model S range and interior update imminent?

S/X with FSD would be a nice feature to have for owners but renting their fancy car out as unmanned taxi...not sure that's cost efficient. Lots of depreciation and you can charge triple what a Model 3 operator charges and expect good demand.

Let's be fair, a significant part of the Q2 sales will be from Q1 demand put on a vessel too late. With more and more price drops demand may be matched to supply more or less. But that's not a way to achieve guided profits. Needed are product adjustments that are recognizing what customers...

Will Energy make a big splash onto 2019 revenue, according to you? They're cell limited. Let's be realistic. I'm sure they could find demand for 5x or 10x the sales they achieve today if they only had product on the shelfs. It's extremely say, your own cell factory that's the biggest in the...

Volume then, not revenue, check. So, less growth still versus guidance through the past years. Thus grounds for lower SP. With 3 in stead of 2 lines they've not gotten close to long terms Model 3 production targets. While it's good to be able to sell an impractical showbo car to early adopters...

Model S range and interior update imminent?

In the past I've considered John to be a bit unfair to Tesla and somewhat uninformed regarding BEVs in general. He's a tad on the conservative side over the whole. In this video though, he's quite sharp on the mark. If you disagree, just keep this video and post it in 5 years so see how wrong he...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

How would you suggest they achieve +50 over 2018? S and X are way down in numbers AND in price. Model 3 takes a much larger piece of the cake in numbers, but now they're building mostly the lower spec'd ones. And prices have been mostly reduced. I feel we can ignore Energy product sales, I see...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It's the other way around. And I've not found an answer from a Tesla fan on any of the many BEV websites I frequent. What changed for Tesla to go from bright outlook, no more debt, no more losses, no more share issues needed, plenty of demand, good margin per car, all guided very recently? What...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

How much do those dampers cost extra? Those interior details, what do those cost now really? Model 3's pricing made Model S overpriced and thus less in demand. For one percenters not necessarily a turn off in terms of price, but inferior tech in a flagship is hard to excuse.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

As TSLA issues more shares and doubles its fleet in little more than a year, I can only imagine the share of individual permalongs, the kinds of people we find on this thread who admit to have ever only owned one company's shares, is diminishing. The purchase power of the loyal permalongs can...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It was said at the time that Model S was for early adopters and there to help fund the Model 3 project. I appreciate all the little ways Model S improved but let's be honest: the 2017 model 3 is technically superior to the 2019 Model S, even the incremental improvement now starting to ship as we...

And that seemed fair probably. Model S set standards Tesla has not been able to meet since. There has been progress, but only relative to Model S, not to how the company operates and achieves their targets. If you don't achieve a target, that has a huge impact on your fair valuation. The growth...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

In 2013 they were a company showing up the industry with a ground breaking car that delivered to promises. Over the next 6 years, where might that take them? The car barely improved considering the steep progress in the BEV space. Management has been consistently missing nearly all guidances...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I do agree with this statement. But execution will be vital. If Tesla go about this in a similar way to the Panasonic coop, GF1 construction, Model 3 automation, EAP/FSD development, communications, price changes, etc, the Maxwell acquisition is basically a pure waste of shares. Might as...

No, I would want a car that does to the BMW 3 wagon what Model 3 does to its sedan. I got very close to buying a Ford Focus Wagon until I realized I actually don't need to own a car. In the mid 90's, Volvo raced their wagon in BTCC because it was quicker than the sedan. Body shops offering...

Tesla says self driving matters. But it only does if they succeed. I don't say BMW will get there first, but ALL brands might still get there before Tesla. Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

With such a Tesla centric view there is no room for any company to succeed at anything Tesla is aspiring. A fallacy. Tesla is more hampered to achieve FSD through financing, shareholders and mismanagement than advantages from an active fleet of paying guinea pigs can every compensate for.

Nice deflection attempt. So if I promise you a better heaven than any other faith, that's a won for me by default? That 3-series may well achieve FSD sooner. Because when someone other than Tesla achieve FSD, it will not be kept a limited edition. In fact, I remember there was a BMW decades ago...

If you were to own 50% VW (or almost any somewhat volatile asset with good fundamentals) and 50% TSLA, pair trading, would have made you up overall due to holding twice the number of shares. Pair trading for the win. Even on the way down is does tremendously well. Now that advertising is a...

I want to see a proper technical bottom. Not a bargain buying permalongs bottom. speculatively I might ebe interested around $150. Yes with AP we have drivers not minding traffic because they feel AP got this. People have a good sense of survival instinct. This is how bad drivers get to die of old age. AP just does what it know. It doesn't sense the atmosphere of traffic. It's doesn't know a semi or fire truck from thin...
