Hopefully at some point the cause comes out. Whether it's a problem on Tesla's end or someone controlling the grid shutting down or limiting power to them.

I was trying to supercharge on New Years Eve a few years back and it was in the -20s. My charge was low enough the battery pack heater wouldn't come on and the supercharger was reading the pack was too cold to send a charge. That left me getting no charge at a functional station. I'm not sure...

I got a $35 ticket in Prospect Heights last year. I could have fixed it and have it waived but didn't. I think he just wanted to check me out as I was about 7 miles above the speed limit and have lightly tinted windows.

That area on weekends is packed full of cars and people for the various sports tournaments. ICE'rs might definitely be a problem when parking is near capacity. Good amenities close by. Foundry, Flips and Hurts are all great options.

With a 75D in winter there was still some range anxiety, especially off the interstates. Holes are getting filled though so each quarter it's getting better.

My guess is Illinois hasn't bothered to notify whoever runs it about the changes and you'll probably have to do it in person. Maybe someone else who has gotten personalized plates sine the change will chime soon and verify.

Seems to depend on the weekend. I've seen the Hy-Vee Madison one full (before the other Madison stations were opened) and Mauston has also been full while I've been there. All these additional ones should alleviate any issues for now.

I just bought a used MS from Tesla last week. They told me I only had 72 hours to accept the order after it was delivered onsite. Not sure if someone with more experience going thru the process can chime in, if it's the same as a new order.

It's certainly a better location for the 88 traffic than 39 but hard to argue since 88 was a bigger gap.

Yep. Rockford/Aurora to Davenport is dicey when the weather gets real bad. Add in driving West is usually into the wind I've been really close a few times. Frustrating seeing filler locations popping up now on I-80 when this one isn't done.

It's possible pickup could be arranged at another Tesla location, not sure.

Unfortunately in the midwest, Tesla is the only option still for L3 charging. Most areas off highways are lucky to have L2.

I'm hoping to talk with the Decorah EV planning commission soon. I happened to run into someone at one of the L2 chargers recently that is part of it and offered some feedback from Tesla owners. I did mention more low level L2 is better than nothing but something at L3 would be a major difference.

Almost guaranteed. Walcott should end up being a better location than Davenport as far as distance from the interstate and have faster chargers.

An RV extension cord works well but I it does require some care. Had an extension plug melt one night on me after a long charging session. When I'm home now and charging overnight/preheating mornings I max my amps at 20-30. I only use max amperage if I'm directly connected to a Tesla Charger...

I have to stop at Rockford fairly often for my trips west from Chicago and back, especially during winter with an older S(Rochelle needs to get done ASAP). It seems the new location hasn't slowed down traffic to Cherryvale yet. Been very busy the last month and lots of 3's and Y's not taking...

I'd be highly surprised if that worked. It was iffy both loose on the dash and between the seats. The I-Pass employee mounted mine himself to the passenger side of the rear view mirror and it's worked 100% of the time.

Did a drive thru on Wednesday night and couldn't see anything at the truck stops or the main drag.

Not only that, the Schaumburg Tesla store had been parking 2 test drive cars in front of stalls basically making it a 6 stall location. Not sure if they are done with that or not, havent seen them the last two stops. Looking forward to using this site more.

Not looking for good for something between Davenport and Rockford/Aurora before winter. S75D has had some close calls on that trip with bad winds/temp.

I've been keeping on eye on their city council minutes but nothing listed there so far. Been waiting on this one as my older Model S has trouble with really cold winter trips going from Chicago NW suburbs to the Quad Cities unless I sit at Rockford or Aurora for over an hour.

Jealous. I drive a mid '16 S(75D) and cap out at 110kW. They had reduced me to 92kW cap for awhile but recently I've seen it go back up.

I've seen 39xxx and a lot of temp plates lately so it has to be close.

Dang, I stopped having to go to Benton Harbor for work as of this year. Would have been nice not to use the St Joes one; lots of issues there.
