Looking forward to this upgrade

P90 was out for a long time. P100 just came out, big upgrade. Why not announce both together? Imagine releasing model 3 with ap1, then upgrading 2 -3 weeks later with ap2. That would piss off many early owners

At least with battery packs there is a path to upgrade. P100 is a major upgrade with power and cooling system of batteries. They could have delayed p100d builds by 2 weeks and not had this issue with the new model.

I feel same way, why would tesla release the p100 battery pack a few weeks before AP 2 with all the new hardware that isn't retrofittable. There will be a whole group of new p100d owners that have buyers remorse like me. That is a release that should have been synchronized.

I bet it is solar panel power wall combo to store the solar energy.

Just got a call, rear motor failure. Getting replaced, hopefully new motor, not reconditioned. Maybe the p100d battery pack is too powerful for performance motor, esp with 2 failures already. Was there this many early failures with the p90d?

I spoke to service today, and the report is one of the communication points between the main battery pack and 12V was malfunctioning, leading to system shutdown. Hopefully my rear motor is OK, as they think that is the problem. This news has me worried though, as that was the original error on...

Sounds like communication issues between 12V and main battery pack, but service center still awaiting central input to determine cause. Hopefully next week I'll know, if it's more serious I'll request buyback

Why does the car even need a 12v battery when there is all that power reserve in the main battery pack. Can't that power the system too?

The first error I received was the rear motor failure. Could feel the front pull of the motor, car definitely didn't have normal power, no thrust from rear. Fortunately I was a few miles from my house, and was able to drive it home. Now the car won't start, wrecker is on the way.

Front motor worked fine, got me home with the rear motor failure alert on dash, good thing having 2 separate motors.

What size are your rears, 275/40 or 285/35? Is your speedo correct? 275/40 gives a taller rear, 285/35 is very close to the diameter of the 245/40 fronts.

I guess if I go 20's, thinking HRE p204 as they look very tall, lightweight, and have a turbine look. 285/35 rears and 245 40 front would be closest diameter match, not as tall as 275/40 rears. Only All season tire in that size is the BF goodrich, the conti dws 06 rears only come in 275/40.
