Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

I'm still kind of shocked and disappointed that the roof liner isn't black alcantara
  2. D

    Cybertruck is a scam.

Definitely a safety issue but if the accelerator gets stuck, and you even slightly press the brakes, the car will cut accelerator input and brake with a warning on screen that you pressed both pedals.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Yeah, I fully knew the highland would be available soon but couldn't pass up the crazy price we were able to get the RWD with discounts in December. Got it for $26.5k before taxes/fees when taking into account the tax rebate. It was for the wife so she was ok with the 'missing' features the...

how come my gen 1 model 3 horn does not work when it is raining?

In all seriousness though, you may have an exposed wire connection where the horn plugs into.

how come my gen 1 model 3 horn does not work when it is raining?

Tesla disables the horn if visibility is low

Do you hand wash or car wash your Tesla?

Haha, not quite, but probably also less expensive than dry cleaning your car. :P I use this one but many other manufacturers make them. I feel the key is that the car should be fairly clean if using this. That's why I usually pass it through a brushless car wash before actually cleaning it...

Do you hand wash or car wash your Tesla?

I do no-brush soap/foam car wash. Then take it home and use the waterless car wash system in the garage. Here in San Diego, we cannot wash cars in driveway so this is my only option besides taking to car washes - which I watched in past and see them use the same clothes on wheels and painted...

    Free FSD for 1 Month

Same here. I've been using variations of the FSD from time to time over the years with various Tesla's I have owned, and I have yet to see this get to a point where I would pay and actually use it. It's more frustrating than anything. Like @ChuckM3P said, like training a new teen driver or...

About to pull trigger on 2022 Std Rng Model 3 $23k out the door 13k miles red

I think the best deals would have been if you bought it back in December. For example, new Model 3's with the discounts and tax rebate were $26.5k. But you can't always time your purchases and for right now, that's not a bad deal. Being that it was a rental, I'd look carefully underneath the...

Where to purchase OEM M3 front plate holder?

I actually purchased my 4th Model 3, and again have this since I don't use them. If you pay shipping, I can send it.

De-badged rear Model 3 Long Range...

Nice, I did as well, and did so on my last 3 cars (Rivian and 2 Tesla's). Just a cleaner look IMO and also easier to clean.

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

I'm bummed on the performance, Model 3's are still stuck with the ugly light gray roof/pillar liners
  13. D

    Cybertruck is a scam.

As a Rivian owner, there are some that have issues but the vast majority are not having any major issues. I've never had anything major, nor the friends of mine who own them. I think the biggest reason we're seeing owners sell them quite quickly is because so many initial buyers got it at the...

You all have about talked me out of a Tesla altogether...

Rivian does this too. I guess I wasn't shocked because of coming from Tesla. When they do have a loaner though, I do get a Rivian. If the wait will be longer than a day though, they give me a loaner through enterprise - which is not bad. They also cover one tank refill.

Rivian owner CyberTruck Review: Interview with Jon Rettinger

oh wow, I can't believe this, the first car manufacturer to ever be accused of such things...they're definitely doomed. oh nvm, I forgot Tesla also has all these same type of claims against them

Rivian owner CyberTruck Review: Interview with Jon Rettinger

Yeah, it's a tough road ahead for them. I think they'll continue to be around for a while, but the worst case is they end up getting bought out, which will be sad, but at least it will help them stay alive

    First Time EV Buyer (Help...)

what are these 'unknowns' that you're worried about? The biggest issue for ones coming from ICE to an EV for the first time is range anxiety. A lot of that is just learning what your realistic range really is, where/how you will charge (like mentioned above if you're able to charge at home or...

Rivian owner CyberTruck Review: Interview with Jon Rettinger

As a Rivian owner, I agree on a lot of those. If there was a way to combine the pros from both, I would have my perfect truck. lol

Why choose Model 3 over Model Y if you can have more trunk space?

Yeah, splicing into the rear tail light assembly is so dangerous, it can completely destroy the batteries. They seem to be having such clauses so they can get out of any warranty work. lol
  20. D

De-badged rear Model 3 Long Range...

lol, I was thinking the same. Our Tesla has no badging at all. Removed all of it. I hate trying to clean between them and don't care to advertise that I drive a Tesla...not like everyone doesn't already know with them being as common as Civics/Corolla
  21. D

Why choose Model 3 over Model Y if you can have more trunk space?

Because I was able to buy our new Model 3 RWD for $26k after the discounts/rebates in December. :P

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

Yes, mirror adjustment is nothing new. I've had my mirrors set this way for the past 20 years. But I won't start an argument about this
  23. D

Model 3 Highland Performance/Plaid Speculation [Car announced 04.23.2024]

For blind spot checking, I've switched to using the screen but more specifically the rear view camera. It has better visibility of the blind spot than a quick head check in my opinion. So both in my Tesla's and my Rivian, I keep the rear view camera on at all times and can clearly see my blind...

How are the wheel bearings on long range or performance holding up for you with lot of miles?

Oh there are always these threads on people asking about wheel spacers and then inevitably a long argument ensues about why it's a bad idea and how your wheel bearings will wear out sooner, its dangerous, etc.
  25. D

How are the wheel bearings on long range or performance holding up for you with lot of miles?

uh oh, will people with wheel spacers come in and say it failed so much earlier? :P

Cat cracked my windshield and roof glass

yeah, I saw the video and there is no way the cat doing what it did in those videos, cracked your glass. Even if it's wolverine and this cat had it's nails replaced with Adamantium. If the glass could crack from nails of a cat weighing ~10lbs, we'd be replacing our windshields every few weeks.
  27. D

Cat cracked my windshield and roof glass

I don't think a cat is doing this. There's no way they have the weight or strength to do that to glass. I have parked my Model 3's in our garage for the past 5 years and our cats are always jumping on to and off the car. Even jumping onto the roof glass from cabinets above, and I've never had...

The last few times I went to test drive, they don't seem to care about sending anyone with you anymore. They just handed me the key card and said, have fun. lol

    Cybertruck is a scam.

Yeah, on the Rivian, in rain, typically I don't get any water intrusion in the bed, but I get some drops in there after a brushless car wash. But that never bothered me since I only store surfing gear that can get wet, or is already wet. And for things that I need to be dry, I have the massive...

Driver seat can move so far forward where it can crush the headrest and shatter vanity mirror

Haha yes, they were quite shocked. I knew it too, because as we pulled into the lot, I saw my car, and could see the seat all the way forward again. Yes, I'm pretty sure, they uncovered some bug and will probably be eager to get this fixed before they have to replace a lot of other visors and...

Driver seat can move so far forward where it can crush the headrest and shatter vanity mirror

I went to pick it up after they replaced it, only to find out it did it again. Smashed the brand new headrest and broke the vanity mirror as well. Looks like the driver profile got messed up and saved a position at full height and full forward position. So when it loaded the profile, it...

Driver seat can move so far forward where it can crush the headrest and shatter vanity mirror

I was a bit surprised this is possible. A bit hilarious as well. We were picking up our Model 3 for some issues after delivery and I tried to move the driver seat back since it was moved all the way forward, but it wouldn't move. Then I noticed the headrest was jammed into the visor. I had...

2024 Hyundai IONIQ 6 Rebate Undercuts Model 3 Highland By $9,000

How much did you get it for? I bought mine last month for $35,090, but got an extra CT discount of $1k, and then will be filing for the $7500 federal rebate. So that was quite an amazing deal at ~$26k plus taxes/fees/registration/etc
  36. D

2024 Hyundai IONIQ 6 Rebate Undercuts Model 3 Highland By $9,000

Yeah, I was just trying to make a point that if you're deciding to buy a car right now, and was wondering which one you should buy, you really should have bought it last month when not only was it $35k, it qualified for the $7500 tax credit, and also if you had a CT order, got an additional $1k off.

2024 Hyundai IONIQ 6 Rebate Undercuts Model 3 Highland By $9,000

The December pricing of RWD Model 3 with discounts and tax credit was still a better though...if I'm not mistaken, no Hyundai EV qualifies for the fed tax credit right?

Discussion: Model 3 Price reductions - Jan / April / Oct 2023 and all other pricing discussions

My thoughts were the same as @buckeye3, even if the highland qualifies for a partial rebate, I figured the Dec '23 price of RWD with discounts may be the cheapest we will see for quite some time. With the CT discount, I got it for $26.5k before all the fees/taxes (and including the full $7500...

This guy doesn't believe it: https://www.cybertruckownersclub.com/forum/threads/wth-is-tesla-doing.10787/ Not saying I agree with him. Some have chimed in that placed a recent $250 deposit and already got to order their CT. *shrug*

Wow I didn't realize the LFP RWD got that high in price. pretty crazy for sure. There's all these articles on EV's being cheaper in 2024, etc...but I figured at the $26k price range, even if prices come down, that will still be a great deal and the car should hold it's value fairly well. At...

Discussion: Model 3 and Y price drop Jan 2023 / April 2023 / Oct 2023 and All other Pricing Speculation going forward

I finally broke down and bought the RWD Model 3 for 2nd car. Got the inventory model with discounts for $35,090. Add in the CT order holder discount of $1k, and $7500 tax credit, that's $26,590 without including taxes/fees/etc.

Looks like it, and at this point, unless one pops up that's near by you and available for immediate pickup, you may not get delivery in time. I purchased mine back on the 21st and I'm still waiting for delivery. I assume I'll get it before the end of the week, at least I'm really hoping so. lol
  48. D

Discussion: Model 3 Price reductions - Jan / April / Oct 2023 and all other pricing discussions

I think so too. That's why I finally got one when the $35,090 price popped near by. I just don't see it coming much (if at all) lower than that. It's a great deal at that price.
  49. D

Discussion: Model 3 Price reductions - Jan / April / Oct 2023 and all other pricing discussions

So far it doesn't seem like any have been discounted lower than the $35,090 price. Has anyone seen any lower than that? I ended up purchasing at that price so I should just stop looking but I can't help myself.... I figure if it's significantly lower, I could lose the $250 and still save more...
