Discussion : All discussion regarding Model 3 and Tax credit in model 3 subforum

When I click through one of the used Model 3's, there is no mention of a credit, whereas if you do that for a new Model Y they explicitly list the $7500 in the cash breakdown. I guess I could chat someone at Tesla and ask. The AGI limits for Used are low, but I am asking for a college student.

Discussion : All discussion regarding Model 3 and Tax credit in model 3 subforum

Do you mean the POS portion? The FAQ's seem to indicate the Transfer is for both the New and the Used credit. I've also already seen dealerships state that they offer the Used POS transfer...

Discussion : All discussion regarding Model 3 and Tax credit in model 3 subforum

Does anyone know if and when Tesla might start offering the Used Clean Vehicle Credit ($4000) on their used vehicles as Point-Of-Sale? There are 2 Model 3's right now that are under $25K on the Tesla website.

Thoughts on buying a used Model 3 from Hertz?

Does anyone know if used Model 3's qualify for the 2024 Used EV Tax Credit? New Model 3's don't qualify anymore, so does that mean that used ones don't either? It looks like the Highlands are now available to order, let's see if that moves the used prices.

Thoughts on buying a used Model 3 from Hertz?

Did some more digging, likely the high-mileage in short period means that these are the results of the Hertz Uber Tesla rental program? It would be a bit better if they were Uber drivers who put on the miles. I will also observe the market when the Highland comes out, we don't really need...

Thoughts on buying a used Model 3 from Hertz?

Any thoughts on buying a high-mileage (~80k miles) 2021 M3 SR+ like this one, for a college-bound child? The SR+ range would be plenty, the price seems lower than anything else I've seen, but the mileage is a bit concerning as it is getting very close to the Battery and Drive Unit warranty limit...

    Supercharger - Sanford, FL

This Supercharger charges $0.34 per kWh. By comparison, the EVgo station in the same lot with CCS charges between $0.42 and $0.56 per kWh depending on the time of day. Do you not have access to charging at home? That would be $0.11 per kWh or $0.07 per kWh if you are on the FPL TOU plan. And...

    Supercharger - Sanford, FL

Welcome to Sanford! It would be tough not to have at home charging, but yes the Target one should work well for you then. A quick charge up during a shopping trip. I was reading that the flooding might stick around until Thanksgiving! Crazy stuff.

    Supercharger - Sanford, FL

FSD Beta drove me to Target with one disengament (right turn lane was backed up and it was about to pull a very socially unacceptable move), to take these pictures And here is a bonus picture from the Sanford river/lake front which is still flooded from Hurrican Ian.

I'll grab some this weekend, the pedestals were up when I was there today but there we a lot of workers so I didn't want to snap a pic.

Digging has started and the highlighted area is fenced off next to the Pollo Tropical. 3 large Tesla Energy branded boxes are onsite. I'll keep checking on it on my weekly Target runs!

Cost of removing and reinstalling solar panels during roof replacement

My homeowner's insurance company is making me replace my 18 year old asphalt shingle roof. I have a 14.7 kW (51 panel) solar system on it right now. I called the original installer, and they quoted me $12,629 to take off, then re-install the panels. Does this sound right? The original system was...

    Airstream/Thor introduce the eStream concept

I didn't personally lay eyes on a CCS receptacle, but there was a J1772 charging pedestal mockup next to the trailer, and they did tell me it had Level 3 charging, so I would assume the trailer can take CCS fast charging. It would make most sense. On the big red button, maybe it is a HV battery...

    Airstream/Thor introduce the eStream concept

They didn't specifically say, but they said no propane, so I am assuming it was a heat pump AC system. Oh yeah, there was a big red panic button on the trailer arm, I guess just in case of a runaway type situation while remote controlling it. They mentioned the ability to park and plug in the...

    Airstream/Thor introduce the eStream concept

We saw this e-Stream prototype at the Florida RV Supershow this last weekend in Tampa. I didn't think to take pictures, but it looked pretty much the same as in the video. We weren't allowed in the trailer but you could peek through the door, the layout was pretty much the same as any Airstream...

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

So the tech called me at 8:30AM asking what else I needed, because all they had me down was for a tire check and nothing else. I tried to explain that I needed the camera upgrade, but it sounded like he had no idea what that was. He said he would talk to his supervisor about it, and that my...

Sentry Mode inadvertently records airshow performers

I thought people might find this interesting, I had parked in the grass off to the side at the Orlando-Sanford Air and Space show, and the car recorded a number of passes by the Thunderbirds, F/A-18, F-22, even a MV-22 once in airplane mode and once in helicopter mode. There was one Alarm event...

Wheel Alignment service for MX in Orlando area other than Tesla?

Bringing this thread back up, does anyone have any further recommendations for an alignment in the north Orlando area? Tire selection for Model X

Is there a reason not to buy the cheapest available tire, like these? $456 for the set, they look within specs, noisier maybe? At these prices, worth getting a set to try out? The Service Center just told me to start thinking about another set of tires, not fancying paying $1800...

    Minor damage from hit-and-run

On our way to dinner tonight in a heavy rain storm, a 4 door full size pickup truck pulling an enclosed trailer left their lane and tapped our Model X on the left rear wheel well trim piece, cracking it. Options trading strategy/advice

Looking for some (not) advice. I am comfortable with my long buy-and-hold strategy and I am leaving that alone. But I've come to realize it will not allow me to retire early and travel the world. Lizards got into my locked Model X!

If it helps, they were very jumpy. When I chased them off, they just jumped around, didn't do any running at all. As far as them having been in the car already, that is actually a good possibility come to think of it. I remember hearing some thumps the day before, and thought to check for loose...

We normally do not allow eating in the X, but I had to pick up my son before school lunch for a doctor's appointment, so I let him start eating in the parking lot before the appointment. He wasn't done by the time we had to go in, so we just left the chicken caesar salad in the locked car...

Chevy Bolt - 200 mile range for $30k base price (after incentive)

Sanity check here... Our main vehicle is an X, and we both work from home so only really need a 2nd vehicle maybe once or twice a month. Who has solar power at their home? Please chime in....

I am in central Florida too, and I have a 14.7 kW system. FPL allows net metering, so for each kWh you overproduce during the day and send to the grid, you get one kWh back for free at night. So if you had a big enough system that produced 100% of your usage, on average, your bill would be 0...

Latest Model X Issue - Driver Profiles Not Working for Seat Settings

Hi @NewTMSMan , was this recalibration done at the Service Center, or remotely? Or perhaps it is something that can be done by mobile service? My symptoms are like yours, the Driver Profiles don't move the seat. They move the steering wheel. I've tried reset with and without brake, power down...

    Let's Talk FPL Rate Options

Yeah our house is too big basically. And both the wife and I work from home, so the AC is going 24-7 down here in Florida. We have a pool with no heater, and an electrically heated hot tub. According to our Sense monitor the AC is by far the biggest user, at more than half. The water heater is a...

    Let's Talk FPL Rate Options

For those still interested, I got my latest bill. It now correctly shows I am on the RTR-1 Residential Time Of Use Rate. It also contained this handy stat: my time of use charge was $137, and it would have been $175 on the regular rate. This is probably all I will need to keep track of. Also...

12V battery replacement cost at Orlando Service Center?

Waiting for Mobile Service to call me back... I was thinking, in an emergency, could you "jump" the battery with one of those 12V powerpacks? Once the car gets enough 12V juice, will the traction battery keep things going? Or can the powerpack keep things going if you leave it connected, at...

12V battery replacement cost at Orlando Service Center?

Hello, can someone tell me if they got charged, and how much, to replace the 12V battery at the Orlando Service Center or by Mobile Service in this area? My X is 2.5 years old, so still under warranty, but from what I understand the 12V battery is excluded. Depending on the price I might DIY...

    Let's Talk FPL Rate Options

Our solar offsets around 50% of our usage. I don't have a full bill yet, but based on the last partial ToU one, I think each kWh I send during peak hours, is used to offset a peak kWh I use. Because of my relative low offset, I use this peak credit within the same bill. The language seems to...

    Let's Talk FPL Rate Options

My Time-of-Use plus Net Metering meter, which replaced my Smart Meter, does not give me access to hour-by-hour information anymore, they were very clear about that when I switched. Let's Talk FPL Rate Options

I just switched over to FPL's ToU residential plan, after about a year of research. Since getting a Tesla and rooftop solar (no batteries, but it offsets peak hours nicely), I was curious to see if I would save any money on the ToU plan. As alluded to in previous posts, information is very hard...

Wanted, 40A 14-50 home charger @ reasonable price

What is the difference between the Gen 2 Mobile Connector Bundle at $275, and the Corded Mobile Connector at $520? Certainly the inclusion of the 14-50 adapter does not make up the price difference? Has anyone actually bought the $275 version?

Benefits of solar panels/Powerwall in areas with low electric rates

Does your utility not provide net metering? I have a 14.7kW system with no battery backup, and I also pay $0.11 per kWh. The system cost $30K before incentives. Florida Power and Light offers one-to-one net metering, so I use them as my "battery" for day-to-day usage, but of course there is no...

Sitting idle in garage for 3 months

Look in the front trunk for this: It will plug into the outlet you showed. Do not buy the Wall Charger, it requires a 240V outlet to plug into. Your standard 120V outlet you show should be more than sufficient if you don't have a commute.

Sitting idle in garage for 3 months

One of the huge benefits of owning an electric car is being able to recharge at home, and never needing to go somewhere to charge it.
