70 does not mean retrofit. Loads of part numbers in the manual has «70» before the letter. I’m inclined to think it has more to do with region, or maybe revision (the letter usually signifies revision, though). Part number is of course different for 2.0 and 2.5. But the 3.0 is the same for S and X

My AP1 car has an EyeQ3 chip that can detect pedestrians, and ultrasonics that does self-parking and summon. I bet my U-box chip is decent enough as well. I'm sure @wk057 can develop the same Enhanced Summon on his (wife's) AP1 car that we're seeing on these videos!

Show me summon or self-parking that reads the road surface markings. Then I'll applaud!

Yah, the newer the more reliable. So a disagreement such as this: «HD map: Stop sign, timestamped 3 minutes ago» versus «NN: Splattered bug on windshield, no visual on any stop sign» should perhaps send some brake command (unless «NN: Semi truck at full speed 1 meter behind you»). Or...?

The camera sensors / NNs could be completely or partially blind for a road sign (or something else stationary), e.g. due to fog or rain or light conditions. When that’s the case, an HD map is obviously good redundancy. So I anticipate your next question: How would the cameras (NNs) know that...
