New firmware causes MCU to reboot frequently due to aftermarket audio?

I took my car to the Tysons service center and they resolved MCU issue. Here is the solution: Technician reflashed bluetooth module due to corrupt module data. Advised by engineering team if MCU still reboots after the reflash to perform a factory reset. Note: I had to take the car to Safe &...

New firmware causes MCU to reboot frequently due to aftermarket audio?

Remember I said the reboot issue did not surface until firmware version 2018.4.1.ec044c8 and I took delivery of the car in December 2016! Everything had been flawless for over a year. I really hope the service center will be able to pinpoint the issue this Friday and resolve it.

New firmware causes MCU to reboot frequently due to aftermarket audio?

After all, nothing has changed because the MCU is now rebooting every 15-20 minutes. The only change I made last night was that I reset the charge limit to 90% just as it was before I went on the trip this past weekend. I seriously hope the service center will be able to address this issue...

New firmware causes MCU to reboot frequently due to aftermarket audio?

Ouch! The MCU rebooted an hour ago as I was driving home, but it hadn't done so all day. I drove about 150 miles today. I will take the car to the Tyson's service center next week so they can take a look at what's going on.

New firmware causes MCU to reboot frequently due to aftermarket audio?

The MCU rebooting issue has been consistent, but, today, when I was driving from DC to Delaware, the MCU did not reboot until after a little bit over an hour, whereas it had been happening consistently rebooting every 15-20 minutes. What was different today? I noticed that there was a new...

New firmware causes MCU to reboot frequently due to aftermarket audio?

Folks! The new firmware did not resolve the issue. The MCU reboots every 15-20 minutes. I'm not sure what to do as even the Tesla service center was unable to resolve the issue. It's extremely annoying!!! I got so upset today that I drove my ICE car today. Why does the MCU keep rebooting?

New firmware causes MCU to reboot frequently due to aftermarket audio?

I took my car to the Rockville service center yesterday morning. One engineer told me that, based on the log information he was seeing, there had not been any reboots of the MCU since I had last spoken with the service center. That was quite disturbing to hear because the MCU had consistently...

New firmware causes MCU to reboot frequently due to aftermarket audio?

I installed firmware version 2018.4.1.ec044c8 last week and ever since, the MCU has been rebooting every 15 minutes. I got so annoyed with that problem that I ended up calling the service center over the weekend. I was told to ensure the energy saving was disabled and the other checkbox for...

Main Screen keeps rebooting by itself?

After installing update 2018.4.1.ec044c8, the display unit reboots every 15 minutes. It's really annoying. I called Tesla Support and I was told to delete all my Nav history and I did, but that did not fix the issue. The Energy Saving setting was enabled, but I displayed it after instructed...

Is this the best sounding Tesla?

I recently took my car to Safe & Sound for a non-audio related project and given that the speakers were broken in, Matt decided to retune the system and created a new setting on the Mosconi DSP with more dynamic range and bass. All I can say is WOW! The sound is out of this world. To quote...

Is this the best sounding Tesla?

After listening to the system for a few weeks now, I'm still trying to determine whether such a high investment was worth it. There is no question that the sound is way better than the stock UHFS system. However, when playing heavily compressed music, there is not a significant difference and...

Safe and Sound in Chantilly, VA has done it again (audio upgrade)!

I was at a Safe & Sound today at about 12:30 PM to pick up a hi-res player and Matt told me you had just picked up your Tesla, but he was able to show me some pictures of the subwoofer enclosure and I must say he hit out of the park. It seems that everything Matt does ends up being a masterpiece.

Is this the best sounding Tesla?

I have not had a chance to listen too much to the car as I'm currently out of town. However, after I picked it up from Safe & Sound yesterday afternoon, I spent quite a bit of time listening to music since I was caught in the rush hour traffic and when I finally got home, I remained in the...

Is this the best sounding Tesla?

After the paint protection was applied, I did that one week later going into my garage. I am supposed to take it back to see if they can do something about it, but I have not had a chance to do so.

Is this the best sounding Tesla?

After taking delivery of my Model S P100D in December 2016, I decided to replace the UHFS system with an ultra audiophile system. The UHFS system is not bad and I think most people would be satisfied with it, but I was looking to go the extra mile. After doing a lot of research, I received...

How to Achieve Optimal Sound Without Overloading 12V Battery

It has begun! I saw the amps (1 ZERO1 and 2 ZERO4), the speakers and the BattMobile batteries today when I dropped off the car. The Mosconi ZERO1 is huge!!! By the way, I am replacing the factory battery with a BattMobile battery and I'm also putting two extra ones in the trunk. They are...

How to Achieve Optimal Sound Without Overloading 12V Battery

The quote had a lighted front T which I am no longer going with since one is not available for the new Tesla Model S. However, I'm still going with the rear T and I am also adding the lighted emblem: As for the camera, I'm leaning toward the Thinkware 770, but Safe & Sound has installed...

How to Achieve Optimal Sound Without Overloading 12V Battery

I have decided to go with Safe and Sound, but it was not an easy decision because all three shops are great. If you are considering an aftermarket market solution, you cannot go wrong any of these three shops. They all know their stuff and they do not bash one another. There could be other...

How to Achieve Optimal Sound Without Overloading 12V Battery

A couple of weeks ago, I went to Safe & Sound and I got to meet Matt whose work is absolutely immaculate. I had hoped to make it to Driven Mobile Electronics to see Chris and to Kartunes to see Mike, but by the time I got out of Safe & Sound, it was after 5:00 PM and these two shops were...

How to Achieve Optimal Sound Without Overloading 12V Battery

Xenoilphobe, with your permission, I am now sharing our conversation on February 4, 2017. Here is what you wrote: As far as the low amperage 12 volt 32 Amp Hour battery in the Tesla, even when the car is sleeping it pulls about 50 watts, which = 4.5 amps per hour. Source: Why Tesla's lead...

How to Achieve Optimal Sound Without Overloading 12V Battery

Which LH package did you get? Model S.12P without the sub? If so, it is now $1,450.00. If you are happy with the system and it hasn't caused any issues, I'll reconsider my options. Have you had the new amp long enough to say it is reliable? I'm wondering if Tesla might have recently...

How to Achieve Optimal Sound Without Overloading 12V Battery

Thanks for the feedback. As for LH, I am still seeing complaints from folks on another thread as recently as yesterday. I'm concerned that folks are having to wait months to receive a new amp after a previous one goes bad. If it were not for the reliability and customer service issues that I...

How to Achieve Optimal Sound Without Overloading 12V Battery

Yes, at first, I was considering the Light Harmonic system, but after reading through the 50+ - page thread and seeing all the complaints about the reliability of the amp and also the lack of customer support, I changed my mind. Perhaps. LM is great, but I want to have peace of mind.

I have a Model S P100D with the UHFS package, but I'm looking to upgrade to an audiophile system. When I first listened to the UHFS, I was not impressed at all, but now, I feel that the sound has gotten better. I created another thread on this forum asking for advice on the best aftermarket...

Where is the version of the autonomous software used in October's video?

Where is the version of the autonomous software used in October's video?

I don't think anyone is questioning the greatness of Tesla. As I stated previously, they currently have no competition since they're so far ahead of everyone else. If it is true that they don't respect deadlines, it is because they can get away with it. Which other EVs will you flock to if...

I'm a new owner and obviously, you know more about Tesla than I do. Thanks for sharing Tesla owners ought to be stoic or they should get other cars. Seriously, I'm excited about my car or I would not have made such a huge investment by getting a fully loaded P100D. However, hearing that the...

I'm still very excited about my Model S, but I probably could have waited another year or two. I was going to get a 2017 Panamera Turbo and then, I heard the AP2.0 announcement, watched the FSD video and I was sold! I don't regret my decision, but I am concerned that the features that I was...

Where is the version of the autonomous software used in October's video?

Tesla can get away with this because there is no competition. When I read on the Tesla website that AP1 parity would be attained by December 2016, I believed it and so did many other owners. I can clearly understand why some owners are frustrated with Tesla for releasing the first version of...

Where is the version of the autonomous software used in October's video?

In October 2016, Tesla released a video showcasing the full self-driving capability of a Model X and it was very impressive. I canceled my ICE car order which was due to be delivered in late December and immediately ordered a Model S P100D. I assumed then that the codebase behind the FSD...

Those red seats are NICE!!! I am sure the sound is significantly better than the stock audio. Now that I've done some research on car audio systems, spending $10K seems quite reasonable. How much is too much? I know it depends on the individual, but really, how much would you spend on an...
