I have an odd situation - my CAV decal cert says 1/27/2016 under "date issued," which is a typo - it should be 1/27/2017. However, the time stamp on the bottom clearly states 02/02/2017. To be clear, the car was purchased in 12/16 and I applied for decals in 12/16, ended up receiving them 2/17...

Yes but the total tax burden is rough in CA (as I know it used to be in MA and CT when I lived there). 13.3% marginal income tax at the top, 8+% sales tax, etc. so it all adds up through death via 1000x cuts.

Same situation as you - 12/16 purchase, $80-->$258 on the registration fee portion. Of course the License Fee is another $430 and my total is $695.

I get all that, my point was do you have to leave the garage with your vehicle and re-enter to get the second ticket? I'm not sure how one would obtain a second ticket while on foot, sans car, due to weight sensors.

Tesla certified body shop in SD took care of it and sent it to the local SC for calibration, etc. Comp coverage via insurance (Ameriprise), costs are: $815 for the windshield itself, $425 for "triple camera sensor reset", 4+ hrs labor, so almost $2k all in.

In both cases I suspect it was a friend of the sales person who put in the order....it has been alleged that the sales folks get under the table kickbacks for using certain referral codes.

Let me state with certainty then that they do not refer to an actual Target store - check a random assortment of them, many if not all say "Target." The closest Target store to Del Mar is Encinitas, about 8 miles away. Unfortunately down in SoCal very few SCs are anywhere near a Target store.
