Yes, you can buy two years of premium connectivity at one time. Mine goes out to Mar 2026.

Does Tesla offer PPF rear door/rocker panel

The ones I got were similar. Two major issues. 1. It was hard, so a speedbump could destroy them (or worse, the mounting holes). 2. From the back, it looks okay. But from the front (see 6th photo and photos from customer reviews) it's like a big scooper. It looks unfinished and will catch all...

Does Tesla offer PPF rear door/rocker panel

I would also add that the ones from Tesla look nice. The ones I ordered from Amazon originally just looked horrible and were much harder to install.

Vendor Watt Time & Watt Key - Wear OS Watch Apps To Control Your Tesla

So I noticed when connected via Watt Key, if I walk away from my car, the doors will close and lock. This doesn't happen when I use my phone to connect. Is there a way to disable this? I've accidentally closed the door on folks if I wander too far away. Thanks!

Model X, FWD, and young children safety anxiety

The fastest and easiest way to get kids out is something like: https://www.amazon.com/IPOW-Antiskid-Seatbelt-Life-Saving-Emergency/dp/B01AXCGJNQ/ref=sr_1_12?crid=Y0U7AU0L5GW2&keywords=seatbelt+cutter&qid=1690395553&s=hi&sprefix=seatbelt+cutter%2Ctools%2C134&sr=1-12 Hit the corner of the window...

    Cruise Control on new Teslas

Sounds like Pruitt found his answer. For the rest of the folks, I've had a 2017 X (AP2) and a 2023 X. Both have TACC (without using autosteer). In the 2017, you pull the stalk towards you once for TACC, twice for autopilot. In the 2023, you need to set the setting in the Autopilot menu -->...

Third party dashcam in 23 X

Do people still install third party dashcams in refresh X's? The built in one doesn't have as wide a field of view as I'm used to. If so, where are you getting power to it?
  8. H

    Rear camera field of view

This is the view from my 2017 X. You can still see the bumper in the corners if you look for it. However, the overall camera view is not as jarring as the 2023 X. If this is the new normal, then it's the new normal. However, it's definitely different from before.

    Rear camera field of view

I just picked up a new X a couple weeks ago, and wondered about the rear view camera. Is it normal to see the car on the corners of the field of view? My old X didn't look like this.

Suma Performance convex mirrors for Refreshed X

If the shape is not identical, it's really close. Looking at it side by side, I can't tell the difference. Hope you don't mind, I didn't want to pull the mirror off again.
  11. H

Suma Performance convex mirrors for Refreshed X

No problem connecting. I'd say it adjusts a little bit less at the extremes than stock mirrors, but it was the same on my 2017. As for defrosting, I'm in San Diego. I honestly don't remember ever defrosting in my life, so would have no way of testing. For the photo, what are you looking for...

Suma Performance convex mirrors for Refreshed X

Just to follow up on this, I pulled my Suma mirrors off my 2017 Model X, and it fits on my new 2023 Model X just fine. Looking at the 2017 and 2023 OEM mirrors side by side, there's definitely some minor changes, but the size is exactly the same. The 2023 OEM mirrors are definitely a bit harder...

Suma Performance convex mirrors for Refreshed X

I would be interested in these. I have them on my 2017 X, and would like another set on my new ones. Count me in!

Solutions for Headsets for kids in the back seats

Thanks all. Yeah, I've tried not allowing them to watch TV in the car, but there's only so much you can do when the TV is right in front of their faces. Best compromise I can do is only if we're parked at a supercharger. It was a lot easier 20+ years ago when the option doesn't exist. It's like...

Solutions for Headsets for kids in the back seats

I've got three kids in the back, and I'm tired of listening to Peppa Pig/Paw Patrol/whatever cartoon they're into that particular day. Can I connect three bluetooth headsets to the car? Alternatively, is there an audio out port? Does the USB ports output audio? Anyone have suggestions for a...

    SDGE EVTOU?

I got solar in 2015 (NEM 1.0), and then added an X in 2017. The SDGE bill for the first month after getting the X was brutal. I immediately switched to EV-TOU-2, and then later to EV-TOU-5 when it was available. I assume you need to call them for these plans since they need to know you have an...

Vendor Watt Time & Watt Key - Wear OS Watch Apps To Control Your Tesla

Hi. I'm interested in Watt Key. However, I've seen mentions of where the phone bluetooth connection with the car is sometimes unreliable, and so they need to keep the keycard with them as a backup. Is that a situation where the NFC key function in Watt Time is useful? Are there any plans of...

Possible to put 3 car seats in the middle row of a 7-seater?

Hi all. I currently have a 2017 6 seater, but am considering switching to 7 seater for more cargo space. I'd have put three car seats (two forward facing, one booster) in the second row. Does anyone do this already? Anyone willing to measure the width from door to door for me? Thanks in advance!

Has Anyone Already Designed a Model X Rear Bumper Tow-Hitch Cover Cut-Out?

I did this last year. See: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/modifying-hitch-receiver-dust-cover.138875/#post-6726689 Takes about 5 minutes if you have the right tool. Or 5 minutes plus a pit stop at Home Depot.

Increased wh/mi after front shaft replacement service.

For what it's worth, it's not ambient temperature related. I have the same issue, and I live in San Diego. Our winters are like our summers, with a splash of drizzle. https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/increase-in-wh-mile-after-halfshaft-replacement.280444/
  22. H

Increase in Wh/mile after halfshaft replacement

It doesn't need to be the exact same. When the difference is over 30% higher Wh/mile, there's a lot of leeway. You can almost tow a trailer at that difference.
  23. H

Increase in Wh/mile after halfshaft replacement

I was never able to get it fixed. Service center kept saying that's in the EPA spec. Which it's obviously not. I'm tempted to just keep flooring it until the half shafts break again, get them fixed under warranty again, and see if that resolves it.

    A month for service..

I had the same error messages. Intermittent grounding would short can circuit. Accessed and...

Increase in Wh/mile after halfshaft replacement

So I ended up jacking up a wheel, and tried to spinning it. It's definitely rubbing against something. Shouldn't it spin relatively freely?

Increase in Wh/mile after halfshaft replacement

So I managed to drive 6 miles over 20 minutes. No brakes at all (yay for slightly uphill driveway). Average speed a bit under 20 mph. 356 Wh/mi. Measured these temperatures: Temp before Temp after Driver Front 69.3 73.2 Passenger Front 69.8 74.1 Driver Rear 67.1 74.1 Passenger Rear...

Increase in Wh/mile after halfshaft replacement

Well, mine doesn't stop completely with Regen. Going to have to think about a route with a slight uphill at the end. In any case, I assume if it's the rotor, only one rotor will be misaligned, so if one is a lot hotter than the rest, I'll have something to point at.
  28. H

Increase in Wh/mile after halfshaft replacement

Thanks! Where can I find this requirement? I'm going to guess I'll need to show them.
  29. H

Increase in Wh/mile after halfshaft replacement

That's a good idea. How do I check? I assume it'd be one of the front brakes?

Increase in Wh/mile after halfshaft replacement

Unfortunately, they didn't give me one. Just pulled up a picture on their screen with everything in the green. I don't think I've ever gotten a print out.

Increase in Wh/mile after halfshaft replacement

I'll have to look more into it. I don't have an can bus reader, and don't really want to buy one to troubleshoot. You'd think Tesla should be able to see the same (or better) data. Hopefully I can leave this to plan C.
  33. H

Increase in Wh/mile after halfshaft replacement

Yup. It's part of the half shaft replacement. Plus I paid for another after I noticed the increase in Wh/mile. So this isn't it, unfortunately.

Increase in Wh/mile after halfshaft replacement

2017 X 100D. I think it was rated at 330ish. But normally around town up to 380 is common because of hills and number of people/cargo in the car. But never 400+.
  35. H

Increase in Wh/mile after halfshaft replacement

Hi folks. Hoping to get some advice here. I got the half shaft replacement about a month ago, and I've noticed the Wh/mile increase significantly after the replacement. Before - I would average 360-380 Wh/mile. After - averaging 500 Wh/mile. No change in load, driving style, etc. The service...

Question about Unicorns - does a Model X 100d or p100d with transferable free supercharging exist? Likely has to be late 2016 or early 2017 model?

This is the correct overall answer for 100D, but the years are off. I had a 75D on order in Dec 2016 with transferable free supercharging. In January 2017, the 100D was released and I switched to that one. The trade off was no more free supercharging at all, which I remember going back and forth...

    Modifying hitch receiver dust cover

Finally got around to cutting a hole in the dust cover for the tow hitch receiver. Turned out great! Auto Socks or Chains?

If using chains, only put on rear wheels since there is little clearance on the front tires. If using autosocks, their website recommends on all wheels. See second to last FAQ. https://autosock.us/faq/ I have a set of the autosocks, but primarily to show the CHP in case they ask. If it gets...

Where do you all put your USB devices for dashcam?

Another poster, Akikiki, did something similar to this. After the right angle extension from the center console, you can get a long usb cable (can't remember if it's 6 or 10 feet) and run it to the glove compartment very easily. If you enable the PIN for the glove compartment, then your usb...

Where can I buy/rent snow chains for an X with 20 in wheels in San Diego? Need by the weekend.

Big Bear of course! It's going to snow and have a high of 32F this weekend. Completely crazy. I don't expect to need them, but wanted something in case I run into chain restrictions.

Where can I buy/rent snow chains for an X with 20 in wheels in San Diego? Need by the weekend.

Thanks all! Ended up getting the auto socks. It's primarily for the must carry requirements. If the snow is that bad, I probably won't go.
