Ordering CPO.. difference between 2014 and 2015 descriptions

Tech package with Autopilot is the same as Autopilot 1.0 Hardware.

    My CPO buying experience timeline

Tesla doesn't tint windows, at least they didn't at that time. The previous owner tinted your windows. Can't tell from the pictures if the front and rear side windows are the same or not. It they aren't it is a dead giveaway that the windows are tinted, but yours are clearly tinted already.

    2014 CPO w/ 4500mi ??

I would assume it is just someone with too many toys, especially in LA. A loaner would have a lot more miles on it. Odds are it has been in a garage for most of it's life. That being said I wouldn't spend $74k on a car without AP1.

CPO Ordering - Website or SC?

Depends on how good of a deal it is and how many similar cars there are. For example cars with 4 year warranties and Autopilot under $60K don't stick around very long. It feels like the price of these has actually gone up several thousand in the last couple weeks (very happy with my $58.5K AP1...

    Buying a CPO

Currently 3-10 weeks depending on location of the car, status of the car and how busy your local SC is right now.

Considering buying inventory 75D - No enhanced autopilot?

On a one year old car you are going to take a bath, assuming you bought it new. I would be surprised if it isn't 20% out more less than what you paid and that doesn't include tax. Not sure about Canada, but here you don't have to pay tax on the value of the trade, which makes trading a car in...

    My CPO buying experience timeline

Just finished fully charging my car to check where the max range is and currently showing 260 for a 2014 85, so 5 miles (or less than 2% in 2.5 years). Super happy to see that!

Here the HOV Lane is almost always the fast lane, but particularly during Rush Hour where it is just an issue of there being fewer cars in the lane. One of the big perks of having an EV is you can drive in the HOV Lane by yourself.

    My CPO buying experience timeline

It actually goes away. It is only present under low power while accelerating at low speed. This seems pretty typical of the milling issue in '14's and the reason for the 8 year warranty. If it ends up being an issue I am sure they will swap it out and I will get a loaner for a few days. The...

Question on CPO MS with rear facing seats

Nope, they know how it works, CPO's don't count for them, so they aren't motivated to help. That is why they will try to sell you on a base/base/base MS70 with the tax rebate. The SA I was working with out of Santana Row was great until it became clear I was going CPO and then I never heard from...

    My CPO buying experience timeline

Picked up my car this morning, only got to drive it in traffic back to the office. Car looks great, there are a few marks on the headliner, but other than that it looks pristine. On the other hand, there is a definite milling noise when accelerating slowly at low speed, so I may be getting a new...

2 year vs 4 year warranty, is there option to extend

The 2 year cars are generally much higher mileage than the 4 year cars, so the increase in cost is a combination of significantly lower mileage on the car and the longer warranty. Generally you are looking at $0.25 (maybe a little more on a Tesla), so every 10K miles is $2500, so a car with 20K...

    My CPO buying experience timeline

Update on my timeline. Reserved on 5/15, listed in LA but may have actually already been in Fremont (same market, no transfer fee). Originally told 8-11 weeks (Derek was my SA as well and he has been great). Lots of updated including pictures. However he was still saying the same timeline...

Need help deciding, CPO P85 with no tech package

Other option would be to get a non-P with lower miles. I pulled the trigger about a month ago on a 2014 S85 with Autopilot and 22K miles for $58.5K. In terms of helping with resale, I imagine Autopilot is going to really help but also increased the price. I understand the appeal of the P, but...

    My CPO buying experience timeline

It was what I was told after I put the deposit down. I assume it is probably related to the new higher mileage program, where they were running those through (my pickup location is Fremont). However, I got an email tonight that it might be ready sooner, so we will see. While, I am looking...

My car has started refund last week (deposit was made on 5/15) and it sounds like we are still looking at August, so you got more of a medium length straw.

    Price Check - 2014 Model S 85 with AP

Significantly less than the car above due to mileage and less warranty. I would ballpark it in the high 40's to low 50's. I got one similar to the one above with 22K miles, AP1, leather seats and Sub Zero for $58.5 but haven't taken delivery yet. 50,000 more miles could knock up to 12K off the...

    CPO: Trade-ins, Financing...how's it work?

My understanding is the referral codes are only good on new vehicles, not on CPO's.

    My CPO buying experience timeline

My Sales Rep specifically told me to hold off on applying for financing cause it would only be good for 30 days and the wasn't in the expected delivery window. My car is at the Factory and has been since before or slightly after I purchased it. They apparently started working on it this week...

    My CPO buying experience timeline

I picked one that was listed as being in LA and live about 30 mins from the Fremont factory. I placed the order on 5/15 and they have had the car there for a while now, but are still quoting 8-11 weeks for delivery. The car is sitting in a parking lot in Fremont right now. While I guess there is...

Advice on 2014 Model S 85 with Autopilot for $55K

The listing had "Tan Performance Leather Seats" which the service center confirmed as well as part of the original build. It sounds like he/she just rebadged it.

Advice on 2014 Model S 85 with Autopilot for $55K

Checked with the local service center and confirmed with the Sales Advisor... Turns out the previous owner did rebadge the car to a P85. Still a deal I am very happy with, not a ridiculous deal like I had hoped when I got the pictures, but now I have fewer concerns that there is something wrong...

Advice on 2014 Model S 85 with Autopilot for $55K

Yeah, is my concern. I think I may give the local service center a call today and see if they can look up the car based on the VIN. Apparently it is up in Fremont right now waiting to go through the Reconditioning and Certification process.

Advice on 2014 Model S 85 with Autopilot for $55K

It does, except for a 2014 85... the 8th digit on mine is a 1, which just means Single Motor From: Decoding Tesla Model S VINs and So 2014's fall into this strange limbo where you can't use the VIN to determine if it is a S85, P85 or P85+ because the all have a 1. I think this may explain...

Advice on 2014 Model S 85 with Autopilot for $55K

Looks like there are several that have shown up on teslainventory.com https://teslainventory.com/?trim=Model%20S%20P85 There are 7 old listings, with VIN's ranging from 55720 to 65226 for P85 with Autopilot, on the other hand there are 206 P85D's (so A LOT more), ranging from 55136 to 139117. So...

Advice on 2014 Model S 85 with Autopilot for $55K

That is something I saw here and other places as well. I don't think that are any cases where people got a car without the options listed, but particularly on the 85's there were options that weren't listed and in rare cases there were P's or D's not listed as such.

Advice on 2014 Model S 85 with Autopilot for $55K

Last 5 of the VIN are 60996, based on that it should have AP1 and I confirmed with the SA that it has AP1 Hardware (the listing just said Tech Package with Autopilot where a lot of them list Autopilot 1 Hardware as well. I saw it pop-up Monday night two weeks ago and immediately jumped on it...

Advice on 2014 Model S 85 with Autopilot for $55K

I was told 4-6 weeks by the local dealership, having not done much research beforehand on CPO delivery time, I thought that was crazy compared to normal dealerships (obviously hadn't been here before) but I had a lease ending in mid June so I pulled the trigger on Monday. Turns out it is 8-11...

Advice on 2014 Model S 85 with Autopilot for $55K

Was that the one in Chicago? I ended up reserving another one with similar specs in LA on Monday night when they both popped up on the website. I preferred the color of yours, but it was in Chicago so it would have been a $2K Transport Fee while LA is free. The one I got was a super late 2014...
