Help with codes and driveline issue - incorrect diagnosis by Service

Ahhhh ok, this makes so much more sense. I recently bought a new car and stopped driving it on a regular basis, which sounds like perfect conditions for this problem to manifest. But also a perfect way for a brake caliper to seize, which was why this was so confusing. This morning Tesla put it...

Help with codes and driveline issue - incorrect diagnosis by Service

@ajbessinger looking at other threads it seems like you would be the closest shop to my location that does independent driveline repairs - does this sound like driveshaft or drive unit failure to you? Thanks!

Help with codes and driveline issue - incorrect diagnosis by Service

This one was installed in 2019. Is this a symptom of DU failure, even without error codes?

Help with codes and driveline issue - incorrect diagnosis by Service

Unfortunately its stuck at a Tesla Service centre now, too late for me to do their job for them at this point unless I tow it back home (I live too far to take the chance of driving it)

Help with codes and driveline issue - incorrect diagnosis by Service

My 2013 S60 RWD recently presented with stuck rear brake caliper symptoms, that e-brake feeling when driving at speed and sticking/almost jerking when accelerating at slow speeds. So much that I stopped driving it, and had it towed to service. Upon inspection, the service center found a parking...

Scrolling wheel on steering wheel easily breaks. Is the part available separately?

My left scroll wheel just failed without the "pushed in" look as seen in all the photos I could find. I assumed it was a failed scroll encoder and was prepared to solder in a new one, but upon disassembling, it turns out this was the same broken pin failure everyone else is having. I fixed it by...

Model S60 AC Intermittent and Making Noise

It makes that noise when transitions from blowing warm when it should be blowing cold, to blowing cold like it should. Then it usually goes away or happens every now and then when blowing cold. Blower fan speed doesn't seem to make a difference. I think I can rule out shunting AC to the battery...

Model S60 AC Intermittent and Making Noise

Last summer during a really hot day (40+C), my AC just stopped working, which was quite scary because we had to get our 5 week old baby home asap before the car got too hot. According to the teslafi log, it got up to 36C inside. Later that day I hopped in my car and it worked just fine and we...

2015 Model S Nav Map SD Card Swap?

EVFIXME sells a pre formatted, pre partitioned, SD card that's plug and play for $20. Worked great in my 2013 S60 with failing nav data. I took the MCU out, but it's good to know you can swap it without all that work.

    Replacing front upper A-arms

Is it mandatory to replace the bolts on this job? The service manual usually says "remove and discard" for parts that can't be re-used, but not in this case. Thx

    2013 P85 vibration *HELP*

After replacing bad upper and lower control arms in the front, they finally tried new rear halfshafts which seems to have fixed the problem! The part number said performance even though mine is just a RWD S60 REAR HALFSHAFT 36 MM, PERFORMANCE Part #: 1007719-00-C

WTB - Tan Next Gen Front Seats for Model S

Nice, thanks for the heads up! These ones are 4th gen, not next gen so they aren't quite plug and play. They are also in quite rough shape for the price he's asking - not trying to be picky but they seem quite messed up.

WTB - Tan Next Gen Front Seats for Model S

By make it to Blaine, I mean you could just ship them to Blaine. No need to actually bring them there yourself!

WTB - Tan Next Gen Front Seats for Model S

As per the title. Ideally you can ship to Victoria, BC, Canada. I can get them re-shipped across the border if they make it to Blaine, WA, but obviously the less hoops I have to jump through, the better. If you can see this post, I'm still looking. Thanks in advance.

    2013 P85 vibration *HELP*

So far they only did a test drive and said it's probably the drive shafts, but I'll make sure they check the bushings on my upcoming appointment

    2013 P85 vibration *HELP*

Another data point - they did the front control arms, including the sway bar end links, but not the rear drive shafts. No change to the vibration issue.

Adding Next Gen seats to an older S

Has anybody successfully done this?? I see a few sets of seat cushions/trim for sale and have experience with swapping seat covers. Far cheaper than dong the full seats.

    2013 P85 vibration *HELP*

I have the exact same issue with my S60 RWD. Hard acceleration from 90-120 km/h will make a hum/vibration and I also have a clunk when going slowly over speed bumps. Mobile service diagnosed front lower control arms are faulty and are getting swapped in a couple weeks, they are also going to do...

    WTB 20" Model X Slipstreams

The price is right, but I'm holding out for the right color. It would be too expensive to get those silver ones refinished. Thanks though!

    WTB 20" Model X Slipstreams

Wanted to buy, a set of 20" Model X Slipstreams in black or charcoal. Buying for a Model S so I don't need the tires. Would prefer to have center caps and Gen 2 TPMS though. I'm located on Victora, BC, Canada. Thanks!

Tesla Model S CPO Website - Now Live

The only things in there are my finance terms and the terms of the agreement, which I didn't notice until today actually says "Pre Owned" in the title too. Attached below.. Looks like I'll open a case with Tesla arbitration - thanks I had no idea that option existed, but I googled a newer...

Tesla Model S CPO Website - Now Live

I bought my 2013 Model S CPO in August 2017 with 30,000km with the understanding it came with the 4yr/80,000km warranty, so I should be good until 2021 or 110,000km. But when I recently brought it in for warranty service they told me the warranty expires in August and it only came with 2 years...

    Tesla Shortened My Cpo Warranty

I bought it by walking in to the Tesla store and speaking directly to their CPO sales rep. He said they just got it in on trade and it wasn't advertised on the website. I didn't get any warranty paperwork other than the part in the agreement that says "limited new car warranty". With regard to...

    Tesla Shortened My Cpo Warranty

I recently took my 2013 S60 in for warranty repairs (battery contactors failing) and upon arrival the check in sheet had "warranty expired" hand written across the top. Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

So I just got a "acceleration reduced contact Tesla service when convenient" message on my dashboard (2013 S 60). Based on forum searches this could be the contactors in my battery, but I'm still unclear on how major the problem is or what I should do. My local service center usually doesn't...

Tech Package Upgrades for a Non-Tech Package Ca

When I bought my CPO 2013 S60 I didn't think the absence of the tech package was a big deal, but I'm finding that I am really missing some of the features and am looking into what I can and can't upgrade on my car: The halogen headlights are terrible, so I'm curious if I can just buy OEM HID...

Vancouver Service Centre - top notch as usual

You are right, I should have been a little more persistent in trying to get ahold of them! Everything is all good now, they also went the extra mile to...

    Square or staggered?

The main disadvantage of the staggered setup is you can't rotate your tires, but maybe not such a big deal on a dual motor car. I just bought a set of square OEM 21" charcoal grey turbines from Auto Rim Shop on eBay for my S60. They let me know in advance that since I am in Canada there are no...

    My CPO buying experience timeline

My experience is based on a conversation with a CPO Model S owner that told me I could get a used Model S for around the same price as the Model 3 (my deposit placed April 3, 2016). I was skeptical because when casually browsing used S's they always seemed to be in the $80K + price range. 07/16...
