Did you already have the steering unit recall done? If not, yes, many of us have had the drive unit bolts fail.

Not all S have that. There was a window starting in late 2013 where that extra connector isn’t there. Guess where in that window my car is.

On mine it would second-latch with the fob but fully opened with button. New software update fixed it.

Mine was doing that every day right after the upgrade. A week or so later and it stopped. But the car is at the SC for other stuff so they are checking it out for me. If they find something I’ll post back.

Do you have apple watches? I’ve started putting the watch in airplane mode and voice command works better and call quality (transmit) is improved.

Tesla has an easy fix: if the weight changes in the front seat disable autopilot. Might need to add a timer so if people squirm around it doesn’t falsely turn off. But if the seat is empty for more than a minute there is no driver: pull over and shutdown until re-enabled by calling tesla...

MOST Bluetooth devices require a button push to initiate re-pairing once paired. So unless this on is really stupid, once you have it hooked to your phone no one else can get to it unless they are already sitting in your car.

No. Pulling out of the driveway and losing steering was the first symptom for me. I think the “bump” of going out of the driveway was “the last straw” and the bolts gave way.

If apple maps would add waze-like social updating, and then use it to route around traffic, then I would be quite happy with it. But right now it goes “there is an accident ahead but that’s ‘the route’ so let’s go check it out”.

The problem with what Kenwood is doing, according to my stereo installer that talked directly to them at CES, is that waze and pandora are “equivalent” apps so you can play pandora OR you can “play” Waze. You can’t have music and maps at the same time. So this tech leaves a LOT to be desired.

@scottm, Maybe that kinda use is why it stopped being used as a useful tool for reporting issues with the cars. Too poor a “signal to noise” ratio.
