AP Racing / Essex road front BBK - first impressions

That about sums it up. They have lived very easy lives...the calipers look nearly new and the pads have very little wear. They do indeed look really damn cool! ☺️

AP Racing / Essex road front BBK - first impressions

It didn't have anything to do with that at all. These were on my neighbor's car, but he knows very little about the details of these things. Hence, I'm selling them for him. 😋 He loved the brakes, but recently sold the Model 3 Performance they were installed on.

Looking for insight with M3P driving characteristics

Agree with the other posts above. You must have your M3 in chill mode. We have a Long Range Y and a Model 3 Performance. While the Y's acceleration is brisk, you should be instantly planted in your seat with the 3 Performance! I always liken the acceleration to a slingshot or instantly...

New built car has 71 miles on odometer

Also keep in mind that demo cars don't necessarily have to be demo drivers. My Y LR was a demo car, but it was a showroom demo. People poked, prodded, and sat in it for the few weeks it was in the showroom, but it only had 5 miles on the odometer. The stranger cooties were worth the nearly $6k...

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Just installed my 19” Anthracite VS-5RS wrapped in Conti DWS6. They are gorgeous and I saved over 10 pounds per corner vs the OEM 20” Uberturbines and stock Pirellis! Fills out the wheel arches much, much better. I still have a nasty wheel gap, but I’m okay with that in the name of comfort. 😋...

New built car has 71 miles on odometer

The concerns over delivery mileage stems from ICE vehicle days. In most cases vehicle manufacturers had very specific parameters about how the car was driven in those early miles (don't go above 5,000 RPM for the first 750 miles, etc.). Those parameters were suggested to extract maximum...

Great MYLR delivery experience in Columbus, OH!

I figured I'd share since many people who have positive experiences don't ever share, while those who have negative experiences are sometimes more likely to vent. I picked my MYLR up in Columbus, OH a couple weeks ago and everything went very quickly and smoothly. I arrived a little before...

Can I turn off driver's side AC but keep passenger side on?

For anyone else with this or a similar issue...I found and ordered a vent block that works great: Vent Cover for Tesla Model 3/Y by Ludicrous Tesla on Tindie This was apparently designed and 3D printed by forum member icefree, and discussed in this thread here on the forum: Blocking or covering...

New Tesla owner. Climate control question.

I just went through something similar with my M3P. The AC was drying my contact lenses out horribly. I found and ordered a vent block that works great: Vent Cover for Tesla Model 3/Y by Ludicrous Tesla on Tindie This was apparently designed and 3D printed by forum member icefree, and...

    Matrix Headlights on LR Y?

I agree. I unfortunately just don't have very much confidence in our US government allowing the full function of the matrix headlights anytime soon. I'm glad you're getting to enjoy yours in Denmark though. At least somebody gets to do so! :)

Hankook new iON tire, an "EV" tire (not the same as Kinergy GT)

Got it. Thanks! So what are everyone's thoughts on purchasing 'certificates' with Discount Tire? They supposedly already have flat tire repair included in the standard price, and the tires have a manufacturer's tread life warranty. I typically purchase through Tire Rack, so not that familiar...

Hankook new iON tire, an "EV" tire (not the same as Kinergy GT)

Thanks for the heads up, but I'm not seeing that. When I check discount tire and them to my cart, I'm seeing $267 per tire. Maybe the discount varies by location? https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tires/hankook-ion-evo-as/p/120826

    Matrix Headlights on LR Y?

Another data point...I recently took delivery of a Model Y Long Range. It was an Austin build, manufactured in June 2023. It does NOT have matrix headlights but it does have HW4. I also own a '21 Model 3 Performance with Matrix headlights. The headlights in both vehicles are great, and a...

Can I turn off driver's side AC but keep passenger side on?

Thanks for the input. I wish Tesla would allow us to set it and forget it! I like the idea of the occupancy sensors, but clearly this is a perfect example of when they're hurting more than helping. That said...a first world problem and I can't get too upset. :)

Can I turn off driver's side AC but keep passenger side on?

My contact lenses get extremely dry when cold AC is blowing towards my eyes. I typically angle the driver's side vents away from my face, but I'm still catching enough air to dry my eyes out rapidly. Is there a way to turn off the driver side AC vents while leaving the passenger side on...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I feel like the writing was sort of on the wall for the better-than-expected margin results if one listened hard enough on Battery Day earlier this year. The percentages the team was throwing around when discussing cost reductions, footprint reductions, efficiency increases, etc. were...

AP Racing / Essex road front BBK - first impressions

Subieworx is correct. The piston seals can be cut in a specific shape so they don't have any drag. The AP Racing by Essex Kits have this feature and drag is not an issue. The discs are so large that they quite a sizable heat sink. It takes some work to heat them enough to get the pads to...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

On the topic of EV Demand. I keep seeing articles and comments scattered around the web suggesting that the rate of EV adoption is slowing, or that there isn't as much demand for EVs as there previously was. What a bunch of horsesh@t! I recently had a conversation with a local electrician who...

Congrats! I forgot the hitch, but that's in my spec for carrying a bike as well. That's fantastic on the M3 trade. Used cars are still bringing big money, so well played. Enjoy that beauty! Also, I honestly don't think you're actually missing much by not getting an Austin build. I don't...

I was totally feeling the exact same thing on Elon's FSD portion of the call. I kept thinking to myself, "What is he not saying that he is dying to say?" I wish the call was on video...would have loved to see his body language (and the others in the room).

One other thing I wanted to comment on is that I'm viewing 2022 as Tesla's 'Chipotle' year. If you're not familiar with Chipotle, read up on them to see how they turned the fast-food world on its ear. Their model was/is unique for many reasons, but their focus is on limiting distractions...
